Honestly, I didn't like that version's origins. On it's own it would've been ok and interesting. But as the latest in a line of de-mythifications - the Thirteen Primes were just warlords who bought their own hype, the matrix of leadership gets destroyed, Primus turns out to be just the first Cybertronian rather than God - it was annoying that they were taking all the magic out of yet another cool thing. @@cybertramon0012 see, I liked it because it fit with a central theme that went thru the book across all those writers: imperialism will kill you. The cybertronians in this series were the most powerful civilization that ever existed. In other stories where an ancient, eldritch civilization loomed over a story as an insurmountable force, *that’s Cybertron* They waged a war that outlasted civilizations to the point where other spacefaring nations policy is to shoot cybertronians on sight due to their capacity for destruction. They’re like the reapers from mass effect if they were sitcom characters. That’s *terrifying* And to have it be revealed that these characters have this power by virtue of circumstance rather than divine will, and all the problems in the series stemming from the consequences of their imperialism, makes it a pretty engaging story for me. We’re not following a bunch of characters beyond our understanding; we’re following a bunch of incredibly callable people with more power than they realize coming to grips with the fact that they were *always* the problem. Last Bot Standing puts a nice bow on the whole thing, too
Fun fact: In his very first introductory appearance, Unicron was voiced by legendary actor Orson Wells, IE the War of the Worlds radio play Orson Wells, it was his very last performance before dying in fact, and Gods save me he gave such an incredible performance despite not being able to give any less of a Sh@t about the role. Literally, he cared so little about it, he didn't even know the name of the character he was playing and described his role as "I play a big toy that attacks other toys." Bizarrely, that complete lack of giving a sh@t was perfect, because he voices Unicron with this perfect sense of pomposity and arrogance, like everything is so far beneath him, why *would* give even the slightest sliver of his attention to the tiny, scurrying things, desperate trying to hold him off?
Both in this battle are literally a force of the universe with a type of "corporeal form" Whether we are talking a mechanical body or a body manifested from the power cosmic...... This is going to be extremely interesting
Don't be surprised if one of them gets punched or kicked into another universe. This has the potential to become a multiversal battle. The Omniverse will not be the same after this battle or should I say war?

