I own a 2014 Honda Odyssey with a driver side passenger door that wouldn't close within the last inch. I used some 'SuperClean' degreaser on both sensors and where they fit into place. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the super straight-forward video!
Thank you so much! I was stuck w drivers side sliding door open in 108° weather, and that was the problem. So easy to fix, and I had the flat, angled pliers w me too! Not even two minutes work and the door shut smoothly. Mine was the bottom sensor, I could see where they were scraping together. Another vlogger shows all this friggin mechanical stuff to fix the doors, and I was starting to get really worried. Thanks again!!!!!
Thank you for giving us hope about not spending $$$ to get the door fixed. Our fix was slightly different -- we did loosen the metal contacts and that helped, but we also had to squirt WD40 into the "latch" components because one seemed to be kind of gunked up so that the latching was sluggish. Thankful we saw this.
Thanks so much, this totally did the trick. My son took out the neighbors mailbox when he was learning to drive. When it didn’t close anymore I thought I’d need a new door 💰💰
Try rebooting before anything else--turn off the ignition; wait a bit and turn it back on. (Just like a quick fix sometimes for your computer.) Worked for me.
Thank you!! I’ve been trying to trouble shoot our 2015 Odyssey for months - cleaned and greased rails and still would catch just before closing. Loosened the bolts enough that female bracket could move on the frame - set doors to manual - closed the door and then opened slowly and tightened bolts. Turned back on and door now closes!!! Best I can tell is that as the rollers wear out the alignment of these sensors gets off and eventually it’s enough that it won’t work. I suspect if I ever swap out rollers I may need to do this adjustment again. Thanks! 💪🏼
With my 2003 Chrysler Town and Country the 'power' part of the sliding doors just stopped working... manually, it works perfectly fine, but no power option, on vehicle or key fob, just doesn't anymore. No damage to doors, just stopped. The driver's side stopped first, while the passenger side STILL worked - now neither work. If, for some reason, you don't get the door shut tight manually closing it, it WILL try to 'power lock' for a few seconds, before always failing & stopping. HELP!!!

Also use some non permanent pain on the sensor. So it marks where it goes and the adjust accordingly
That’s a great idea! I didn’t think of that. Thank you.

Glad you could fix it!
I know! Same here!
Ours will just do it randomly. Maybe about nine or 10 times in a row. I wonder if the sensors just get jostled a little bit.
Probably do. Maybe try cleaning them as well.
Glad it worked out for you!
Thank you! Same here!

Hmmmm. You might need to check k the motor or the tracks for the door. Those could be gone and need to be replaced.
Hi my pacifica sliding power door will open then close plz help
So it doesn’t stop?
It will open all the way then right o way it closes
@@joseo1672 so that sounds like something in the track. I’d search for van door track on TH-cam.
Ah she seems to be just likey wife. My left the sliding door open and it rained all night.
I am fuming!!
Yikes. Sorry about that.
Great! Thank you

You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Does this also apply if the sliding door stops and reverses halfway? Urgently need to know smh
Hmm. I don’t think so. There could be something in the track. Or the track is off alignment
hopefully it'll work on 2012 Honda Odyssey
Yes, that’s what I have as well
make, model, year etc.........................................................................?????????????????????????????????????????

Did u know Honda is the gayest car company, anyways when my mom had this before July 2019, she had a lot of issues of the odyssey.
Haha. Thank you for that update.
Well my mom now has a 2023 Escalade
