I wish that Mojang would implement the Wandering Trader rebalancing now while they continue to work on the other villagers. It is about time that Wandering Traders become more than just a source of Leads and Leather…
@@DogFace_3000 Yes. Toycat has mentioned it a bit in streams and shorts. Mojang wants to resolve some major bugs that can cause unfair deaths before officially releasing hardcore mode. That might not be the only reason, but it's the one Toycat has emphasized from the Mojang blog post.
You’ve said that you think the copper door looks like it has a key hole, but to me it looks like a hanging handle. (A pull handle shaped like a door knocker.)
@oliverplougmand2275 Well for starters it makes book trading way more of a grind than it already was. Sure the enchantments are more consistent, but now you have to go to certain biomes and maybe even do some villager breeding just for 1-3 enchantment types. That would be way more annoying than just placing a lectern and breaking it over and over again until you get what you want (in my opinion, at least). Never took me more than 30-45 mins to get all my enchantments that way, but this new trading mechanic would probably add an hour or so (depending on a variety of factors). Another issue is that some of the enchantments from villagers won't be maxxed out, so you would be forced to combine books (i.e. only being able to get sharpness 4, so you HAVE to combine 2 books to get sharpness 5, which increases the enchantment weight). This was concerning because they made no mention on if they were going to tweak the enchanting system, which they honestly need to do regardless of the villager trading changes. This means that getting max level enchantments might actually get way harder than it already is because you're going to get the "too much xp" message after having to combine so many books, potentially locking you out from getting the enchantment level you want. Even if you can get some max-level enchants that you want, you could still get locked out from putting on other enchants because the weight has been increased so much from all the combining. There's more efficient ways to combine, but it's still worrying that there's a chance this new trading mechanic might make it borderline impossible to get all max-level enchantments exclusively from trading. Overall I'm not against this new mechanic, but I'm definitely not satisfied with how it currently works. They just need to round it out better without nerfing of buffing any particular aspect too much. Not allowing certain enchants to be traded at max-level is my biggest drawback because the current enchanting system is already fairly unbalanced, in my opinion
I think the next update should be "The Enchanted Update", where they would add some features to expand on the concept of magic and enchantments. But most importantly, do some changes to the enchantment table to make it a viable option to use instead of villagers. If they roll this buff out along side the villager nerfs, it can finally balance things out between them.
I feel like getting most of my enchants through the enchanting table and just combining level 30 enchanted gear gets me to max enchanted stuff faster and cheaper than getting all my enchantments through villagers. I usually only get librarians for mending and to add unbreaking to my elytra (and shears/flint and steel for the flex)
The major problem with the trading is that there's not another good option to obtain mending, so if they're going to nerf the villagers, at least they should buff the enchantment table or buff the anvil to repair your gear without spending too much xp, or they can also add a way to get more xp (maybe a new structure or buffing xp in general)
I completely agree the enchanting and anvil system needs a massive update but I feel like there is still a good way to get mending without having to travel it’s fishing I was able to get a mending book after only like 5 days with fishing it’s not fun but it’s a way
I don’t like the villager rebalancing. I love that they’re overpowered! I truly wish the feature would stay as one where you can choose to switch it on, or keep it off. I don’t wanna have to travel a million blocks away for a specific book trade if i like where i built my base or something.
The reason the Mace sucks now isn't because its weak... Its because now its niche (or at least more niche than it used to be). The only thing the attack cooldown accomplishes is making it impossible to use the Mace as a viable standard weapon. Now it can ONLY be used to one shot mobs by jumping off of things or using wind charges, because using it for standard combat is slower than using an axe (and switching into it from a sword doesn't work either because of the attack speed). They're too afraid of having anything come close to outclassing the basic sword. I hate Mojang's insistence on making every new weapon have a slow cooldown for no reason... The Trident is like this too (why the heck can you throw it multiple times in quick succession, but then hitting things with it is as slow as a snail? I thought spears were supposed to be fast!). Its one of my biggest pet peeves. Just give us decently fast weapons for once Mojang! :/
There's gonna be people saying that's exactly how it's supposed to be, but I agree with you. The mace is actually much weaker on java than it is on bedrock when you compare it with other (diamond) tools. On bedrock the damage is sword>axe>mace=pickaxe>shovel>hoe, while on java, the damage per second is sword>axe>pickaxe>shovel>mace>hoe. In fact, the DPS of the mace is as good as that of a stone pickaxe, while on bedrock, it's as good as a stone sword. It actually makes getting the things you want easier because you have a guaranteed chance of getting that thing I don’t know why people are upset at the system when it’s not the systems fault it’s the idea that transporting villagers is hard which is not part of the system. It’s not a feature of the system.
@@stargazer-eliteHaving to transport villagers is a consequence of the system, which is why it is being talked about. The new system forces players to either have multiple villages, which is obnoxious and inconvenient, or transport villagers, which is obnoxious and inconvenient. Both options take a lot more effort and time than the current system (which is the point), but neither option creates a sense of fulfillment or fun for the player. So, yes, it does make villager trades more consistent, but it makes the experience of getting the trades you want waaaaay more tedious, inconvenient, and annoying. I'd say the downsides outweigh the upsides by quite a bit. It's especially annoying since they aren't even nerfing villagers. They are just making villagers more annoying than they already are, in hopes that players will stop using them as much.
@kingauther7812 no also armorers require diamond blocks and emeralds to be able to buy diamond gear, some enchanted books cannot be obtained via villagers, etc.

