I loved AJ Fikry. I just finished The Blue Sisters. Meh! 4 stars but not a strong 4.

So many people love Owen Meany. I HATED it, could not get the hype. I read it years ago w an entire group on email server, haha. Felt validated by your DNF! I just swapped for Butcher and Blackbird so I hope it is good. Loved Once and Future Witches too!

I actually have FOS, AJ Fikry, and the Pumpkin Spice book on my shelves. I suggested AJ Fikry for bookclub, so I will wait to read that one, but I can read the other 2 this month. I also plan to read Frankenstein for Victober.

I loved the Once and Future Witches. I have been wanting to reread it. Things We Never Got Over surprised me. It does read faster than you would expect given its size. I hope your reads go well.

I read the Pumpkin Spice Cafe during my September reading challenge. I thought it was going to be a cozy mystery, but really the mystery is secondary to the romance. Since I wasn't expecting it to be a romance it took me by surprise, a bit. It's pretty steamy.

So glad you enjoyed it! This is honestly the series that got me out of a years-long slump where I could only reread a handful of favorites, and I have loved every book in the series (and spin off) so far!

Good excuse to bop to my bookstore and buy Pumpkin Spice Cafe! Once and Future Witches is definitely one I'd love to get to this month. I hope you love Fountains of Silence-it was a 4.5 star for me! I forgot that there was a new Erin Stirling book coming out! I'm definitely going to need to look for that. That's a great pile of books!

A lot of good books there, they sound interesting. I hope you get out of your slump I am sort of still in my slump, back to reading, but one book at a time, used to be 2-3 books at a time. I have 3 more books to reach my goal on goodreads and it seems to be taking forever to get there. Do you have a lot of prompts for the face cards?, cause it seems to be the same ones you are pulling.

I’m really enjoying this series going to pick up the 3rd book soon to get ready for the upcoming release in November.

I really enjoyed this book and thought the puzzles and riddles were so clever. A year later, though, I can't remember much of the details of the trilogy. I have the newer books in the series still to read but I may need to read a cliff notes summary of the original 3 to refresh my memory.

Ugh I was in a reading slump to start September also. It was so good to see a book (hopefully) get you out of it in this! They’re so frustrating and I always just want the slump to end…

Reading slumps really are the worst! When I’m trying to get out of a slump I like to reread favorites, and also short story collections sometimes help. I hope you have a good day!

I wouldn't be letting anyone into my house lol. She thinks someone is watching her, this person turns up and she's like...suuure, come on in. This is why I struggle with thrillers lol.

I gave the Astronaut & the Star 3 stars as well. It was cute but not memorable.

I got short and films Buster Keaton seven chances 2. Charlie Chaplin tiles punctured romance.. there romance comedies . I believe which is your thing . And the kids can watch them with you you may have to read them to them . And they the can laugh at the two funny men .

Also, I didn’t know if you knew this or not. This is the more recent thing that started but September 29 is international silent movie day. I think it is the third year so maybe just something you can do does involve reading things. Maybe you could do something for that, just saying not like doing anything for it so maybe you could watch like an old Chaplin or Buster Keaton movie that could relate the books you know I look up a Keaton and Chaplin short and see if I can find ones that fit your taste cause I know Chaplin did some comedy romance ones

To go with astronaut in the star I can recommend a good comedy movie. It’s an old Don notts movie the reluctant astronaut. Plot : I remember right and I could be wrong about this. Dan works at the carnival re-operates a moon simulator ride and then ends up getting a job at NASA works at the end and ends up getting shot off into space becoming a reluctant astronaut.

I’m surprised titanic books aren’t a sub genre get their own slip so I think I can deserve it. I know that’s a big thing for you.

I can’t stand ambiguous endings so I am not going to read the second one you read. And the astronaut one sounded meh. I’m not sure either of those would have gotten me out of a reading slump. Maybe Katherine Center or Kelly Harms would do the trick.

Don’t be hard on yourself-you will figure out a balance that makes sense with everything in life. How do you like your new job?

Unfortunately, I read too much for this. I love the idea but it just wouldn’t fit my needs. There are too many review pages, not enough blank pages and the daily pages wouldn’t be used by me.

When you have an extra weekly section you could use it as like a reflection page, but like look back on your weeks and like write in how your Mondays and other days of your weeks have gone. And maybe write in some ways you want to make days better? Just another way of reflection but see if there are patterns in how you feel about days of the week. Like most people hate Monday, so how can you make your Mondays better over time. Sorry for the long comment. 😊

I am excited to go back to Ashland, OR for the 2nd annual Ashland Mystery Festival. Thirteen cozy mystery writers and lots of events, panels, etc. Last year was awesome!

I'm not a bullet journaler (I've tried, it just doesn't work for me), but I love seeing other people's spreads!

If you need some witchy recommendations. I love the Practical Magic series, start with Magic Lesson. The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is a great witchy romance series. For YA, The Nature of Witches, and Sorcery of Thorns (also great audiobook). Hope you have a great trip!

I’m not a hardcore reader, I like to sit on the thoughts that books provoke in me. 60 positions for two years would be enough for me personally, but even if I read this many in just one year, I’d still be a good journal I think. It sounds like a lot of fun, however I would leave out the daily reading tracker, I hate that everything has to be a daily habit nowadays. It takes the joy out of just doing things for me.

That space is so perfect for wrap around shelves like that! Those book ends are beautiful.
