With how the maps are designed and how busted splash is at the moment it makes sense why hurling yourself into a brick wall is the only thing that works especially since most maps don't allow for anything else
I've already converted to the QR Legion since Splatoon 3 released. I used to think the ability was trash, and then I finally realized that it's supposed to be a safety net to allow you to play more aggressively without getting punished for it, that alone made me love it. Rushing the opponents and taking fights with QR is one of the most fun playstyles in the game, it feels like you can't lose, if you die, then you'll respawn quickly anyway, and if you win the fight, then good for you, you are already doing your job as a slayer.
QR is not just good for yourself, but also for your team. Cuz what a frontliner must always do is keep pressuring the frontline and pushing objectives. Backliners can't defend themselves well when forced to fighting up close after the frontliners are down. Having QR makes you takes less time waiting for respawn and more time pushing the objective.
@@YipeekayHarasho Yeah, I used to have the mindset of "why would you use this ability on a slayer, if you usually get at least one kill before dying, and it won't activate every time?" I used to prefer abilities like Swim Speed Up that are always active, but now that I've learned to appreciate QRs effect, even if it isn't active for the whole match, it's amazing. It single handedly creates the possibility of a hyper aggressive playstyle. Also, just in terms of fun alone, being able to play the game more is more fun, not having to wait the full 5 seconds to respawn and start playing again is great, you literally get more play time in the match, and also, since you are taking more fights, you will be getting better at the game by doing it, it's the ultimate set for practicing how to win fights.
The only problem is most players don't know how to use their weapons to the fullest, as a backliner, most of the time I get taken out by three guys while the rest of my team with super offensive weapons do nothing...
It might be because I dealt with a QR meta in Splatoon 1 and the ability was even stronger in that game but that's one of the few reasons why I don't enjoy playing against QR metas as it feels like an uphill battle as the enemy will always have an advantage in numbers as deaths don't matter to them at all compared to your team and they can come back within seconds. It sometimes feels like if your team runs anything that isn't full QR you just lose as you slowly get overwhelmed by the constant waves of zombies. I have to admit though, it is fun not having to worry about getting punished for dying playing a QR build. It's just rough being on the receiving end of it at times.
I’ve been using qr for a while and playing really aggressive weapons, it’s very funny running into the entire enemy team and then coming back in a second (hopefully they change qr for tri color)
quick respawn is one of the most unique and dare I say coolest power ups in any multiplayer shooter. any time I get invited to try out a new game of this genre there is a moment where I think "it'd be really cool if you had a quick respawn buff in this game"
@@m4rcyonstation93 that's bad. what I like in splatoon is that it is a "stat" that can be buffed. you can choose to respawn quicker than your opponents, but will have to sacrifice other buffs, making it balanced

@@rubellite4480 Right now I've been working on burst combos with it and improving my zipcaster skills. I definitely need way more practice but for the most part I'm having a good time ^^
Damn, I'm actually gonna have the popular meta ability for once... I usually have one or two Quick Respawns (e.g one on hat one on shoes) just because I wanna get back into the action ASAP.
The sickest change that would kill the game instantly when implemented would be that Quick Respawn still activates if the number of kills you get after respawning is higher than 2, or 3. W key meta, baby
I've actually been running QR on Splatana Wiper since your video and I've done pretty damn good with it. Mind you I mostly play Splat Zones and occasionally Tower Control and Turf War because I suck in the other two game modes but it's become one of my favorites to rock.
@@starmoral5456 That’s true tetras and wiper both use QR by themselves but, what I should of said is that if you have a non QR dependent weapons like Stamper then you need to have the rest of your team using QR as well.
I came up with a video idea! You should make a video based off of the best weapons for every special. For example, the best trizooka weapon would be carbon deco or smth, the best stamp weapon would be maybe wiper, etc. Thoughts? :)
The only reason why I dislike running majority QR builds is that if I get one kill, a lot of my ability slots are just rendered null since QR won’t work. I’d rather save them for stuff I’d find more important since I trust myself to get kills reliably enough
Having so many Splat Pros recommend QR is quite the oxymoronic plot twist! The only good use I get outta QR is removing ability chunks off of ugly shoes. I won't argue that they're wrong, though. Splatoon 3 is my 1st Splat game and telling Pros to "Get Gud" is a bad look for anybody.
Hey, I'm pretty sure I ended up playing with you last night. Anarchy battle series, eeltail/moray, tower control. I was a wiper wearing the inkling girl amiibo dlc and white chocolate tee
I always have at least 1 slot of quick respawn when I'm not just farming slots or cash or something in turf war. If you get in fast a couple times you'll eventually break through and I play heavy so I'm not supposed to be dying all the time. Just by the nature of splatoon 3 unless you get good control early your going to die more than you would otherwise.
i wish qr meta was a thing, i already main tetras and wiper and i’ve thought about running more agressive quick respawn comps before with my team (something like tetras + ballpoint + n-zap)
I'm still super not convinced by this ability. The biggest issue is that although it can let you come back from a lost fight faster, it also makes you more likely to lose that fight in the first place since you have to give up other key abilities to get it. I could see some niche usage for premade comps where specific players could run it (for example, a dedicated Rainmaker carrier might get good value out of it) but I feel it has very little value for SoloQ.
@@chkensammich It depends on the weapon of course, it's basically just whatever other abilities they need, since Quick Respawn uses up some of your ability slots.
@@jgr094 Sure, it's probably fine for weapons that aren't too gear dependent. The first one to come to mind is Tri-Slosher, which barely cares about its sub and special.
