I'm happy you like them, Gera. Thank you so, so much for your wonderful gift - that is incredibly generous. Thank you, it means a great deal and I'm really glad you find the videos helpful. 😁😍🌸
Apparently Watermelon is the new name for Cherry Bronze (according to Zoe's website). This is such a useful video, thank you so much. It will help me plan mg snap varieties for next year:-)
Ah, thanks. That's interesting but the internet hasn't caught on yet because all other seed suppliers seem to be still calling it Cherry Bronze! So glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching 😊
So appreciate the comparison; will definitely reference it--thank you so much! Fond memories of snapdragons in my mother's garden as a child--actually, I think this flower is what made me want to be a gardener. (Canada)
Annette, I honestly don't know how you remember everything!!! The pairings of snapdragons and other flowers were gorgeous. Did you grow all your snaps indoors and then planted them out?
Hi Stan, I don;t tend to collect the seeds from my snapdragons because a lot of them are F1 but also, because I grow so many varieties, they will probably cross-pollinate and then I won't know which colour will grow from the seed. 😊
I absolutely LOVED this video!! Your gardens are so beautiful!! I would LOVE to see a video where you show us the dahlias, cosmos & snapdragons that you pair together. I loved seeing the Costa Lavender snapdragon paired with the Wine Eyed Jill dahlia! You have a very keen eye for color combos!! GREAT video!!!
Thanks Beth. Take a look at this dahlia tour video and the others on my channel because I try to show what I planted with each dahlia. I think the nominations worked well this year. th-cam.com/video/vokdB0ni8Q4/w-d-xo.html
I‘m growing many of your varieties this year and potamac lavender has been the most prolific one. I‘ve been cutting and cutting from it and it just doesnt stop producing nice long stems for over 8 weeks now. I am really excited for your dahlia videos and would suggest that you try Waltzing Mathilda next year. It‘s really beautiful!!
Dear Annette, your love and enjoyment really shines through and you video today made me so happy because the detail and effort you put in is not only useful, but we get to see the beauty of all the varieties that are blooming. This year I have more than last year because some of the ones I sowed were not blooming the first year, so maybe I sowed them too late. I loved many of the ones you showed today and that last shot of them all together was glorious. My mother in law got some from a nursery this year and they are stunning bold colours, which I am hoping to get some seeds for myself if I can find a seed seller that sells seed mixes. Your joy is really coming through and is so infectious. I could easily spend hours walking in your beautiful garden and chat with you about all the colour schemes and ideas you have for planting up your flowers. Thank you, and I hope you are blessed with an abundance of your most favourite blooms. XX
Lovely video and very useful, thank you! 🤗 I don't get around watching any of my favorite garden channels regularly anymore, including yours, due to the project 'First Baby on the way'😍😊 I am happy you are still doing videos, keep up the nice work and the good vibe with your nice personality. 🤗Greetings, Judit
Truly enjoyed your comparisons on the snapdragons! I’m really drawn to those double shots even though they are short, so beautiful! Thanks for sharing, it was very helpful and informative 😊 Can’t wait to see your dahlias!!!
Annette you’ve added a few more snapdragons to my growing list! Costa lavender for example 🤤imagine that pairing with a coffee colour rose?? Very jealous of your Potomac royal - there was some sort of issue with seed over here in the southern hemisphere so not an option this season unfortunately. I’m trying to get Christmas bouquets of Potomac ivory and red so fingers crossed that timing works out. Have you considered planting your snap dragons in the autumn? I always get much healthier crops when planted in the autumn - particularly for the group ones and twos. P.s that sanguisorba is awesome!
Hi Cat, yes, I've sown snaps in the autumn in previous years but last year we were on holiday during the sowing window so I sowed in February. To be honest, they are plenty tall enough for my garden and so I don't mind that I sowed them 'late'. What a shame about the lack of Potomac Royal - I'd really miss that vibrant colour! 😊
You have opened my eyes to appreciate the Snapdragon. I always pass by the "big standard" not really giving it a thought . BUT I'd write a favourite and then you would show another 😊 I think I'm going to add a few of the Potomac line next year to add much needed height in my very small garden. Thanks for a lovely comparison and it seems to me a complimentary type of flower.
I'm going to order some bulbs. I have some in my garden already, like for the last 15 years (!), and I wasn't aware they aren't that frost hardy. I'm going to order cream, white and soft yellow, they'll combine nice with my dahlias.
This was so helpful! For the past handful of years I’ve grown the rocket variety and am getting a bit bored. I think I’ll order the Potamac series from Johnny’s Seeds here in the US come fall. I start mine always in January- it usually takes 3 weeks for mine to germinate. So I definitely need to go watch your seed starting video for tips!
Potomac dark orange is my favorite! Thank you for showing all the snapdragons next to each other... I asked for it in other video's, so really really love it! Now you can really see the difference between colours, wich normally is hard to see on video. Can't wait for more video's like this, thank you again! Love from the Netherlands.
Hi Annette first of all your flowers are so beautiful, talking about snapdragon. My neighbours snapdragon was poking through the fence, I didn't know what it was so cut 1branch and planted it and now I've got 6 plants out of that. Its a peachy colour. Watching your program makes me want to buy all colours. And love the music as well. Could you please tell me what music is that. Many thanks Anna 😊
Ooh. - Yes, snapdragon cuttings take really well and many people plant the tips when they pinch them out to get more plants and also a very helpful succession of blooms. 😊
Hi Susan, I grow all of these in cold wet England. I do find that the earlier ones to flower suffer less with the rust problem - so my Madame butterflys are currently getting rust because it's just too wet and cold 😬
What is the name of the one that watermellon looks like? I will start snap dragon next year. Thanks for exposing me to all the varieties I didn't know existed.
Hi Annie, it might be helpful to plant your out in stages, so maybe plant a few seedlings one week and then some more after 2 weeks. I've definitely found that the staggered approach will give me a longer season. 😊
Danke! Your comparison videos are very helpful!

Thanks Lisa. I think it's easier to remember everything when you love them 😂 Yes, all my snaps were started indoors on 6th February. 😊
Will you collect your snapdragon seeds to sow next year? If yes, perhaps you can show us how? Thanks for the tour and lesson.

So nice of you, Thank you Monika 😊
Beautiful snaps great video 🌺🌸how many plants are in each grouping? Thanks 😍
Hi Jane, thank you. I tend to plant in 3s or 5s. I think most of the Snaps are in groupings of 3. 😊

where do you get your seed? Beautiful!
Hi Barb, Much of my seed comes from Chiltern Seeds. 😊
what zone are you in with reference to your seed starting schedule and your average last frost date, thank-you
Hi, I think I'm in equivalent to zone 8a. We don't often get temps below -5°C
Applebossom is my favorite

I don’t have success growing from seed either🌺

Snapdragons have 4 growing groups, you would need to research the varieties along with the group number which tells you when they flower
