Rolling around on that creeper like you were born to it 😁 . Should have had a barley pop to rinse that oil down . What a transformation ,if that C40 doesn’t make your heart pitter patter then you can’t have a pulse . Great video JT .👍
That was a very satisfying wash!!! I could see the barnacles flying off with the water. Put the window in it, work on the brakes, and that will be a really useful truck even if you aren't able to paint it for a while. FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!
That's almost as big of a transformation as a new paint job JT. You found a gem of a truck at the junkyard. You will have a great time fixing it up. Great video JT and can't wait to see what you do with the tractor.
Awesome... That is the nicest piece of junk I have seen in a long time.. I really like the body style of that truck. Yep old Barney-40 is gonna make a nice addition, Hell you can have a one farm car show with all the old iron you have saved. You are doing a great job, Damn Michigan rain has been funny and excessive these last few weeks down here in the south west area of Michigan. I am done with it. I am ready for the snow now. Dang I cant believe i said that. anyway. Nice job on the truck. I will keep watching for the next video..shoot when is harvest time? Later
We had a 1958 Chev dump truck on our dairy farm, my Dad bought it at an auction. It had a big straight 6 Cylinder gas motor. I liked working on it, everything was simple, and didn't need to be a licensed mechanic to work on it. I changed the oil, I am not sure what weight oil I put in it, that was probably 1979 I did that, it had the old style oil filter housing, I changed the plugs too, put a new engine air filter in her, I think it needed some hydraulic oil in the pump for the dump. The driver's side of the seat had springs poking out, so I put an old coat over it. It served me well until around 1981 when the spindle for the front driver's side wheel broke off. We towed it to a fence line, and later that summer we brought it to the machine shed, and removed the front of it, and turned the back of it into a dump trailer we could tow with the MF1080 tractor. Back when I was young, in the 60's, and 70's we dumped stone we took off of the fields into the fence lines. It became all too apparent we needed to do something else with all that stone, that's why Dad got the dump truck to begin with, we loaded it up in the field, and I drove it to the woods where there was a natural high area, good for dumping loads off of. Here in Ontario, Canada, depending on the area, you always have a good crop of stone in the Spring! The truck we had looked alot like this one, except ours had a much bigger dump on it with a proper tailgate. www.truckpaper.com/listing/auction-results/216838217/1958-chevrolet-c60-dump-trucks
So now we know why you can fix so many things !! you worked on vehicles for 20 years 😁 It sure payed off with what you are up to now. It shows I didn't watch your video because it moved away too soon but I enjoyed it Thanks for taking the time.
That C40 Cleaned up real nice! The engine sounds Great. Will make you a nice truck right along with it's two Big Brothers. Two of the best trucks I have kept running for over 50 years are my 68C50 and 64 CM80 Tandem. Can't beat Chevy Power. TGP
It's set up the same as Your GMC Gus, other than it came with the 409 CI engine, which was replaced in the Late eighties with a GoodWrench 427because of parts availability for a rebuild. There's pictures under the 60 -66 Gallery page at the stove bolt forums. Also two trucks in the 73-87 gallery page. Black 77K30 and Blue 84K30 with 5.9 6BTA Cummins TGP@@jtsbarnngrill6873

For an old bucket it cleans up nicely and definitely sounds the business!! Great video. I always look forward to what you get up to next! Definitely going to need more shed space for this lot😂😅😊
The condenser is actually more important than the points, The points only switch current to the condenser, but the condenser stores the energy to fire the coil. A weak condenser will make an old Chevy hard to start when it gets cold.
Between the tune up and the wash, you would never know it came out of a junk yard. Great job man, thanks for showing us it just take some elbow grease.
My grandpa had a 67 chevy truck like that. Light blue color. Might have been a c50. Had the 6 cylinder in it. The thing was absolutely mint. The only imperfection in the paint was where you stepped to get in the truck. Spent its whole life shedded except for the 1/4 mile round trips it made from the field to the bins in the yard and to the grain elevator 5 miles away. Had very low miles, something like 15000 on it. Unfortunately, my uncle sold the truck to a roofing company when my grandpa died. Really should have kept that gem. If that thing has a pto would be nice to find a grain box with the removable sides, so can use as a flat deck for around the farm, and as a spare grain truck in the field to keep the combine going longer
@jtsbarnngrill6873 I know you sound like you're gonna paint it the light blue, but it'd sure look good if it matched gus and sully. That's just me though
I remember seeing those trucks sitting brand new at the dearlership, that blue was popular then, that blue with a white top was popular too.Oh BTW yeah we would allow that truck in.

Nice job and good sounding truck. If course the colour scheme is important, nice John Deere green with yellow wheels and top of the cab too. Black tray and chassis lol. But being honest, she does look good, handy for picking seed and fertilizer up, infact great as a general all round runabout. Good work mate.
Nice one j.t. the truck is pretty good for how old it is. I take it you going to paint it same colour as your other 3 trucks. You make your own back for it so got diesel tank then put some side box's then leave the middle open so you can go get parts or be able to put a spare tractor wheel in it. And small crane. Just like most off service trucks you have over there. From Andy in uk

Should let that old filter drain out fully and clean it up and use it for a shop decoration. I’ve never seen one either. Thx for the video.
