I think self published books are eligible for and sometimes show up in the other categories. Although all the examples in thinking of off the top of my head were poetry. RIP poetry category.
Love this idea!! And I’ve been devouring all the prediction videos and reaction videos-love this time of year! If I was to read the ones I own that are unread from all categories it would be 21 😬 I’m going to try and read all the books in mystery/thriller. I was able to predict 16/20 and have most of them either owned or from the library and the four I didn’t predict on hold so we’ll see how many I can read before voting ends 😊
I also love watching all of the reactions! 21! Uff! I thought I had a lot with 10. That doesn't include the 3 I have audiobook or ebook versions... Great predicting!! That's a super high percentage!
Wedding People got 4 stars, Husbands and Lovers 4 1/2, Rom-Commers 5, The Message sounds VERY intriguing-3 essays by Coates that will be interesting but I’m not quite ready for political stuff. I will definitely get to the Elizabeth Strout and have just started The Midnight Feast. I just finished Black Cake-that and The Frozen River are at the top of my best list for the year.
I know you said you don't read a lot of fantasy, but after having watched your videos all year, I honestly think you would really enjoy A Sorceress Comes to Call and The Familiar. Check them out. They both have strong female characters, interesting plots, and a touch of romance.
I wish I knew how the books were selected. One of the YA fantasy books on the list - Where the Library Hides - just came out last week! It seems impossible that it would have had much interaction yet. I've heard Nuclear War is really good but terrifying - not sure if I should read it or if it would make me even more anxious than I've been for the last few days. Good luck getting through your stack! The Lion Women of Tehran is really good but it didn't have a chance to surpass Frozen River or The Women for me.
It’s adds to the shelf as well as number of reads, you can look at the books statistics just below the edition section on goodreads and check it out. Where the Library Hides has 60000 adds, if it’s just number of reads they will be biased towards earlier releases
They need to make a category for self published or indie published books.
That would be great!

@@BookChats Poetry was gone a while ago, wasn't it? Too bad the get rid of categories in general..
A fun project! Good luck with your reading (:
Thank you! 😊
wow what a tbr 😱🤩
I have read 3 out of all of them and don’t own any more 😅
That's okay! Yeah... It's a bit daunting 😬
This is a fun idea. I just completed my A to Z author challenge and may use this to make an end of year TBR. That will give me two months to read the.
Great idea! I'm sure you'll find some great books!

Great to hear your thoughts! Thanks for sharing 😊
Interesting…I have not heard of hardly any of these…lots to consider for the future!
You bet! I'll let you know if you need to add any to your TBR!
I’m reading The Lion Women of Tehran at the moment. I think you might really like it.
Great to hear! I'm looking forward to it. I love a great historical fiction.

Thank you for the recs!! I'll add them to my Goodreads 😊

Who knows how they decide!? It's a mystery. I am kind of expecting that for Lion Women.. The Women will for sure be my vote.
For some reason I thought that they had a Middle Grade category in the past?
They got rid of it last year!! Such a bummer. I'd love that category still.
I really thought Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun would be on there. I loved that book, but i guess it didn't get enough ratings.
Yeah, that one was on my radar!
