Using Trailforks App to Find New Trails - and getting my ass kicked

- I decided to ride new trails and used Trailforks app to locate them in Pitmedden Forest, Scotland. I wanted to challenge myself to some black trails. I usually ride red and blue trails and it shows...
I rode;
Heart of Darkness - www.trailforks.com/trails/hea...
Bridge and Drops - www.trailforks.com/trails/bri...
part of Hammer and Tong - www.trailforks.com/trails/ham...
Then scared the life out of myself on Sidewinder - www.trailforks.com/trails/sid...
This was an education. I got my ass kicked but I will be back to session some of the features and maybe, one day, I will clean these trails. Plenty of room for progression here.
The Trailforks app workes really well (this isn't a paid promotion) the GPS map overlay is useful if a little slow. The reviews and grading system give a good idea of what you are letting yourself in for. The app can record rides but I've not used it for that yet.

I’m an advanced MTBer and I thoroughly enjoyed this. I love your passion, brother. That’s what it’s all about. Great job for a “noob” (as you put it). I’ll be waiting for the video of sending that drop at 6:18 😉
Glad there are people like me out there hahaha. Good one mate 😅
Pav S lol, too many pros on TH-cam, not enough noobs. Thanks for watching, I will have more videos along shortly
Ha ha progression is awesome!!!🚴🏾♂️ One day you'll look back and be like ha this is too easy
Great VID, enjoyed your commentary keep riding and the technique will come. you had me laughing when you pointed your bike towards Gradient Smile on the DH Trails as i was screaming NO not that one 🤣🤣 well done 👍
Love that you're out there trying something new--I'm also a "noob" and scare myself silly.....:-)
Great vid. Thanks for sharing
Good effort mate , I like your video.
This guy is awesome. It reminds of me. Good vid!
Love this. Man of the people!
I friggin love this video...this is me every time...
youre welcome ;) , you are strong if you now your borders/limits...first checking new trails..good job.. more crucial if u biking alone and get hurt...so i use now the google friend finder function for my sweetheart at home... ;)
911Polini thanks for recommending Google Friend Finder, I didn’t know about that, will look it up.
Great video! Just subscribed! I see this is from 3 years ago so how are things going today with mountain biking? I'm located in Pennsylvania USA and also just got back into mountain biking. I bought a new stumpjumper and I'm 46 years old. I used to mountain bike alot in the late 90's but got out of the sport. I still have my first mountain bike sitting in my shed.
This is funny , excellent reactions.
Did you end up riding those steeper bits out on those black trails another time? That little tech descent with the S backs then leading to that little drop looked like I would be fun as hell!
It is fun but I prefer riding there in the summer, it gets seriously muddy in winter.
Hey what camera setup is that, great quality and sound. Did you ever look at getting a Garmin to download your trails and get navigation? You van download TF to the Garmin
Nice video, but pleeeease wear a helmet next time. Sooner or later you will crash and be thankfull for a helmet.
Moritz Lahme don’t worry, I only took the helmet off when speaking to the camera.
@@mtbdad5273 oh okay. Then I have to admit, that I admire your helmet hair. I alway look like a dork after wearing a helmet.
