That’s my favorite tackle store close to home they have great customer service and every single fishing tackle thing you can possibly think off definitely recommend this tackle shop for sure 100% all my fishing setups from rods to reels and tackle comes from Island fishing tackle.
Always a good time with you guys! Thanks for having me out to film this! Always so much knowledge and amazing to meet everyone in the industry. Keep it up brother!
These vids would be in shambles without the generous and humble guy in the background doing all the hard work. Thank you so much Alan, grateful for your friendship.
Hey Benjie. Was at Island fishing tackle scored your Island tackle box. Just getting back to salt water fishing. Leaving bassboat at home and returning to a little salt water fishing. Thanks to you and Sam. Doug Tilk . 65yr old fisherman.
Hi Douglas!! Thank you so much for sharing this, REALLY stoked that you were able to get the box and get out to Island Tackle, I messaged Sam this comment and he sent me a photo with you and the goods. I hope you make good use of it and catch some new memories!! Tight lines!!
Going out on the Pride for a 1.75 trip for WSB, yellowtail and Halibut at the islands. This is exactly what I needed to see. Thank you Benji, Anthony and of course Sam. Never stop the content.
This video was was extremely helpful for me. For someone who is new to the game, I've been struggling with what to bring to the island. This video provides basic information that I can use to make a more informative decision when buying tackle for the island.
Love this comment, this is exactly why we make these types of videos. And you hit the nail on the head...we will never tell you how you have to do it, we will merely share what we recommend and has worked for us...and folks can use that as a framework to figure out what's best for them. Tight lines!
Yea absolutely....the raw footage came out to like 45 minutes, unfortunately I made the tough decision of cutting out chunks that I didn't want to cut as I try to typically keep these vids to 15 to 20. I've got part 2 coming up though and Sam does get much more time to share. Thank you for this comment, really appreciate it.
I bought stuff from Sam at island tackle before. Great guy to deal with and makes transactions so smooth. Love the store and I live in the SF Bay Area! Definitely a shop worth visiting.
Amazing testimonial, thank you for sharing this. Sam is terrific and I am grateful to have had the chance to visit his store and share some time with him.
Great video! Thanks for the wealth of knowledge. I had Island Tackle wrap a custom Seeker rod for me, and they did a fantastic job. I am a big fan of Sam and this channel. I am heading to Catalina in 9 days, so this is a timely video.
Another great video and happy you are covering island fishing. Also never thought I would see Anthony in a polo. lol. Super close in joining you guys on the rail tomorrow. Good luck.
Gayee!!! Dude it would've been so fun to have you bro but maybe the next one! Hope you're well and taking care of yourself with how busy you are at work. Please shoot Alan in the butt the next time you guys airsoft lol!
Benjie, it's also to see you! Couldn't be a better video since you have Antony and Sam with you.I just got in from picking up a Tesoro 12 and a PCH-C-761XH from another local tackle shop. I have a trip planned for July, so I'll definitely stop in to see Sam before that.
Oh wow, that's a terrific setup!! We believe in supporting your local shop no matter where but hopefully this can help specific shops as we continue to film and check out various places. So many great shops with hardworking folks that want to help and support our love for fishing!
Hi Benjie it’s Frank what an awesome topic ! Anthony and Sam so much knowledge to share , your questions so right on brother! Always great content, Million Likes 👏🏼🤙🏽👍
Okuma has a great line of reels I have 3 of them but my personal preference is shimano it’s hard to change 😁 . Great collaboration guys with all great advice. Thanks for your time to explain .
Love this comment man, obviously Anthony and I are with Okuma but everyone has their favorites and it's all about just sharing that stoke and getting out there and having fun regardless of what brand you fish, what style you fish, and whether you're new to the game or been doing it for 40 years. Tight lines!
Hell yeah great information video for island 🏝️ fishing 🎣. I never been offshore or island fishing yet alone own any of the equipment. Thanks for making it easy for guys like me(and gals like my wife) looking forward to buying and taking my first trip. Tight lines benji🎣

do you think a size 10 reel paired with a 7ft MED HVY #30-#60 line rating. with 50 pound braid main and 25 pound floruorcarbon top shot would work for fly line? it would be for fly lining yellow tail, bonito, and calicos. and possible use for rock fishing.
Hey I was wondering how a fishing syndicate 20-40lb 8ft rod with a lexa 400 or a low profile penn fathom would work in the islands? And is that big enough set up if you do end up hooking into a 50lb bluefin?