@@TheLegend-jp1vg Well, you're technically not wrong... But all of the update features are lumped together usually (like the 1.21 features were in 1.20.5), while the villager rebalance was completely separate from those. People reacted very negatively about the villager rebalance, so they haven't gone through with implementing it. (I've noticed they also stopped working on it too. 4:33 I paused the video to write this comment, so that I can give my own opinion on the matter before hearing his. Maybe he'll agree with it. In any case, I think that because of how common copper ore is, copper doors and trapdoors being expensive to craft is a non-issue, because you can very easily get yourself Stacks and Stacks of Copper. It's like, the most abundant ore following Coal.
Yeah they immediately cooked way to hard on it. If they'd have introduced them gradually the wouldn't have had so much backlash but since they immediately nerfed them into the ground the community is immediately gonna be skeptical of any change to villagers they suggest
The problem is not that the trading rebalance is bad, the problem is the horrible enchanting/repairing system that we have. Too much rng and grind, and there is that dumb "it costs too much". If they rework that system to make it more fun and remove the grind, the trading rebalance would be fine.
Trial chambers can't be that hard to find. Both of my hardcore worlds I'm paying on I just stumbled into one while strip mining. (Although I also seem to have somehow stumbled into an ancient city as well while strip mining) I'm not sure why my luck while strip mining is like that. I'm just looking for diamonds and find trails and cities. I have yet to find a stronghold while mining but I wouldn't be surprised if I did.
What a way of crying about the cost of coppers doors. Coppers is one if not the most abundant material in the Minecraft. Mine it with Fortune III and you get on average 7.7 copper per ore. You can even get 20 copper from just one ore if you're lucky. Now we're back to having an over abundance of copper.
it's too OP. the idea they had was no good, but they are broken and need a rework. game's too easy because of how busted it is and they NEED to be balanced out somehow.
Pretty much been playing since update came out (on my bedrock world which is couple months old) I was able to get cartographer and got 2 trial maps which are fairly close to my base (in preloaded chunks)
1:55 I feel like coming down from such heights just to do a huge damage is not ideal compared to using a sword. I feel like this is more of a copium weapon for now.
For those who want the Mace i have a "trick" for you. The chances of getting a Mace is 8% but you can make it 100%. Before you open the ominous vault, walk up to the side of the vault. You will see cycles of loot. Thats not the possible loot. that is the loot you will get if you open the vault while that loot is visible. it circles all the loot that you can get from that vault. The 8% for the Mace is the chances of it being visible. So wait until you see the Mace or whatever loot you want. You need to open it immediately as you spot your loot the you will get that loot with possible other loot. TIME IT CORRECTLY.
Not a fan of the mace being so situationally based on fall distance. Sure, it's meant to synergize with the breeze charges, but it should be a viable weapon without any of that considering how much more involved and time consuming of a process grinding for it alone can be over a diamond or netherite axe/sword. Hopefully I'm proven wrong, but I just don't see the mace appearing much in the pvp scene, which will be a good way to see if it truly is as useful or situational as is argued.
I went to 10 fully different trial chambers and didn’t get a mace till the last one, where I got 3 of them smh. Now I’m grinding for wind burst and I’ve gone to like 25 of them
it is sad, but please. when it releases, DO NOT. there have been more and more random deaths recently-that switch that turns on hardcore, while nice and challenging, results in an illogical death and a rage quit from minecraft as a whole. a pheonexSC video covered it recently. it is insane how many times recently people have randomly dropped dead for no reason except a weird twist on the average server lag. (it doesn't register blocks placing or elytra being used a great deal on bedrock, which results in days later it registers fall damage that you should have taken as though the blocks were never placed or elytra never used) so yes. hardcore is a great challenge on java! but on bedrock there are just too many buggy deaths to turn it on reliably. only way to be safe is...never place blocks?
why does every update make MORE disparity between java and bedrock? why arent the maps for example, or copper door recipes, exactly the same?? they are giving themselves more work down the line
95% of the content is in parity. The copper door recipe is just a bug, and for the maps only the name is the difference. They are trying their best but some things slip
You know what’s more rare the goddamn creator disc, I have gotten over 8 heavy cores in my Minecraft realms, and yet still haven’t gotten that damn disc
They can just make things more expensive so people can’t abuse emerald trades for infinite amounts. Mending on all villagers won’t be an issue if they cost a lot of emeralds, and then they’re actually worth mining then
That 1-tap Warden KO has to be staged so it's not something that can happen in a survival situation. It's funny how they backpedaled on the insane damage from 1-tapping the Warden from ontop of the AC statue when they themselves even promoted that ability to kill something we weren't supposed to.
Could have been cool if the copper door didn’t open with your fist like an iron door, but had the same toggle functionality as a copper bulb meaning one button press would keep it open and a second would close it
About copper doors, I had read somewhere that they were supposed to be manually opened only by players, but other mobs have been able to open it. Is it true?

