She wrote only one and is very personal to her and she pushed for choreography, sm wanted a pure ballad but she pushed for choreography and it really fits! 💛👑
I mean Only One is a lyrical hip hop track, not a ballad. And it’s BoA we’re talking about. Of course she was bound to have choreography for a big comeback like that.
Besides Lee Soo Man and Kenzie, BoA was the one who built SM. She's actually been a member of SM's board of directors since about 2014. It's her job to mentor young trainees and prepare them for Idol life.
Thanks for checking out BoA, one of the most influential kpop artists and unfortunately one of the most forgotten about by international fans. She was far from the first idol to dance, but she really raised the expectations for how complex kpop choreography could be. Eat You Up and Only One were both iconic for their dance and for being two of the first times that any kpop performer worked with international dancers.
BoA has a lot of music and different styles/genres you have to listen and watch. She excels in ballads and I’ve been a fan since she debuted in the early 2000s. Her new song Emptiness just released today and you have to include it in your videos
If you want to watch one of her live stages you should do the bad drive/style/sweet impact 08 live clip from one of her japan concerts, u can find it on youtube
BoA is def a dancer! I actually discovered her first (oh god, 20 years ago?) from j-pop. I thought she was originally a Japanese artist, but she has a fairly extensive Japanese catalog and exclusive tracks. U should def check those out too. "Eien" was very Michael Jackson heavily influenced!
Eat You Up is what tagged me into the fandom 😂 The dancing, the outfit 👑 Is the mv basically the plot to Step Up 2? Maybe. Do we care? No 😂 Btw BoA actually starred in a Step Up-esque film during her time in the US. It's called Make Your Move.
She was in a dance movie as the female lead with Derek Hough actually. A lot of dancers in Korea have her as their role model and see it as they've made it as dancers if they work with her on something.
Check out Sweet Impact, Bump Bump and 永遠. Those MVs are fully inspired by Michael Jackson (not so sure about Bump Bump but it did have some MJ flair in it). Edit: Only One was directed by her late brother Kwon Soon Wook (she has 2 brothers, Soon Wook is her 2nd brother. She's the youngest in their family) who passed away 3 years ago due to peritoneal cancer. May he rest in peace. And fun fact; Only One was choreographed by the famed Choreographers Nappytabs.
She also appeared along side Derek Hough of Dancing With The Stars fame in Make Your Move. A movie very much in the tradition of Save The Last Dance & Step Up. Not surprisingly giving it was done by the same director. Boa was ahead of her time. This was the golden age of K-Pop. People talk like BTS started K-Pop, and ah, that is a big fat, no!! We owe a lot of what we have now in K-Pop to artists like BoA, Jessi & Yoon Mi-Rae. Blows my mind K-Pop has artists like this right under our noses. 💕🙀🔥
We have mentioned how she is the Idol of Idols but she is also the inspiration of many professional dancers. In the dance survival show she was part of as judge (Street Woman/Man Fighter), they had to do a compilation/segment of all the dancers contestants that had BoA as the reason they became dancers. I was blown away seeing that, like realizing the influence and legacy tgis woman has in the world of arts (singing, dancing, musicians) its just wow. Truly amazing.
Kinda sad you didn't watch Copy & Paste and Shadow (double title track with Only One). Also Boa was sent to Japan, right after her korean debut, and she had a lot of Japanese releases in-between Korean ones. SM also had plans to promote her in US, so they made a whole English album with Eat You Up as a title track.
I hope you watched the MV for Disturbance in the third playlist. It's a must watch imo because it shows a different side of her. Plus the MV was directed by her brother and stars Boa and Taemin 😍 (In case you didn't know there's 2 alternate endings to the MV)
oh no wonder i had no interest in any of the songs in Part 1 when i got into kpop in 09 which is when Eat You Up released XD excited for u to get to Camo 👀
It's rare to find a channel that does a BoA reaction. Eat You Up is, in my opinion, one of her weakest songs. My favorites are Jewel Song, Winter Love and Candle Lights.
@@roguereacts I followed her more from 2003 to 2012. After that I didn't follow her as much. I really caught the time when she made more Japanese music than Korean music, and I loved the annual concerts that she released on DVD at that time.

just love that for her! 🥰
Fun fact, she's so good as a dancer, they put her as a judge for Street Woman Fighter, a competition show about professional dancing crews.
okay that's amazing!!!
She absolutely defined Kpop.
she really is! I can see how she influenced a lot of 3rd and 4th gen groups 🥰

For live performances I really hope you'll do the 2020 MAMA one she did with Taemin as a guest dancer on Only One.
Taemin is her favourite partner for the Only One. They dance together 5-6 times, at least. And he was gest on one of her MVs.
checked it out! 💙💙💙 it was fantastic!

She and Girls Generation's Kim Hyoyeon are considered the best dancers in Kpop
If you want to watch one of her live stages you should do the bad drive/style/sweet impact 08 live clip from one of her japan concerts, u can find it on youtube
would love to see the live japan sweet impact show because her
dancing is insane
I think I found the right one during the lives playlist! hope you enjoyed! 🥰
She's not a dancer. She is THE dancer
those are some straight up facts right there!

she 1000% is one hell of a dancer! I could see a lot of MJ influences in her dancing for sure!
The Empress of Kpop 👑
she's sooooo good! 🥰
I remember hearing Eat You Up on US radio back when it came out.
amazing!! 😊
Eat You Up is what tagged me into the fandom 😂

I can see why! It really was like a mini Step Up movie 😂 I might just have to watch Make Your Move some night lol
She was in a dance movie as the female lead with Derek Hough actually. A lot of dancers in Korea have her as their role model and see it as they've made it as dancers if they work with her on something.
Legit might need to watch that movie some night lol
someone correct me if i’m wrong but she composed only one and she composed + produced kiss my lips and the full album it’s from

Only One makes me so emotional, everytime.
Omg I'm not the only one lol. Brings back sad memories even tho I absolutely adore that song
Queen Boa🥰
she's absolutely amazing!!
Ooooooooo eat you up is my shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I fucking love this song and I go the choreo down pack

The sm super group is Girls on top but is also got the beat so the group stands for both in a way! They are mainly known as got the beat though!
i’m excited to see the bsides! 9 songs is tough to limit to so im keen to see what you react to

Pls do One Shot Two Shots and The Shadow too ❤
we didn't get to The Shadow MV but had a live performance 😊
Energetic is on the (Eat you up album) Sharing a English BoA MV (Energetic) th-cam.com/video/7ehZw9RGkEQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7nXTKp6N8kq1izQr
Enjoy the MV.
waoww❤
Sad you didn't pick Copy & Paste instead Hurricane Venus. It was the lead single of the repackage of her 6th album. The intro alone>>>> lives
Too bad you didn't include Energetic in this mix hopefully you listened to it later FYI (it's in English) was popular in the US.
The MJ era
Seriously can see a lot of influences from him as well as Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, and Madonna even!
@@roguereacts Yes! Paul Abdul and Janet is a bit more of the same imho 😁 everyone drank from MJ. Madonna too. The golden era of pop hehehe
