Freewing F-22 90mm Raptor 8s Compared to LX F-22 Twin 70mm, Watch What Happened

- Knew the LX model to be inferior in structure, But never expected this. Stick to Freewing if you want your plane to do more than just look good.

The freewing looks like a real F-22. The LX doesn't look anything like one. That's a big plus for freewing, they did a great job!

To me, the biggest difference is that the Freewing is more accurate to the actual plane in looks (without thrust vector), though the LX has the correct functionality of the real plane.

Oh yeah! I have a Freewing F22 and it looks and feels really nice. Good job on bringing those 5 holes out Skip, didn't realized until you show it. One thing FW could of done is give us a few drop thanks.

The holes are production holes for holding the spars in the foam moulding process.

Additional intakes for high alpha maneuver. LX’s common solution.
not filled & they got sloppy with the time- thats the things to show off! .. the ONLY elapor jets i would pay for make me a carbon-mould with my scanner& 3 D Printer, a real time-jump with 3D Printers for Moulds & made Jets from Carbon! , $$$$ 😉👍🏼✌🏼🗺🌐
Time to go shop for new speakers to replace the ones that blew out from watching this video.
Took a few flights and re-installing the elevator linkage on the Freewing F-22 and now it’s so stable and easy to fly (AR8360T) that I’d hand over my ix12 to someone that just learned to takeoff, fly and land the Apprentice s-15. The Freewing F-22 is just a blast to fly. And it’s hard to get the “Gaser’s” out of the hangar when I fly. This jet gets them out and watching. (Not my pilot skills, but how pretty the F-22 is in the air)
Yep same thing happens when I try to fly the banana hobby pak fa T50 edfs throw off all of the blades. That's why I switched them out for 50mm change sun units. The only plane that I got from banana hobby that flew like a champ was the sky angel mig 15 50mm. That plane was amazing the damage it took and kept on going.
Happened to me too with the F-35 just as it was taking off the impeller broke you can hear it zing as it smashed back into the ground. LOL LOL cheap pieces of Chinese crap, but they're fun!!

I have a really big pet peeve about freewing not having leading edge slats on jets that could use them for stability in post-stall situations. I love my freewing jets, but part of me wants to give LX another chance. I do definitely recommend never using their power systems or servos, but I haven't put good electronics in one yet. I'm curious.
No wing spar in the original F22 lx. But I think they changed that

Have Never flown mine, Don't trust the LX models. I have 3 and probably display only otherwise they may only fly once... Bad electronics and servos and fans break under power. Happened to me on the table.
Stick with Freewing. The 90mm with inrunner is plenty. I only got the high performance model because I wanted the inrunner for power and efficiency.
@@SkipBuiltRC sure. I love my freewing stuff, and like you said none of my BH models have survived their maiden flight. I am tempted to just buy the airframe one time though. If it works I may change my mind on their stuff.

Yeah, I've never flown the LX. Just don't trust it or the electronics. I did put freewing fans on it though. But the linkages to control surfaces leaves much doubt. They connect with a series of toggles and push rods to slats and flaps. Realistic appearance, but not good build quality. Excellent Choice on the Freewing. Check out the Lights I put on it in one of the other videos. I put the lights on it that should have come on it in the 1st place. Thanks for Watching, Skip

Hi mr skip-built rc on your lx twin 70mm f22 was it advertised as a PNP? If so did you have to install any of the servos?
No. Everything but battery and receiver is built in
@@SkipBuiltRC Thanks for the info.I got the Lx PNP from banana hobby and they had a bag with 4 servos in it and when i saw the that bag i knew that was not a PNP so i contacted them but they did not want to pay the return shipping on the f22 so i sent it back with me paying the return shipping and called pay pal and told them what happened!They refuned me me the price of the airplane only. I will never do any business with them again.
@@leejimerson3354 perhaps that's their version of plug and Play, but still four servos that wouldn't be enough. Unless some of the servos were installed and those were only for thrust vectoring or something but I don't recall it working that way. There was a servo for each vertical stab. On for each horizontal stab. 2 servos each wing , not to mention the canopy eject servo. I count 9.

Had the LX it flew real nice but landings were a bear, I blame the linked controls particularly the thrust vectoring

Skip-Built, RC. Sounds good. I think I’m going to go down to the basement and practice on my sim since it raining. Plus a lot cheaper to push the button then to pick up pieces, but not as fun.
Thing is 4 months ago I bought 2 Dr Madthrust 1900w edf's and servo's for this bird, and now unavailable. Bought from Toucan and now out of stock. That was the 3rd. So stuck with all this electronic, or get the bird.
How does the LX one fly? It seems really poorly designed compared to the F22. Lack of wing spars, EPS foam, bad electronics. Love the slats and vectoring on it tho wish the Freewing one came with them
Haven't trusted flying the LX yet. I hear they fly good, just don't bank too hard or the wings will fold
Ooooh but that's gonna be so tempting to do though HAHAHA. Why would they make a thrust vectoring jet that will turn into bean bag stuffing when you pull some Gs LMAO. I'll probs just get the Freewing and put TV and slats on it myself then :))

Lol I have the LX F-22 and have NEVER experienced any of the problems you seem to be having! I have well over 100 flights on it and it's my "go to" bird! I did have to epoxy the LG in instead of that rubber cement they use, I'll give you that! I didn't mount the missiles under it, seeing as the 22 doesn't carry armament under the wings, did away with the silly canopy ejection crap too. I fly it with a 5300mah 75c 6s pack pushed as far back as I can get it and it flys GREAT!! I locked the forward slats with some flat carbon embedded underneath the wings. There hasn't been any need to add spars to the wings either, and I've pulled some serious high G yank and banks with it!! All stock electronics as well, took about 15min per rotor to just give them alittle more balance. Never blew one up like that!! I wouldn't be so quick to trash that bird, it's a solid flying plane!!
Thanks my friend. I have already fixed it with upgraded fans when I noticed the twin 80 amp esc's. Good ones too. Metal housing edf's and nice motors. Should be worth another round. What is the C.G. on this bird, as it came without instructions of any kind, except for the useless gadgets I've left alone as well. By the way, I have seen pictures of the Raptors carrying drop tanks, but not missles….LOLOL But I Need a Good C.G. spot to give it a try. Thanks in advance, Skip That fan surprised me too as I've run it up before without a problem??? LOL
I went with the usual 1/3 cord at the root. Drop tanks yes.......the missiles are carried inside, I never understood why LX did that with the missiles. Lol

Not off hand, just measure the length of the wing at the fuse and divide it by 3. Then you can either use the measurement in inches or convert it to millimeters.
It really is a great flying bird once you epoxy the LG. It doesn't deserve the negativity that other LX models definitely deserve.

Yep, bananahobby jets are cheap innards - best thing I did was buy their 70mm F-22 and put my power and electrics, using only retracts identical to theirs. Hind sight but their stuff as kits is the smart way to get their super scale realism. Read lots of negative reviews about operation failures on most of their jets

You need a GOOD seperatky purchased radio and receiver
Hobby grade planes usually don't come with their own transmitter.