Galactus has gotten his ass kicked a couple of times without the ultimate nullifier but unicron can only be beaten with the matrix of leadership I think uni takes it
If I remember correctly, Unicron had made the dark spark. His version of the Matrix of leadership. It allows you to bend the wills of the inhabitants of the universe to Basically dominating zombies and people to do your bidding. That's just a fraction of his near infinite power
Galactus is busted OP, as anything Marvel really. He'll win via some Power Cosmic shenanigans or the Ultimate Nullifier, that can erase multiversal abstracts such as the Griever, who could destroy multiple universes at once and was the multiversal embodiment of entropy.
@ItsQbiKS I would agree... except for the fact that Unicron was always there. He was never permanently killed. Just appeared into an other Universe. You can destroy universes, but aslong as there is one more universe, he'll be there. I don't know if Galactus can survive that. Not only that, but Unicron is consistently more ruthless. Compared to Galactus who is somewhat remorseful and reasonable for his actions. Unicron doesn't care. He will be committing mass genocide without as much as an afterthought.
@@Theonewhocaptions Galactus has survived every time the main Marvel Comics Universe has been literally destroyed and recreated. Essentially true; prior to IDW Comics' 'shrouding' event, Unicron was literally an omniversal being, so yes, the comparison to Darkseid is valid; to permanently kill him in that case would likely require the total destruction of literally *EVERYTHING*, everywhere, everywhen...and if so, is Galactus willing to go that far, despite his own goals?
@@CapeMikeand to note, Unicron had actually done this. He's consumed the entire Transformer multiverse. Not just planets, but all of space time itself. @@CapeMike in Death Battle, morals against any kind of killing are thrown out the window, so it’s not necessarily a matter of whether he will but a matter of whether he can
I think the reason people lose their minds in the mere presence of these gigantic, enormous combatants is because the writers took a page from "The Call of Cthulhu" which is a concept of the human's fragile mind when introduced to infinity. Maybe I'm just overthinking
I hope they bring up how Unicron WAS actually destroyed in one universe, causing every other version of him to become their own being, an event that created a singularity so massive that it created bizarre errors in reality...which is the canonical explanation for every single animation error in the cartoons.
Partially yes - the issue was Unicron’s spark was forged into Armor for Megatron but because of that, the destruction of the Energon Star he was trapped in, and the universe starting to break down thanks to Unicron no longer being a proper factor in that universe - caused the Singularity. Thanks Megatron.
I like the Transformers Prime backstory where instead of becoming Cybertron's moon, Unicron basically became Planet Earth, explaining Mankind's inherit EVIL!
In G1 he was planet sized, in Armada he is the size of one of Cybertron's moons, & in Prime he is Earth's core. It seems like the character becomes smaller in every following incarnation.
@@R0-83-RT Oh no, it wasn't that he was the planet's core. It's that he was the entire planet. He could make avatars for himself out of the stone of the Earth because it was all equally a part of him.
My very first ever introduction to nerd culture was a comic saga involving Unicron. Seeing him finally in a death battle takes me back basically 15 years and it's awesome!
I am Unicron. I am the darkest corner of your mind. I am the cruelty hidden in your heart. I am savagery. I am rage. I am hate. Every murder you imagine, every bleeding fantasy, every vengeance. Every repressed urge, every unrealized perversion. I am all of these.
Alongside being able to control or warp the minds of living beings, Unicron can also raise and control the dead with Dark Energon. He can literally make an Army of the Damned from Cybertronian corpses that will either kill you in undead rage or feed on uour very life essence... if you are a cybertronian.
Fun fact, it can revive and corrupt others as well, just like Energon can be used to alter humans and such. It’s just not seen that often because it’s not usually needed or beneficial. Also the driving people mad has happened to organic beings as well. That’s how he revived in the Cybertron comic. It’s more that usually Cybertronians are the only thing that even seems like a threat to him, than that it doesn’t work on non-Cybertronians.
I've been calling Unicron "Robot Satan" for years! I didn't know it was such a popular term when describing him. And as a Transformers fan, I kinda knew most of this.
To be fair The Fallen also has pretty direct Lucifer parellels with being akin to a fallen angel sent down to hell, hence the Fallen's design having a fire motif and him being sent to a imprisoned dimension. Though I always did feel Unicron's horns did somewhat invoke Satan, alongside the wings.
“For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron. But now, you shall witness… IT’S DISMEMBERMENT!!!” Unicron - The Transformers: The Movie -1986
Gotta respect how they’ll include the Convention-exclusive comics and every TF cartoon ever to remind everyone “Oh yeah, every Unicron ever is the same guy.” Even when Hasbro tried to retire the concept in the Shattered Glass comics, they ended up bringing it back for ROTB character bios and Netflix’s WFC Trilogy.
Considering how most people in the comments want extremely powerful or characters with unique powers...... I feel like most of the audience would be underwhelmed with that one
Galactus has fought and defeated other beings just as if not more powerful than Unicron with supposed invulnerability, namely the inbetweener, not to mention the Ultimate Nullifier, which can and has deleted abstract multiversal beings before
