Hi Jacob.
I married my math man, but I love counted cross-stitch and bakery that takes math! Not a gamer at all! Happy that you are. Love the pattern unfolding! Thank you for all you do.
I’m terrible at strategy games, but I’m going to look this one up. Sounds interesting. Again, can’t thank you enough for these wonderful videos. You, Caroline and Kerri make a most excellent team.😊❤
Thank you Teal! I'm going to play the game again today. It's tricky, but it really is a fascinating game! I would love to play it for real with folks who know how to play it - usually that way you can learn it faster :D
Thanks for this video about Nordic games. Not that I’ll play. I think the last computer game I played was Plants vs. Zombies😂 I do love that your gaming interest is so dramatically different from cross stitch. We humans are complicated, aren’t we? But that’s what makes each one of us unique and wonderful❤️
Hehe yep! It's so cool I think how folks have wildly different interests - it's like musical tastes as well - I like so many different things for different reasons, and I think it makes life so exciting! :)
This is one of those times when you wish an anthropologist or historian gave us even much more info. Lol Love that we got the rules. I'm horrible at games though 😅 Thank you for the great video.
Yes! I know right - it's so frustrating to find so many things not being written down. In Friesland, where I'm from, lots of stuff was written down in law books at one time - which was very unique in the western world - which gives us a great insight into Frisian life at that time. But the ancient Frisians didn't write down anything - only their names in runes and that's it! :P
Thank you, Jacob. Very interesting. I’m kind of considering trying the God of War game now. I’m sure my teenage boys will be happy to help me get started 😅
@ haha, my boys expressed some doubts as to whether I know what I would be getting into 🥰 they know I dislike violence. We will see, maybe I will give it a try over the holidays
I'm not much of a gamer, don't do well with them. I think strategy games are something I'd have to spend time with and I often get impatient and "quit". I have confidence that you'll conquer this one!
Thank you Deborah! I hope one day I will - right now I'm too busy to focus on it but I will get back to this game as it really does sound like a lot of fun. :D
Can you recommend a CD or two of the music, or style of music, that you use in your intros plus in other videos. I am a retired vocal music teacher and I collect music from all over and I love the music you have been showcasing. Thanks! 🎼
Thank you so much! That's really wonderful to hear. I haven't released a CD of my songs yet - there's one song on Spotify (under my music project name "In Praise of Shadows"). I do hope to release some stuff in the future though! :)
Am I the only one who is surprised about the type of computer games that you play? The strategy themed games make sense, but I wouldn't have thought the violent war game was your cup of tea 😅
I used to play computer games many many years ago but probably much simpler than this Viking one which sounds a lot like Chess. Sometimes I'd like to play again but it would cut into all of my other craft time. 😁 By the way the little mouse on your table is So Darn Cute. Did you make it?
Thank you Alison! It's good fun but I don't play that much as I'm usually too busy. But in the winter months sometimes we get in a crazy spell of just relaxing and playing games :). The mouse I bought at the Norwegian church during their Christmas market a few weeks ago! I'm really happy with both the snowman and the mouse :)
@@ModernFolkEmbroidery It's so great, especially if you can find a friend or two to play together with! I have a server with friends - there are certain things we all do together, and then lots of little things where each person can pick and choose the things they like doing most and contribute that way... But it's definitely still fun on your own too!

Love waking up to these videos every morning as part of the Holiday Countdown! Thanks for all you do to make this event so special!
Thank you Stephanie! :)

Haha oh that's lovely :D. Yea it's nice how everyone likes different things isn't it! :D
@@ModernFolkEmbroidery Exactly, the world would be boring if we all liked the same things!

Another great video Jacob! Thank you so much for all you are putting into these!
Thank you Rosemary! :)
Thank you for sharing the board with us for the game you talked about. I have just the perfect friend to play the Viking game with!
Oh how lovely Joanne! I need to get better at the game. Half not 'superbad' would already be nice at this stage 😅

I never thought about how old and origins of games were. Interesting history of these games.
Thank you LInda! D
Thank you for sharing I so enjoy your videos.
Thank you! :)

I really enjoyed the first instalment of it - I do play "story mode" so there's less fights - but there's still enough fighting going on 😅

@@ModernFolkEmbroidery They are both adorable. Good choices.
Another challenge!
Haha yes!!! :D
Have you ever played Valheim? It's so much fun, and Viking-themed. The developers are a Swedish!
Oh I haven't but I'm going to check that out for sure, thank you for the tip! :D

How about cross stitching the board...looks like it would be lovely cross stitched as well.
I've been thinking about that - I made the drawing based on an old viking ship - and I think I should use it on a pattern at some point! :D
@@ModernFolkEmbroidery Sounds great....looking forward to it. Thanks again.
😊🎄💚❤
❤❤❤
Hope you conquer the game
Thank you Aura - I've not had much more success but we'll keep going! :D
Ben geen spelletjes mens-- geef mij maar mijn borduurwerk of een boek.
Veel borduurplezier!
Dank je Truus!
