The extra hot air ballon footage was worth every cent paid!! 😂 holding hands in a circle, running in and out, it felt very Midsommar-esque 😝 we love it!
I'm absolutely dyinggg at the behind the scenes hot-air balloon footage! 🤣dare I say it's my favourite part of the video?!? This is definitely one of my favourite vlogs of yours so far, everyone looks so happy and refreshed, love the mention of What the River Knows and tying it to places you visited
From the lady mean-mugging your camera (and you catching her), to the hot air balloon ride...this vlog was a good time had by all. Thank you for sharing with us Gavin.
Appreciate you sharing your adventure! I'm hosting a group tour in Egypt in March with trovatrip so it was nice being able to share this with the group so they can get excited about our trip.
Oh my gosh ahhhh the views of the pyramids! So stunning! I’m so happy you had such an amazing trip, this looked like so much fun! Also using the Coldplay song during the hot air balloon footage gave me literal CHILLS 🤩🤯 those views!!! Wow, so beautiful. Also I am crying laughing at that video you paid for 😂 that was worth it just for the laughs alone hahaha. I’m so glad your second Trova Trip was a massive success 🥹🥂
Thank you for watching my love, I hope we can go on more adventures together at some point too ❤️ and yay I’m glad you liked the song choice for that haha it had to be perfect
If no one else will say it, I will. You're amazing, Gavin and thank you for sharing this journey with us.- Signed, Someone who didn't go on the trip but wishes she had
24:00 You know, it looked just like I imagine a sleeper train to look. When I go to bed I often listen to Sleep story meditations by @Thehonestguys and their Dream weaver serier, and this is almost exactly how I imagine it, but maybe a bit newer and whiter. And a built in toilet room for every room, I'm not gonna lie. Just watching you in there makes me sleepy because of how often I listen to those meditation stories and fall asleep to the sound of a train going. And no, I have never actually been on a sleeper train... in this life.
This was awesome!! The hot air balloon video had me cracking up!! I’m curious what you’ll think of Crocodile on the Sandbank. The Amelia Peabody mysteries were one of my favourite series when I was younger. I’ve just started a nostalgia reread of them this year. There are a few things that haven’t aged super well, but they are a comfort read for me.
Gavin being JETSETTING Barbie makes us all so happy! Also, as someone who’s been to Egypt, I hope everyone who visits it has an amazing time there. And yes I was that nerd who read a bit about Ancient Egypt before going.
I laughed so hard during that paid video. He scammed you good. The song choice with the hot air balloons was 🧑🏾🍳💋! Thanks for sharing. I haven’t been to Egypt but I would love to go one day. Cairo especially looks beautiful.
I loooveee watching yours and Becca's Egypt vlog, but seeing some extra hot air balloon footage here was something else 😂😂😂😂😂 😢 its so nice to hear that you're in a better place now and that travelling helps ❤ one day I hope to join these trips, they look sooo much fun ❤
The hot air balloon video was amazing! You definitely got your monies worth :) I love the idea of signing the group read book - like a travel "yearbook". I am not at all jealous of your traveling journies...
This video makes me wish I had the means to go on the Norway trip with you. It is literally the country next door but I have never been. And you seem like such a lovely host and your travel planning skills seems top notch.
This was amazing Gavin. All the locations are spectacular, I've always wanted to go to Egypt. The balloon trip looked magical, and the paid video was hilarious! Best Wishes 💕
I’m only a minute into the video but there’s a brand of compression socks I think called Not Your Grandma’s Socks where they’re fun socks with patterns on, if that would help
What an incredible adventure!! The hot air balloon footage itself was stunning, but that video of all of you together before getting on the hot air balloon is Oscar worthy. The directing skills were impeccable haha! I'm so glad that travel has been something you've been able to use to lift your spirts, Gav- it's one of those things that help me too! I've been to both China and Norway and know you have AMAZING adventures coming up in the new year. Cheers to all adventures near and far, and to meeting old and new friends- it is wonderful to see you so happy!
The second you mentioned the sleeper train I was like: oh, you're not gonna sleep. I've also been on that train and slept for what felt like maybe 2 hours. Also, the cabinet door opening on its own happened to me as well on that train 😆
@@taylah520 I was thinking that too but then I thought, how would they have actually have filmed that? Only way would be with a drone or if the person filming was in another hot air balloon, and I think it was not someone working with the hot air balloon company, just a guy trying to make money.
I'm insanely jealous of this whole trip (although genuinely not sure whether I could have coped with the lack of sleep, LOL!). The hot air balloon trip looked absolutely amazing! Also, would highly recommend that Elizabeth Peters series - they're so much fun!
I was on a sleeper train once from France to Italy. We stayed up all night drinking and talking, but in all fairness we were seniors in high school. When we got off the train at the station, we all swayed slightly while we sat there and ate our breakfast after being on the train with that motion for so long.
