What's sad is that new kpop fans don't even know her or worse disrespect her and her accomplishments. She basically was the first to do it in kpop for everything. She is the idol of their idols.

I think part of the reason she's called the Queen of Kpop is that she influenced practically everyone who came after her and since she debuted in 2000 that's a big chunk of kpop. Listening to the older songs again with you I was reminded of what was to come later from f(X), 2NE1 and The Ark's Jeon Minju, who was known as "Little BoA." The autotuned, heavily processed vocals make those older songs sound dated but that was the trend back then even with great singers like her or male groups like TVXQ and Super Junior. My favorite song by BoA is the retro swing song Jazzclub, which was a Japanese release - she has an enormous following in Japan. Atlantis Princess is her must-hear iconic classic and I also really like One Shot Two Shot and Nega Dola.
BoA continues to be my ultimate bias in the whole Kpop and Jpop industry since 2005. She’s an ace who can sing, dance, compose and produce. Imagine debuting at 13 years old and being the most influential artist of her generation. I highly recommend Valenti, Every Heart, My Name, Camo, One Shot Two Shot, Rain (SM station) and her b-sides like Black, L.O.V.E, Encounter. Her Japanese discography is superior to her Kpop releases. For her Japanese ones, I think you’ll really like Eien, White Wishes, Possibility Duet, Winter Love, and Meri Kuri. She has been releasing bops after bops throughout her career.

I actually found her back in 2005 or so through J pop since just under half her albums are japanese and I can speak that language, though she is korean. She has full english songs and there is even a B movie with Derek Hough(one of the dances with stars pros) in the movie she is portraying a dancer in a contest in Lousiana(She speaks fluent english as well as japanese and korean, a few chinese songs as well). her early music is more pop but good, the more recent stuff as been moving into a bit of R&B and other genres. She has hard ones like Dangerous, groove like Do the Motion, Dakishimeru is good, ballads of course and a couple of my more recent favorites are Jazzclub and Manhattan Tango. I know you are a Mamamoo fan as I am, Solar has said BoA is one of her favorites.

It's not an exaggeration to say that SM as it stands now would not exist if BoA wasn't there at the time - which is the reason why literally every SM idols in the 2nd gen specifically identify her as their role model. BTW, No. 1 and Atlantic Princess cannot be missed.
Basically, imagine if Britney Spears never had a mental breakdown and became a hyper-successful/respected musician/businesswoman + influenced/mentored hundreds of next gen musicians. That's who BoA is to Korean music industry.

I'm not a fan of the production but it's one of her most iconic songs and is a must-hear.
