We had a 1966 Chevy grain truck for the farm. The vacuum booster with the master cylinder and lines is your actual breks. The one on your petal is the master cylinder that runs them like a hydrolic clutch system. The old truck sounds good and will be a awesome truck when you are done with it.

I hate to say this but you never get an old Ford sit in the wild do that gas tank has to be drained carburetor have to be rebuilt. Points have to be replaced. Condenser rotor cap with Chevrolet is a hard to kill. Just a little bit of gas. I thought it would start after you file the points cuz they sit there and rusted. But anyway, nothing like a rock.

That's a Nice old Chevy. All the common rust spots too! 69 was the first year for the 350 sb. I have a 68 C50 with the 327,4speed,2sp rear. I've had it for 40 years. Great truck. There's a canister type fuel filter on the right frame rail under the pass. side door, if you haven't found it yet. Also the Red 10 ga. wire must connect to the Pos. post clamp and feeds the junction block on the rt, inner fender for the main power supply. She's a Keeper TGP

I can picture that C40 pulling a gooseneck dump or equipment trailer. It'd be absolutely awesome if it had 2-speed rear. Growing up, we had a '74 or '75(?) C60 w/350 V8, 4 speed, split rear, & 15' custom grain body. Really cool feature was tilting fiberglass hood like the big boy semis had. It did awright as they say.
Glad she turned out to be a runner. No one will have a pickup to challenge this one, and that original blue is quite nice. Green house paint just doesn't cut it..
Sadly a lot of c40 and up and f500 and up trucks of the sixties and seventies and even the eighties have been scrapped because of the brake system alone. I've got a 75 f700 dump truck that I can't even get a brake booster for anymore without just removing the booster and sending it in to be rebuilt in Texas and then sent back to me at a cost of nearly $800. There are a lot of folks that won't put that type of money into that old a vehicle. They'll scrap them and take the money and run.
Another winner. Being a C 40 does that mean it’s not 2 ton? I’m not to familiar with Chevy heavy duties. Another great job despite varnish in the tank.

Helpful household hint: Instead of pouring gas down the carburetor, I pour some on the paper air filter and reinstall. That way, the engine pulls the vaporized gas fumes in as you crank it, and if it backfires, the fire is easily contained in the air cleaner.
If ya'll are careful and only hold on to the other end of the plastic on the screwdriver and it isn't wet, ya'll kin use the screwdriver to check spark on the points. Course not being careful will give you an anti-depressent shock therapy.

hydro vac yes rebuild bellow rather convert to hydralic air systems are not worth it just take old master off get newer medium used new set up takes few and but worth it

The push button has 2 clips on it. One goes on the hot side the other goes on the solenoid jumper post. The hot wire goes directly from the + on the battery to the + on the coil

I have a ‘68 F-250 hear in the UK. Those of us with classic vehicles are told not to leave gas in them during our winter lay up, as it goes off around 6 months old. Mine will most certainly only run on fresh gas the following summer.

We have gas with 10% Ethanol, so the classic guys go for the premium product that is usually 5% or less ethanol, to help resist fuel system corrosion, but 6 months later, you can hardly light it with a match. Many mowers go into workshops after winter because ‘it won’t start’. 90% of the time, new gas, and they’re away. Love your channel mate, keep it up, and have fun 👍