I actually dont mind how it takes a while to get. Alongside the Totem of Undying it deserves to be rare. All I really wish for to be honest is for villagers to be capable of repairing your gear for emeralds. It would be a cool feature.
@@noisemarine561 that would both make sense and-
wait. good idea incoming. what if they removed mending but implemented the villager repair system you mention? not as overpowered depending on prices and-wow yeah great idea THUMBS UP TO YOU for that.
and yeah I agree with you. some things SHOULD be rare. sadly, there are always people who complain things take too much grind to get, and the same people often complain something's too easy.
I like the grind. not many do, but I'm someone who likes it. I spent over 6 hours straight cutting trees for a prank on my friend on a server (we live on a large island) it was very funny and I will also never run out of wood again.

Ill be honest I only wanted alternate repair Ideas because I like to use the Trident
Coper door should be immune to attacs from zombie and pilagers, than it's gona be really useful
but then iron doors are just redundant. have fun with the looks but don't expect big gameplay changes with it is what I'd say.
Said the chance for heavy core is 7.5%. Well I find that horrendous because I’ve searched about 3 dozen chambers with zero success on getting it…
The villager trade rebalancing should be hardness game toggle. “Harder Villagers”, making it harder to get the trades you want.
Technically it’s already a thing. Before creating a world, go to experimental features and toggle the villager rebalance option.
It actually makes getting the things you want easier because you have a guaranteed chance of getting that thing I don’t know why people are upset at the system when it’s not the systems fault it’s the idea that transporting villagers is hard which is not part of the system. It’s not a feature of the system.
@@stargazer-elite what system are you talking about
@@ryankriller1931 the new villager trading system
I'm so glad new trading isn't out
I dont like it at all
Even though I do think trading is too op
Disagree. Being able to re-make max-level gear in a couple of minutes after dying is just as Notch intended.
The new trading is just librarians having certain books only in certain biomes right?
@kingauther7812 no also armorers require diamond blocks and emeralds to be able to buy diamond gear, some enchanted books cannot be obtained via villagers, etc.
@@brevortofficial you needed diamond BLOCKS? As well as emeralds? That’s horrible. I do like the librarian changes tho
@@kingauther7812 no, its not blocks, its just half the diamonds you would normally require to craft that piece of gear
Apparently the wind charge is less effective when wearing armor. At least it is with netherite armor and the strange thing is this isn't documented anywhere
Probably because of the knockback resistance of Netherite armour
@@HellCromeE I did some quick testing and you are correct. Thanks
That’s not to mention that you can get a slime spawner in a trial chamber, and if you’re building something with redstone, this is definitely worth coming back to
Thank you so much for clearing up the myth on the swamp villagers I have been grinding to get mending but every video I see, it isn't clear.
Me "enjoying" the villager trading balance
5:30 About this, I searched the stronghold and after finding it, I saw the portal room and the library. Before entering the portal room, I decided to check the library out first and guess what I see, Trial Chambers right next to it.
Can zombies or pillagers break down copper doors? Also, can villagers use them?
So I traveled tens of thousands of blocks looking for a villager when I could've used the one I was next to the whole time😭
Let's do some "itembowling" with wind charges :D Idea: a minigame where you have wind charges and you need to push them into holes like a minigolf !
I'm hoping the trading changes go the way of the bundle.
4:06 I'm pretty sure it isn't a lock, it's just a hand-knocker door handle sort of thing
well here’s a real fact: Getting wind burst III is hard. i’m only getting Wind Burst I
according to the wiki they are equally likely but everyone i have talked to (including me) has only gotten Wind Burst I
@@brevortofficial i heard it’s only wind burst 1 and u must combine books. but ik a dupe method so i do that