My money is on Galactus simply because of the scope of the enemies they face. Unicron is Multiversal cyber satan but he usually only fights cybertronians with unique and specific equipment that can contend with said Unicron that vary in power and effect. Meanwhile Galactus has continuously fought the S-Class hero’s of Marvel with varying effort which includes even gods like Thor, Hercules and even Odin who is absolutely busted in marvel. Hell silver surfer has only a sliver of galactus’s power and we all know how powerful he is with the power cosmic.
On a side note, does anyone else find it interesting that we’ve gotten origins from at least three different Transformers continuities in this show? Optimus Prime had his cartoon origin, Megatron had his IDW origin, and now Unicron has his Marvel Comics origin!
You know, it is amazing how we had a second Transformers character in this season right after we had a second Dragon Ball character in the same season last episode. Also, if we want to count Marvel Comics, we also have had two characters from Marvel who use the Power Cosmic.
Oh, goody. It seems that Unicron's lore remains in tact, along with the scale of his power. Now the only question remaining is how he measures up to Galactus in Death Battle.
For anyone interested (or CARE) here’s a review of the Season 10 DEATH BATTLES teased in the zodiac wheel. Ant-Man VS Atom: Atom.--Both characters can shrink down to microscopic size. Chosen Undead VS Dragonborn: Clashing Swords-RPG protagonists who's commonly associated weapon is a sword. Swords are associated with a medieval theme, which is the time period for both characters' series. Killua VS Misaka: Dollar Sign-Killua's family is rich and Misaka uses a coin as her weapon. Stitch VS Rocket: Wave--Stitch lives in Hawaii, the islands belonging to many beaches, waves provided for surfing. The advertisement for the fight had a summer vacation theme. Darth Vader VS Obito: Lotus-The lotus flower symbolizes rising from a dark place into beauty and rebirth. Also, Infinite Tsukuyomi is in the form of this type of flower. Phoenix VS Raven: Yin & Yang-The Yin & Yang symbol represents being on both sides of morality (good and bad), which relates to both characters’ conflicted personalities and forms. The fight itself has a theme of light vs dark. Guts VS Dimitri: Waxing Crescent-In the Berserk lore, the eclipse (aka occultation ceremony) is what caused both Griffith’s turn to evil and Guts’ tragedy. Fire Emblem Three Houses has a Azure Moon route. Martian Manhunter VS Silver Surfer: Star-Both are aliens from space, which stars inhabit. Bill Cipher VS Discord: Question Mark-Both characters are chaotic and unpredictable. Cole VS Alex: Scales-Both InFamous and Prototype are themed around morality, choosing between good and evil, resulting in different routes and endings. InFamous has the most mechanic based around this. Frieza VS Megatron: Shuffle-Both characters have the ability to transform. Also, depending on the circumstance, both have teamed up with their enemies. Gojo VS Makima: Pentagram-Both deal with demonic presences (Curses and Devils). Makima being a Devil herself Scooby VS Courage: Suit-Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc catch “monsters” who turn out to be just people in disguise. Scooby too wears disguises. Rick VS Doctor: Beaker-Both are intelligent, associated with sci-fi and technology. Goku VS Superman 3-Recycle. DEATH BATTLE was recycling a past matchup they've done. Galactus VS Unicron: Crossbones-Both are chaos-bringers. A bunch of death comes from eating planets. --Which one would you guys change? I would change the matchup for the dollar sign to Joker (Persona5) vs Giorno Giovanni (JOJO), because Joker steals treasure and Giorno's persona is named after gold, which is worth alot of money.
That's pretty much the same result as my decode lol. I am still skeptical if Scooby vs Courage is the man in the suit, but I can't really think of a battle that fits it better without having a more fitting symbol.
Fun Fact: there are characters in both Marvel Comics and Transformers who share the names Firestar and Wasp, and when they were trying to come up with names for Carnage, one of the potential names they picked out for him was Ravage
I'm gonna miss me writing down "Galactus vs. Unicron," in nearly every Death Battle video. Ten years of waiting and it's finally happening. Now I got to figure out which Death Battle I want to see, and hope it doesn't take another 10 years for them to happen. Let's see... Umm... How about... Dark Kahn (Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe) vs. Ultron-Sigma (Marvel vs. Capcom) Or... Lord Drakkon (Power Rangers) vs. Batman who Laughs (DC)
I usually complain that Deathbattle is really just decided by whichever character has sloppier or more fanciful writing, but in the case of Unicron, that IS the essence of the character. The marketing line for the movie in which he was introduced was “beyond imagination”. Unicron is to transforming war robots as Cthulhu is to us.
And depending on storyline, Galvatron acts as Unicrons' own version of the silver surfer. In one Story line he pulled a triumphant Galavtron from his timeline to do his bidding in the G1 marvel comic. Pissed that Galvatron off something fierce.
I am so hyped for this one. I love me some Unicron. Saw the movie in the theaters twice same day in 86. I’ve followed all iterations of Unicron as that’s usually when most versions of Transformers usually gets serious. All that being said, even I know only the Ultimate Nullifer may give Galactus pause. Can’t wait to see how this shakes out😮
Even though Unicron died a lot, but he hasn’t learn to stay dead permanently. And there are only a couple things that can truly kill him, the Matrix of Leadership, the Requiem Blaster, and the Talisman.
@@zachpottinger1842 oh right. But he was possessing Megatron and the Requiem Blaster destroyed both him and the artifact needed for Unicron to possess other Cybertronians. So would that not technically mean the blaster only destroyed links to Unicron, not Unicron himself?

