- Fished with family, friends, and fans of Moon's Custom Rods on the Native Sun. Captain Jeff and crew did a great job of finding biting fish for us! They were on top of everything throughout the trip and provided excellent service!

I was very fortunate to be on a trip with Joe and Moon's Custom Rods Charter on the Native Sun! Captain Jeff and crew did an outstanding job putting us on biting fish! When you flyline, I've noticed you use your fingers to get back some slack line. Is there any other purpose? or is it just to reel in some slack? Love your videos very informational and fun to watch! Also, do you prefer squid, anchovies, or sardines as live bait for yellowtail?
Great observation! I do this to pick up any slack and maintain contact with the bait. In the old days we call this backpedaling. This is a must move to maintain contact with your bait! 🤙

Just got back from a 2 day charter on the Endeavor with your buddy Moon. Think it was the same guy. We had shitty weather but still ended up with 80+ bluefin/yellowfin mix. Curious if it was the same Moon? Anyways nice wack on the yellows. Conserve and be thankful we have the yellowtail fishery we have. Would be awful if that resource was over fished. Keep what you can and release the rest. Freezer fish isn't the greatest anyways. Tight lines!

Long T. Tang Drags are really smooth. Bearings are clunky. When you wind on the reel it feels like parts are grinding together. But it gets better as you keep using it.

Nah...that dock is just for testing rods.

Alex Pham Yellows have been good at Catalina this year. They usually show up in late Spring and stay through Summer. We also got lucky on that day. Native will put you on fish. They’re good.