Thank you for sharing your trip with us. Travel has not really been something I have been able to do much of, so it is nice to see others's travels. The footage you got was amazing. I am finishing up my second re-read of the Amelia Peabody series. I love it so much.
those long flights are truly purgatory. when i flew from New Zealand to England i had 3 flights and on the last one i ran out of entertainment halfway through and couldn’t sleep so i just stared at the flight map willing time to pass
I was obsessed with Egypt as a child and visiting it one day is a dream of mine! Thank you for sharing your adventures, it was lovely to see! Also, the video the guy made you before the balloons was hilarious 😆
Omg, when I read the info before the video I was like, oh come on, it can't be that bad. It was worse! But also soooo great. I laughed so much my mom had to ask if I was ok. Thank you ❤
😭 take me back! I miss you guys! We need an Egypt part 2 and 3. Part 2 - we go back to the hotel in Aswan and just hang out by the pool for a week. Part 3 - we continue our exploring
The views look amazing brings back so many memories of my childhood. I will 100% try and make it to the Norway trip. If it’s as exciting/amazing as what this trip looks like I am glad you enjoyed the trip. ❤
ive been so excited for this video! What the River Knows was one of my favourite reads this year and ive just finished the second book so all im thinking about is Egypt! thank you for letting me come along and experience this with you!
What an amazing experience for someone your age!!! What a blessing!! You all look so happy! And the food!!! Thank you for taking us along with you Gavin 🥰🥰
I went to Egypt (Hurghada) for my honeymoon in September. Safe to say we didn’t leave the hotel apart from to go snorkelling - highly recommend it was stunning!! Wish we did some day trips to look at the history. But we had an amazing time - bar turning into a lobster 😂
Wow this was SO cool to watch. I am so glad you went on this trip and documented it to share with us. It was so cool to experience vicariously through you!
1:14:33 I see the 3 books of Kara Cooney side by side 😂 my favourite American Egyptologist. "The woman who would be king" is about Hatshepsut. It's very very interesting. These books are actually fun and easy to read. They're not purely academic. 1:16:16 The Amelia Peabody series! I started it last year I think. I'm now on book 7. It's a historical (Victorian), cozy mystery (a murder for every book), adventure, romance (there's a main couple but also side couples for almost every book). We follow Amelia, a "feminist" English lady who embarks on an adventure to Egypt starting a life career of Egyptology and archeology. I highly recommend trying at least the first book (it's my favourite). This series is what inspired The Mummy movies (the good ones at least 😂) "I paid for that :)" 😂 and the wall 😂 I'm dying😂 I can't 😂 You didn't get to visit the new Egyptian museum!! They transferred all the cool things there. Oh and that train is just old so the toilet is also old school 😂 remember that scene in The Mummy 2 when the child tries to flush the toilet and discovers that it opens a hole at the bottom letting things fall off the train as it goes 😂
Really enjoyed this vlog along with everyone else. I hope your legs/feet are feeling better! Did you have to wear the compression socks before you had to fly or after you landed? (Not sure how they work.) Thanks for sharing your trip! Barbara
Great vlog! I’m finishing book 2 of Secrets of the Nile so I loved seeing the settings mentioned in the books ❤ Thankfully compression socks come in more colors and stripes now so we elder millennials can be distracted from the fact that we need to wear them 😂
agatha christie actually wrote death on the nile in aswan and you can stay in the room where she wrote it also the red sea in egypt you can go snorkeling and diving with dolphins
Such an incredible vlog, seeing all the places you went to while in Egypt! Would love to visit one day. Also as much as I would love to go on that Norway one... I'm actually gonna be going on a cruise during that time... to Norway/the Fjords. What are the odds? 😂 Who knows.. maybe I'll bump into you somehow 👀
“I paid for that” 😂 that was a highlight
Is it really a Gavin Trova trip without a ridiculous purchase? I hope it didn't cost as much as that sweater.
The extra hot air ballon footage was worth every cent paid!! 😂 holding hands in a circle, running in and out, it felt very Midsommar-esque 😝 we love it!
"a man showed us a wall and asked for 200 Egyptian pounds" must've been some wall. Was there a hole in it??!jkjkjk
Yeah, the famous scam wall. A lot safer than the camel scam.
The wall did have writing on it I guess haha
I'm absolutely dyinggg at the behind the scenes hot-air balloon footage! 🤣dare I say it's my favourite part of the video?!?

The hot air balloon video definitely took the vlog to another whole level “Who are these people…? I’m dying 😂😂😂😂
Was half expecting Ash and Tobu to end up with another sibling with all the cats in this video. This was such a fun video
Great video. ABU SIMBEL was one of the few places that DEATH ON THE NILE was filmed at. How cool that you got to visit in real life!!
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw that clip.
