NL having war flashbacks over a muffin, only to place it in the B tier, is some of my favorite recent banter.

NL continues to have the most insane food takes ever conceived by mankind, I don't think I've ever heard a sane man say they prefer green over red bell peppers because "red peppers taste like candy".
In a savory dish a lot of people will agree with him. Adding reds to a very savory dish will often be too sweat. A salad works.

I currently live in the south and everyone here goes NUTS for greens in gumbo- they say red makes it far too sweet. I also once knew a guy who would just eat green bell peppers like an apple as a snack every day.
Maize is the candy equivalent to me. Put that on anything and you've basically made it a dessert.
red peppers are not any sweeter than like, a carrot. and green peppers are just way to bitter to eat them in any size bigger than so microscopic i dont even know they're in there.
next time someone makes me food and i dont like it i'll say "i enjoyed the mineral content"

Finally someone who agrees with my dislike of eggs. Honestly, he doesn't hate them enough. The texture of eggs is a mixture of boogers and Nickelodeon slime. They are basically flavorless and they're ghetto-cheap excuse for a protein. F tier eggs forever!!!!!!!
His rating of oatmeal makes sense once he explains that he used to eat instant oats. That shit is gross. Old fashioned rolled oats are great though, and it's definitely worth the couple extra minutes to make them.

I just bought some skyr and granola, gonna mix it with some banana and blueberries. This better rock my nuts straight to the stratosphere, egg man.
I come bearing news from the future. Did it rock my nuts? Nah. But was it pretty freaking good? Yeah, I'd say that was a very enjoyable breakfast. Low-ish cost, very low effort, good taste, probably very healthy. You're off the hook this time, Ryan.
@@Inoka01 Also greek yogurt/skyr is probably the most protein-dense food per serving on the planet aside from straight up protein powder. If you're not lactose intolerant, and are an athlete, it is the godliest food.

Eating cakes, muffins, doughnuts and such for breakfast is insanity to me.
Most of the food there shouldn't even be there. Many people just eat unhealthy food for breakfast and of course companies will take advantage.

@Tom Smith Yeah. UK scones are US biscuits, and vice versa. Although most US biscuits are savory and I think UK scones are at least partially different?
My mom makes the best Biscuits and Gravy ever, but I guess he’s only had them once, so I cut him some slack. Plus, not everyone makes them as good as Mom :)

Cinnamon rolls are not a breakfast food in Scandinavia. They're a snack to have with a cup of coffee, and we definitely don't put icing on them.
I think we have the same ones in the UK then. Kind of flaky, like a croissant?
@@BIDP- I wouldn't call them flaky, no. Pretty basic bread roll texture, a little sticky from the cinnamon/sugar mix. I'd be curious to try what you have in the UK though, flaky sounds great!

I find it hard to believe that NL himself is the “editor” behind the mean-mug choices for the video thumbnails.
Fun fact: one reason Bagels have that hole in them because Jewish immigrants in America used to stack bagels up on sticks or ropes to display and sell them. However, people argue that bagels had holes long before this technique was widely known. One reason is that bagels are so dense that they need help to cook evenly - so the hole provides more surface area for even heating. The more you know!

Overall I found your reasoning consistent and compelling. I think you did English muffins a disservice by not raising them once you decided to accept items as PART of a breakfast. Your only complaint about them was their size--one wasn't enough, but two was too much. But if they can be part of a larger breakfast, that should solve your problem.

Waffles are inferior to both pancakes and french toast. They're just barely below french toast though. Pancakes are top tier.

@@regret9423 Once you've been forced to endure terrible French toast multiple times in a short period your opinion on them might change. Also, while waffles aren't necessarily bad, making them requires a specific tool. Meanwhile, pancakes have extreme versatility and can be cooked nearly anywhere.

Buttered toast is instant S-tier. It's just one of the best foods known to man - I've literally eaten tens of thousands of slice of toast in my life and still enjoy every bite like it's the first. It's perfect. Add on that you can serve half these other items with toast to improve them further (eggs, bacon, sausages etc), and that toast itself can be easily upgraded with honey, jam or whatever if you feel like a change, and it's no contest. Best food ever.
In the future, in a playlist of Enel tier list videos, we'll call this "It's the one where he loses his mind and goes off on a rant against muffins for no apparent reason and takes 10 minutes out of an 80 minute video to make up scenarios in which a muffin is the only available food at a bakery and it's fucking weird. And I'm here for it.

I hate eggs. I don't care about the ahit I get for it. I don't want tasteless, booger textured food. I'll take a fried egg on a sandwich, but that's it. Eggs are gross in everyway...on the way in your body and out. I'll never understand someone choosing to order a dish where cheap, nasty eggs are the main component.

Here is something everyone should try: Softboiled egg with marmalade toast. No salt on the egg.
The tart bitterness of the egg makes a great contrast with the sweet-sourness of the marmalade.

Reading my own comment again, maybe I should clarify: You don't put the egg on the toast. You eat the egg with a spoon and those little cups to hold the egg in are a part of every household in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and I think also in the Netherlands, Denmark and Scandinavia.
Many people even have a special contraption to crack the egg open with in a neat and convenient manner.
The point being that this is not some weird, fringe thing. That is basic and common breakfast culture in that part of the world.