Not quite non-canon. It was done away with in-universe. Unicron (and Primus and the Thirteen) used to be multiversal singularities, but they aren’t anymore. Nexus Prime used the Terminus Blade to strengthen the walls between universes, which split everyone across dimensions.
I’m curious if the full discussion will also mention Analgomois… or that in Armada, his body was near immortal thanks to him feeding on the negative emotions his attack on Cybertron was causing… Or the fact that he’s a Lord of Chaos as well… or that he’s consumed a Multiverse before… there is a LOT Unicron has done… or even that the Minicons in Armada were created by Unicron to reignite the war to make him stronger…
There's definitely a possibility he can. The ultimate nullifier is a thing and... yeah, that thing is a win condition in and of itself. Unless he pulls that out, I can't guarantee a victory for either one of them, honestly
@@Aurum-196 that's why I said it's a possibility. We've never seen the ultimate nullfier used at full power, so... im not in any position to say for sure if it's a guaranteed win

I'm just realizing in this fight, using there usual sizes, Galactus is TINY compared to Unicron. Calactus is usually the height of a sky scraper, Unicorn is the size of THE MOON. I'm sure Galactus has Power Cosmic abilities to grow in size, but I really hope the fight starts with Galactus appearing in new York, looking all powerful and mighty, then a shadow falls over him and we see Galactus slowly look UP at his opponent.
@@chongwillson972 but Galactus doesn't "eat" the planet like food. he has machines that covert it into energy he absorbs. he usually does that while standing on the planet doesn't he?
Galactic has grown bigger to physically eat Planets and the likes, he just usually doesn’t do so as by that point he be using up more energy than he be gaining back eating them. So that’s why he uses machines to do so instead, and because of this path of least resistance strategy, other Alien civilizations have actually managed to convince him to leave them alone by threatening to suicide bombing themselves and any nearby Solar Systems and even their Galaxy in the case of the Kree Empire.
God I'm so excited! This has been one of the only matchups I've actually been *_wanting_* to happen for so long. But THIS matchup is one that I've been actively praying to happen now for over a decade. And with the videos about both of them, I can tell they're going *_ALL OUT_* for this climactic battle of astronomical proportions!
I have to admit I will look this closely. I know Unicron is a multiversal being who has eaten around 30% of the TF multiverse (which included marvel comics at one point, check when Spider-Man appeared on one of the early TF comics). Don’t have much info on Galactus, so I am not gonna place my bets just yet
There’s a different version of Galactus in each universe, but across the entire infinite Transformers multiverse there is only ONE Unicron. He eats Galactus for a snack
*_Was_* only one Unicron. They retconned Multiversal Singularities years ago. Now there are *_many_* Unicrons, some stronger than others, each confined to a different universe.
If Galactus could eat dormammus entire realm without getting taken over I don't think this dark energon is gonna be a problem. All I see is a means for Galactus to always be fed. Dude might just keep unicrons spark around for limitless energy.
Yeah doubt that Dark Energon is going to be of much use. Primarily because it would take too long to poison Galactus’s body since it would usually take a while of constant exposure for it to affect Cybertronians. If Galactus had any organic components left it could slightly affect him like it did Raf in that one episode of TF:P when he was exposed to Dark Energon, but even so it probably wouldn’t do much to Galactus overall.
@@manofmercy1500 Galactus is entirely cosmic energy. That's why he looks like the race of whatever is looking at him. Looking at his true form drives people insane. So no organic components.
@@doublehelix2167 Yeah didn't think so. And even if he did it probably wouldn't be as susceptible to highly potent poisons like Dark Energon due to the Cosmic Energy.
That's no longer the case in canon. Hasbro had it retconned back in 2015 because it both contradicted other canon lore and limited potential storylines for the character. Basically, there *_used_* to be only one super-powerful Unicron, but after an event called "the Shroud," which strengthened the barriers between dimensions, he was split into many weaker incarnations scattered throughout the multiverse.
I hope we get a good fake out, I want to see galactus consume unicrons spark only to get possessed by dark energon and lose. I don't think this will happen since they have massively scaled marvel in the past but we will see.