My very first vault had a heavy core lmao. amazing clip, and then i went to 3 more trial chambers and never got the new music disc lol
I truly don't understand why they don't just let chiseled bookshelves alter the odds of enchantment table. That would fix the biggest problem with villager trading (they're de facto required to get good enchantments)
4:25 another way that hasn’t been mentioned, are copper doors destroyable by zombies? Making them a more stronger option in hardcore worlds?
No sadly
I don't know why people thought the trading changes were going to be added. That rumor came out of literally nowhere.
Probably cause it was announced after 1.20 came out so the logical leap was that it was coming in 1.21
@@brevortofficial Except its _experimental._ Just like the bundle, and the combat snapshots, which both still show no signs of being officially added to the game.
@@lasercraft32 and like the 1.21 snapshots, which got added to the base game in 1.21 , it's a pretty easy mistake to make
I'm no minecraft update expert but I always assumed that the snapshots and experimental changes were things being added in the next update or next few updates and mojang doesn't specify what is and isn't coming so I got all my villagers in a trading hall because I didn't know what was happening. I'm glad I got it done I was starting to procrastinate too much! Now I wonder if the new enchantments are available with the villagers.
@@TheLegend-jp1vg Well, you're technically not wrong... But all of the update features are lumped together usually (like the 1.21 features were in 1.20.5), while the villager rebalance was completely separate from those.
The purpose of the experimental snapshots is (as the name implies) to test out new features to see how the community feels about it. People reacted very negatively about the villager rebalance, so they haven't gone through with implementing it.
(I've noticed they also stopped working on it too. They haven't tweaked anything or said anything about the villager rebalance in a while... Though maybe they were just too busy working on 1.21's features).
Meanwhile the poor bundle has been left untouched for years now lol.
Playing this in 1.25x speed is making me question my sexuality.
I just wish that you could access the trial chamber vault multiple times, like once a day etc

Odds for the heavy core were not like that of notch apples for me. I got about 15 notch apples and only 2 heavy cores after about 3 hours of searching with my brother
#1 I can confirm.
I found 2 villagers in plains biome both trading mending book as 1st for 11 emeralds.
I have been to 5 trial chambers and I haven't gotten the heavy core but I have got a 11 enchanted gapples, and they are hard to find as i don't want to keep trading with different villagers to get the map
I got the heavy core on my first chamber :D
trading is OP, yes, the way the did the trade rebalancing was not the solution
Yeah they immediately cooked way to hard on it. If they'd have introduced them gradually the wouldn't have had so much backlash but since they immediately nerfed them into the ground the community is immediately gonna be skeptical of any change to villagers they suggest
The problem is not that the trading rebalance is bad, the problem is the horrible enchanting/repairing system that we have. Too much rng and grind, and there is that dumb "it costs too much".
If they rework that system to make it more fun and remove the grind, the trading rebalance would be fine.
@mechanical_squid4047 yeah xp by design is extremely grindy it basically requires you to make a mob grinder
the copper trapdoors dont need redstone so you cant get trapped in the trial chambers
I have opened 30+ ominous vaults with no mace
10:56 "speaking of things I don't love, I hope you enjoyed this map"
Trial chambers can't be that hard to find. Both of my hardcore worlds I'm paying on I just stumbled into one while strip mining.
(Although I also seem to have somehow stumbled into an ancient city as well while strip mining) I'm not sure why my luck while strip mining is like that. I'm just looking for diamonds and find trails and cities. I have yet to find a stronghold while mining but I wouldn't be surprised if I did.
I just want to say the effort put into these videos and maps is so appreciated and enjoyable to see. Also 100 trial chambers
Very much appreciated :)
Use a wind charge to launch yourself up and use the mase
I spent 3 hours trying to get unbreaking 3 from a villager (still haven’t gotten it) is it possible?
What a way of crying about the cost of coppers doors. Coppers is one if not the most abundant material in the Minecraft. Mine it with Fortune III and you get on average 7.7 copper per ore. You can even get 20 copper from just one ore if you're lucky. Now we're back to having an over abundance of copper.
No main Villager trade re-balance. I never want that garbage.
it's too OP. the idea they had was no good, but they are broken and need a rework. game's too easy because of how busted it is and they NEED to be balanced out somehow.
Iron is magnetic and copper isn't, so maybe that's why the copper doors can be opened by hand
Ive been in spectator in bedrock and I can safely say the trial chamber is not rare
4:47 Aren’t they the exect same?
Pretty much been playing since update came out (on my bedrock world which is couple months old) I was able to get cartographer and got 2 trial maps which are fairly close to my base (in preloaded chunks)
are copper doors more resistant to zombies than wooden doors?
if yes then they would be a good balance between iron and wood
1:55 I feel like coming down from such heights just to do a huge damage is not ideal compared to using a sword. I feel like this is more of a copium weapon for now.
ngl mace w/ wind burst 3 is a 6 shot on the warden
Yeah there's no way that's true lol.

