Very good comparison. The OM6 has better aesthetics but the Flow has more features. It would be interesting to see AI tracking incorporated in the next generation of DJI gimbals with a longer battery life as I still think DJI build quality is superior and I love the ergonomic design which makes it comfortable to hold.

I wanted a comparison for active tracking inline skating and found it here! Thanks for making a good comparison between the two. Love the aesthetics of the Osmo but rather go for the Instaflow for its fast and smarter tracking.

Great review! But the DJI updated the firmware a few months ago worth a try! I tried the active track 6.0, honestly it’s pretty good, especially when I want to track my kids. Looking forward to your further review 🙂

You forgot to do a test comparison on who has the stronger motors. A simple running with each a few times would reveal this.

How wide is the smartphone clamp? I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra and I need a phone clamp that can open to a little over 4 inches.
It’s really had to judge a insta360 product against any competition due to the amount of free give always, sponsoring etc that they undertake. To me it would appear insta360 have worked hard to improve on dji’s person tracking. Each comparison video I see just seems to focus on the flow’s advantage in this area as a result. I’m after a gimbel but not seeing a massive use for tracking the DJI’s more sturdy build and slightly bigger movement angles I think is swaying me towards it
only on tilt angle, insta360 beat dji in others movements
They also don't talk about how trash the video results are when using the Insta360 with zoom, would be nice if they really do in-depth comparison with their respective apps using the camera/app's capacity/results when recording instead of just features. We want real-world results..

Ajuda eu reclamar no site deles, no canal deles pra fazerem uma atualização pra arrumar os pontos negativos, um deles é o brilho da tela que a gente não tem o controle, diminuí o brilho da tela pra economizar carga da bateria, mais o aplicativo deles ao se conectar com o DJI OM6 volta o brilho acima da média o que é uma sacanagem com a gente, não tem a opção de desativar

@@Yohan17778 Most of those gimbals arent realy stable. They depend on the EIS of the phone. So if your phone has good electronic Image stabilization, you will be fine. If it doesnt, then dont bother....
I think the Insta 360 flow might be the first small gimbal to actually not have this issue.. But Im not sure yet.

I'm looking to get a phone gimbal for my partner that you met at Xel-Ha, but she needs one that isn't complicated. The tracking is almost the sales point that puts the Flow on top here, especially if she's tracking her kid a lot....wonder how well it keeps track during faster sports events etc....
I have noticed that the tracking feature varies from phone to phone.
My Samsung 23 lets me record people that run fairly easily, while my A53 barely has the ability to catch up with people who walk.
Xel-Ha, I lived right next to the lagoon in the late 60s. Back then it was free and the tourists would park their RVs right on the waters edge. We would eat fresh fish from the lagoon. I need to go back and do a vlog there.
Yes, I already own FLOW. And before that, he owned a DJI OM2. What can I say - FLOW has a much smaller list of compatible smartphones. Insta360 included the most expensive smartphones in this compatible list, among which there was no place for my Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S. So I'm disappointed with my FLOW and have already taken it back to my dealer
Got to say having upgraded from the osmo mobile two to the OM6 I couldn't recommend it more highly

I have a mid tier Phone..Samsung A53
Of which I have discovered a number of problems when I use my Insta360 flow together with my phone. Something that I have not seen when using my osmo mobile 6.
Example
1.When I record in 4k combo with motion tracking, it occasionally happens that the Video slows down or gets buggy.
2.When I start insta360 flow, the app doesn't always start
3. have to constantly go from full hd to 4k because the app goes back to hd after I record an video
4.Overheating tempt to happend quite often.

I’m wondering if the bad ai tracking had anything to do with the phone you had on it…don’t know if you used the same phone on both for the testing.

I have insta360 flow. It works fine with horizontal video, BUT vertical video it’s not functional for me. Wich one do you recommend me for vertical video for smartphones?

I hate compromises. One has this and that while other has that and more... give me 1 perfect gimbal XD
This is why I dont feel exited about tech anymore. Its never, pay more, get better. Everything has some sort of anoying Issue XD I hate it.

8:55 Wasn’t it because of the iPhone not properly installed on the Insta360 FLOW gimbal. If you look closer you will see a air gap between the phone and the magnetic phone clamp.
The tilt is restricted by gimbal motor placement, not by phone.

On DJI OM6 roller button for zoom ia too small. Very dificult to change zoom smoothly. I expected, next generation will do bigger wheel. But Insta did it earlier))
Agree. The small knob is not as easy to use as the insta wheel

I hate the image quality loss that happens using gimbals own app to record. Is it still noticible difference compared to phones own camera app?
Honestly since I do the tracking myself, I rather just use the phone camera app.

I feel the dji phone clip too small. I had to buy a larger one. Using Samsung galaxy 23 ultra
It’s like an absolute decimation by the flow, the only good thing about the 6 is the AI and comfortable grip.

You can use the native app with the 360 flow, you can also use it with video / zoom calls.

The 360 flow is geared hard for iPhone users. Om6 is geared towards Android users.
Seems the flow does bet the dji looks more professional. It's a cosmetic thing so I wish the DJI would win 😅

The OM6 does not zoom with my recent model iPhone SE. The InstaFlow360 works fine. I sold my OM6.
dji is better coz its 3 axis gimble gives you more flexibility
Good comparison Aldryn, the tracking on the Flow was amazing. Otherwise the differences seemed minor. Smartphone gimbal market is pretty mature at this point and there isn't much difference between the leading models. It seems like the most important detail is how the gimbal works with your model of smartphone. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

Excellent review, Aldryn. Like you said, I too, don't use my DJI OM5 for any serious amount of time on a project. But, I like having it in my tool kit as a reliable back up to the cameras I do use on a project. But the tracking feature on the Insta360 is truly amazing.

I just got the insta360. I can’t seem to get the hang of it. Kinda wish I’d gotten the pocket cam by DJI Pocket 2. Still have a week or so to swap.
Thoughts? Will be using to film Jeep ride scenes, RC videos and love home walkthrough (realtor) previews etc.

I was about to order my first gimbal and was almost sure it should be the Insta 360 based on the reviews. Primarily, I wanted simplicity and ease of use as I plan to use only occasionally, casually. I’m a newbie on iPhone video but an Apple user from way back. Then, I googled for specific solo reviews of this unit. Several negative TH-cam videos appeared and chastised the I-360 as not being close for prime time! In fact, some claimed it should not have been released. after demonstrating its flaws! What gives?🤷♂️
I will recommend myself 360 bcz I can attach the microphone easy way instead of obstacles