@@cybertramon0012 see, I liked it because it fit with a central theme that went thru the book across all those writers: imperialism will kill you.
The cybertronians in this series were the most powerful civilization that ever existed. In other stories where an ancient, eldritch civilization loomed over a story as an insurmountable force, *that’s Cybertron*
They waged a war that outlasted civilizations to the point where other spacefaring nations policy is to shoot cybertronians on sight due to their capacity for destruction.
They’re like the reapers from mass effect if they were sitcom characters.
That’s *terrifying*
And to have it be revealed that these characters have this power by virtue of circumstance rather than divine will, and all the problems in the series stemming from the consequences of their imperialism, makes it a pretty engaging story for me.
We’re not following a bunch of characters beyond our understanding; we’re following a bunch of incredibly callable people with more power than they realize coming to grips with the fact that they were *always* the problem.

Primus was part of Cybertron, so it'd make sense for him to investigate. Though the question is if it's gonna be 2d or 3d.

I looked up a video of Orson Wells Unicron and the very first comment I saw debunked this whole thing. Apparently, that quote has no official source.

They also did that in _The Last Knight,_ as I recall!

Frieza VS Megatron: Shuffle-Both characters have the ability to transform. Also, depending on the circumstance, both have teamed up with their enemies.
Gojo VS Makima: Pentagram-Both deal with demonic presences (Curses and Devils). Makima being a Devil herself
Scooby VS Courage: Suit-Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc catch “monsters” who turn out to be just people in disguise.

The marketing line for the movie in which he was introduced was “beyond imagination”. Unicron is to transforming war robots as Cthulhu is to us.

Sadly Death Battle doesn't do fake outs, they should do ngl
They already did it once this year with frieza vs megatron though.. a unicron herald. foreshadowing maybe? lol
I really wish they have old soundtrack ready for that video. "Entropy now decends."
Cause this is so exciting.
As a Transformers fan, I’m so excited for this episode! 🔥
Ah so they're going with pre shroud Unicron
Makes sense seeing as most of his most impressive feets were before the shroud (which erased the concept of multiversal singularities) so it's understandable
The apocalypse has never been so hype.
I am Unicron. I am the darkest corner of your mind. I am the cruelty hidden in your heart. I am savagery. I am rage. I am hate. Every murder you imagine, every bleeding fantasy, every vengeance. Every repressed urge, every unrealized perversion. I am all of these.
Unicron should win this fight with ease.
@@JSRFModCentralhe loses with ease
Unicron destroyed the entire transformers multiverse in the past, which consisted of infinite universes and 17 dimensions.
@JSRFModCentral yeah, problem. Galactus has no dimensions.
Just imagine if Galactus wins Unicron becomes his Herald🎉
I first starting watching Death Battle a few days after the Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter episode premiered. I binged the series in like two to three days and have hoped and prayed for 2 specific death battles.
Gizmo Duck vs Inspector Gadget and this Galactus vs Unicron, Monday can not come soon enough.
Team Unicron
One of his avatar ate the whole Multiverse for breakfast, unless you got the matrix youre dead
And the touch. You need the touch defeat Unicron
