Thank you for sharing the book and your personal stitching stories. You did the right thing to buy this wonderful book! Cherish it! Also, the Cold Sea pattern is amazing! My favorite of this video.
Thank you Else-Maria, I'm super happy with this book. Glad you like the Cold Sea Sampler - I'm going to start it soon and I'm very excited about that! :D
Some things in life are simply worth the money. Happily for us, this book inspired many beautiful designs for us to enjoy stitching. Thank you Jacob for being you!
Hi Jacob I bet that Book is so interesting to look at - I just can’t imagine all of the Beautiful Patterns that are inside of that book. Thank You Jacob for telling us about the Book and your Patterns. Happy Stitching ❤️🧵🪡🧵💙
Loved your video. The fact that you gave your cross stitch a tea bath 😱 Glad it came out to your liking. So many patterns, so little time. I'm working on your remember me piece right now. Have a great day ❄️
Thank you! Oh I'm not scared - I dunk everything in tea after stitching :P. I'm working on a pattern right now just on white linen (I like stitching on the linen how it comes off the bolt) but I will dye it briefly in tea once it's all finished and hemmed :D
@ModernFolkEmbroidery you are brave. I should try it on something I'm not attached to 😅 a small cross stitch ornament perhaps. I'm stitching your pattern in dmc 891 on white. Lifts my mood when the weather is dreary here.
@@stitchinginthemuseum It's so important to stitch with a colour that makes you happy - 891 is such a joyous cheery red - very folksy and perfect!!! :D
HI JACOB, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANOTHER ADVENTURE INTO YOUR DESIGNING WORLD. YOUR BOOK LOOKS LIKE A BRICK. BUT LOOKING AT YOUR DESIGNS INSPIRED BY IT, THE BOOK ( AKA THE BRICK) IS A TREASURED PRECIOUS 💎 SO IT'S WORTH IT & SO ARE YOU ❎❤️💎📕💎❤️❎
Hi Bev! Oh the book is even heavier than a brick! It's crazy. But it's fascinating to go through the pattern history in it. Glad you enjoyed today's visit! ❤
@ModernFolkEmbroidery HI JACOB, IF IT'S HEAVIER THAN A BRICK YOU COULD USE IT AS A SELF DEFENSE WEAPON. BUT THAT SAYS MORE ABOUT ME & MY SURROUNDINGS THAN IT DOES ABOUT YOU & WHERE YOU LIVE 🤭🤣ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR PRESENTATIONS. THANK YOU. ❎🧱❎🧱❎🧱❎🤗
I just wish you would stop making such wonderful patterns! 😂 Sadly I don't have a printer at the moment so that takes care of that. Believe it or not, I had a mistake from Day 1, yes, Day 1 that I just discovered yesterday because of the garland holding the ornaments. But it was only that the top line of Suitable was one extra stitch. I moved the far right ornament to the left and it was fixed. I just needed to tell someone! 😂 Loved today's video and the patterns. I have others of yours that will be stitched in 2025. Now that I am back on track, loving every stitch!
Hehe! Thank you :). Oh it's so frustrating when a little error creeps in! I'm stitching mine monochrome at the moment and I made a couple of mistakes as well. One was so big, and I really don't feel like frogging a huge section, so I'm just winging it... the motif is not crashing into anything and I've repeated the mistake on the other side so you wouldn't know it's there if you didn't see the pattern! :P
Hello Jacob! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful book with us. I’m such a book nut. It looks quite beautiful and sounds quite intriguing. Being so interested in tapestries myself it would be a great addition to my collection as I most recently found from my dna test that I have ancestors from that area and Sweden, Norway, etc. It is so interesting that you started making pattern books when you were very young. Do you still have them? It would be wonderful to see them. One other question. How did you decide on the name The Cold Sea Sampler?
Thank you! It really is a wonderful book. I think the pattern books are still somewhere... though I'm not sure where! I need to ask my mum, she might know :D The name "Cold Sea Sampler" came from the seas in the north (the northern Atlantic streams, the North Sea, the Baltic Sea) which are all cold seas. It's where the seas run coldest that I seem to be getting most inspiration for my patterns. :)
@ Thank you you for sharing Jacob! You bring me much inspiration. I love learning new things. It’s as though I’m insatiable when it comes to learning and my arts.
Thank you so much for sharing some of your favorite things, Jacob. I really like The Cold Sea Sampler! Such a clever border!❤
Thank you! I am excited to start that one in the new year :)
It would be so fun to curl up in front of a fire and look through that book. I love the patterns the book inspired!
Thank you! And yes indeed! If only I had a roaring fireplace...! :D.

Does anyone other than me want to see Jacob’s original pattern books that he made as a wee pattern maker😄
Haha I do too as I have no idea where they are! I think I have them somewhere...