Now I’m grinding for wind burst and I’ve gone to like 25 of them
It would be cool if you need to take a lever with you to open each trial chamber room and all :0
Its not a lock its one of those round handels
I thought the heavy core was way more common. I did a trial chamber with a friend and we both got a heavy core on the first try
Found a heavy core in the first trial ruin I went to I was so surprised I thought it was going to be rarer
Boy was I disappointed when i found out that there is no Hardcore 😢
me too, man
I feel you guys
it is sad, but please. when it releases, DO NOT. there have been more and more random deaths recently-that switch that turns on hardcore, while nice and challenging, results in an illogical death and a rage quit from minecraft as a whole.
a pheonexSC video covered it recently. it is insane how many times recently people have randomly dropped dead for no reason except a weird twist on the average server lag.
1:52 you literally just build 100 blocks into kill literally anything like no it doesn’t suck it’s the most powerful weapon ever
Aiit. I'm getting back into Minecraft again. The chambers look cool
why does every update make MORE disparity between java and bedrock? why arent the maps for example, or copper door recipes, exactly the same?? they are giving themselves more work down the line
95% of the content is in parity. The copper door recipe is just a bug, and for the maps only the name is the difference. They are trying their best but some things slip
They have completely different sets of developers for the two versions, they're bound to slip up here and there
Such as?
3:51 but can zombies break copper doors? that may be the secret use behind them
Bro I got like 5 mendings looking for a protection IV
You know what’s more rare the goddamn creator disc, I have gotten over 8 heavy cores in my Minecraft realms, and yet still haven’t gotten that damn disc
Can you please confirm the rate of wind burst enchantments... on bedrcok is almost impossible

They can just make things more expensive so people can’t abuse emerald trades for infinite amounts. Mending on all villagers won’t be an issue if they cost a lot of emeralds, and then they’re actually worth mining then
Did you try to hit a Warden with it the Mace? Not that i think it is a one shot but still curiouse how much it actually would hit with.
It is possible to one shot the warden with the mace. You have to fall from a very high distance to do it but it is possible.
The mace infinitely scales based on fall distance. If you fall from high enough you can one-shot anything.
That 1-tap Warden KO has to be staged so it's not something that can happen in a survival situation. It's funny how they backpedaled on the insane damage from 1-tapping the Warden from ontop of the AC statue when they themselves even promoted that ability to kill something we weren't supposed to.
@mariobrine7012 yeah mojang be like NOOOOO YOU CANT KILL WARDEN

Yes
I got very bad luck to find the mace. It took me 36 ominous vaults (5 or 6 trial chambers) before I finally got one.
I went to 6 and didn't find a single one, meanwhile my friend went to 2 trial chambers and got 2

Yes, exact same as before 1.21
Could have been cool if the copper door didn’t open with your fist like an iron door, but had the same toggle functionality as a copper bulb meaning one button press would keep it open and a second would close it
About copper doors, I had read somewhere that they were supposed to be manually opened only by players, but other mobs have been able to open it. Is it true?
Zombies might be able to open it, as they pretty much work the same as wooden doors
