I know that I mentioned it to you before airing the video, but I absolutely owe you an apology for the clickbait title. "Sweet, Amazing, Wonderful Woman" is what it should have said, but it isn't as clickable for a title. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you! Thank you so much for thinking of me! Its not going anywhere. I love our Eagle Talon TSI and I have been enjoying it for months now! Thank you again!!!

Rebecca, my hubby and I bought a new Mustang GT convertible in 2005 and I lost him Nov 2018. Hung on to it as long as I could. I still miss it - if ANYONE called me that publically would make it worse. Mine, too, was a garage princess...only a few creases in the leather. My heart went out to you..in fact, tears in my eyes now. Guess it brings back everything..same as when I have to drive his Ford Fusion. The one I paid off with 50% less income. It's fine..but not my "baby". 😔❤

We had one of these at the dealership in N.E. GA.. it was AWESOME.. It was so fun to drive. The owner and I were good friends and he let me use it as a demo. That Turbo AWD was perfect for these N. GA mountain curves & switch backs.. That thing was FUN. That thing would crab through a corner.. As long as you know how to drive it.. Thankfully, I worked at Road Atlanta for years and LEARNED how to drive and handle a vehicle.. GREAT FUN.

He was down at the University & had it for maybe 2 months before he said the timing belt broke / interference engine was toast. I forgot how many miles it happened at though. Every 60,000 miles a timing belt change needed.

Nobody could have done a better job of bringing this car back to mint! Without spending 3 or 4 grand Minimum! And for what? Something that isn't original! I'd much have an original, be it a car, a musical instrument, a watch, almost anything. 95% of the time, if you come across a really clean example of whatever floats your boat, it's pretty easy to restore. If you're keeping the car, pull out the floor mats and store them. Toss in a set of WeatherTech Lasercut floor liners. They keep the carpets clean even from slushy, salty boots. When you sell the car, put the original mats back in. I do this to all of my personal vehicles. My mats and carpets always look new when I sell, about every 3 years.

I know they didn’t have the hellcats, chargers or TRX’s we have today but man they had a great lineup of cars to choose from that were within reach of the average consumer. They had neons, cloud cars, avengers, intrepid, stealth, talon/laser, viper, Dakota, rams, YJ, TJ, Xj, grand Cherokee etc. Now all we get is challenger, charger, Rams, JL and bunch of jeep cuvs.

The auto is so much better for making big power.Currently getting an auto trans built and once done, doing away with the 5speed. This 2gb talon is beautiful. You're exactly right, you'll probably never get an opportunity to buy one in this condition ever again.

7 bolt motor, crank walker. Speed it up, install the manual trans. Everyone that had one back in the day knows all the issues.

You did a great job on it as usual. 😂 I wanted one when they first came out but never got one. I'd buy this one and keep it all original exactly as it is.

I use a spray cap with a line like from brake clean or WD-40 for the spray adhesive and poke a hole the headliner to spray up behind it

Is that a normal thing for him to promise the seller he's going to keep the car and not resell it, then on the next episode contemplate whether he's going to keep it or not? Was I the only one bothered by him calling the seller "an old lady" then blasting to everyone that her car smelled like mothballs? I dunno, seems disrespectful. I guess if you're going to vlog while you drive with one hand other people aren't priority.

Craig you have no idea how lucky you are man! What next...a Ford Probe GT just to spite us?
This was my dream car (although a bigger fan of the 95-96 before they molded the Eagle logo into the bumper) when I was like 10 and I actually had a brochure kit sent to my parents house back in the day!
Have come so close to buying its cousin car a few times since I am more into convertibles now but as you well know there are no factory AWD drop tops and I really did not want to trust anyone's backyard welding. The damning thing about these cars is that they are the hot rods of our time and just like the old muscle cars are far few and inbetween. This is such a rare find...not many Eagle Talons left mind you an TSI AWD that hasnt been modded into a shitbox.
Curious...it does not have leather interior? Maybe that was no longer an option on 97 but I swear there was a leather interior for the TSI AWD at least on the 95s.
Honestly I wish you would leave it alone and just drive it as is but its yours. The manual swap will make it more fun but risk is that you will break things that are now unobtanium and destroy the originality of this time capsule. You have probably the last "numbers matching" DSM left please please think on that before you do the swap.
Also I secretly hate you for getting this awesome car for less than peanuts. Hope you are keeping your word about not selling it...or if you do dont go Bring a Trailer on us and sell it for 15K.

Craig man, as someone who loves these cars and is apart of the DSM family, this video was hard to watch in some points. Btw the paint code is under the hood on the firewall on the passenger side. The interior is called electric pulsar. They all have been hacked up at this point so finding this gem is about impossible especially for the price you paid.
