Karen I can actually say I felt your pain with GW pulling the sale tags. I would love for you to ask a manager on video, saying you and your viewers would like to know why they do this. I don't shop much but so enjoy tagging along with you and Roger.
If she were to ask that question, then they will probably not let her film again. I wouldn't push it too far. If you are talking against them then I can see them pulling the plug on that. Most businesses probably would. At least that's what I think.
My goodwill told me that they have ppl show up at time of opening and they just go down the isles and pull the items and not even look at what it is to buy
I’m so envious of your goodwill stores. I only have 1 and it’s absolutely horrible and so expensive. I would have to drive a couple hours to just get to some decent ones.
Have you thought about ordering through a grocery store's app? Most have free pickup and you can choose an hour window pickup. You can drop items in your app cart while in line at a thrift store, or while your husband is driving, etc. Then purchase when ready. As long as you use the app items will remain in your cart.I have a friend with a busy schedule and it really helps them out. They pickup on way home from work. Hope this tips helps.
I’ve been doing this for a year and love it. Took me a while to come round to someone else choosing my fruit and veg but they do a good job. Can sit on the couch with a cup of tea and take my time to look up specials etc. Easy way to shop.

I just saw a video by one of the big TH-camrs where they were talking about the ridiculous prices at Goodwill, and they mentioned that the managers get a bonus for the amount of money they bring in. Our Goodwill s are out of control here in New Jersey. They are selling at eBay prices now.
A manager friend said they have staff go through end of day the night before and pull whatever color is scheduled next and put out mostly whatever is the newest color. Ours changes colors daily. On Saturdays all but one color is on special so they pull all but that one color that ISN'T on special. So if White Tags are the only color not discounted on Saturday, that's pretty much the only color you'll find. Just odd since you see some items there week after week, boutique prices on broken items or if they weren't broken to start with then they are after a few weeks of hanging out on the shelf and getting pulled over and over bc of the tag specials. Then they end up in the bins or landfill. I've gone to finding mom and pop stores or local charity organizations if it's not garage or estate sales. Our GW trusts in the area are all on the verge going under (per a VP friend there) so the business model isn't working. :-(
Soo funny we sell on posh and it's a diff clientele so I'd be grabbing every man's shirt, every cabana shirt, every white, cream, light pink, mustards, matte toned tans, mint shirts & pants galore all those planters, all those tiny historical, and architecture pictures. College students love tiny hand sized. It's college time and they are 2 months in and can afford clothes, decor or went up a size lol. It's all pre holiday. Fancy looks for parties, new dating dates. Yes I would of took that broach. Easy $15-40. Great job. Love ya
The Goodwill in my area has &1 Thursday. I purposely got there when it opened and saw very few of that day's color. That tells me that they are pulling that color way before one would think. I think that is a very deceptive practice. I spoke to one of the Supervisors and asked him if Goodwill is hiking prices to try to compete with Kohl's:)
12 carts? How does that work? Do you have to bring stuff to your car and return to shop more? I don't know how you do it! I always enjoy watching you thrifting.

I always love shopping vicariously through you I have gotten such a stock pile of stuff I’ve had to quit Thrifting for a while until I move some merchandise so I get my fix watching your channel. Also I wanted to say I think the little wooden cart with the two wooden canisters are for salt and Pepper but I can’t be sure but I sold one like that not too long ago and I listed it as a salt and pepper cart.
When I saw that you had put out a video that was an hour and I think 21 minutes. I could not believe it thank you thank you thank great scores on all your purchases and especially on the items that you sold
My Mom and I went to a 2$ Tuesday at Goodwill and they had already pulled the shoes and put them in carts. Which would be great except you had to dig and dig to see what was in there. Also, they had started pulling the color of regular clothes. We found some things but not a lot and you really had to look and look all over!
Hi Karen❤ This Goodwill is a feast for the eyes!! I must visit it soon. When you need more than one cart, where do you put the filled carts and keep an eye on them while you’re shopping? Are you dragging them all at once??!!😘
For Goodwill to pull the $2 tagged items before the day actually starts is insulting to their customers! I'm wondering if you've gotten a chance to ask the manager about it. It's almost like false advertising. "Hey, we've got a great sale but none of the covered items will be available for sale!"
I used to shop at Goodwill when I firsts started sourcing for EBAY. Once I found out they check everything that comes in their door for nicer items and ship them out for their own auctions. They also pull their sale items at half price and re-tag them. I'll go in GW once in a while and check the glassware that they may miss. Anymore, I hit Salvation Army and my monthly local quality auction for items.
So many places have become so corporate now. But if you live in a larger city centre you can find smaller thrift shops and get great deals. I love reseller videos because I get their thrill when they find a great deal. I often think that the larger thrift sores watch the reseller utubes and raise the prices accordingly. I onetime wish the resellers would pull a dupe on them. That's not very nice of me, yet it would give me one heck of a laugh!
@@pearlneidlinger391yeah and I think it's pretty terrible because they get everything for free. So unlike a big box store who has to pay for their items and then get a percentage usually a small percentage Goodwill pretty much gets everything for free except for the target palettes they buy. So they shouldn't be upselling so much
Karen, have you ever done a processing video? I’d really love to see what happens to all of the bags of stuff you bring home. How you clean it, get it ready for posting and then put it away for inventory. Sort of the between goodwill and pulling solds part. You’re the most organized seller I watch and are very inspirational for me!
Hi Karen I get terribly upset when I see youtube programes of homeless people with terrible cloths no shoes and GOODWILL have bins full of stuff they DUMP surly it can be taken to some of these shelters for people to get some free items. Love watching you and Roger. Thanks Karen
They wrap up tons of clothes in those huge boxes (don't know what they are called) and sell them to resellers in Africa for a bulk price. It is a big business. I think there is a documentary, because what they don't want is filling up landfills there.
I visited a local Goodwill store that I never visited before in Kissimmee, Florida this Saturday. I wasted two hours. The place had a terrible odor, and I had to wear a face mask to be able to breathe without smelling it. And what a total rip off! They were selling used Dollar Tree mugs for $4.99. They had an old toaster oven for $20 that I bought new from Target for $25. Old costume jewelry that you could pick up in a bunch for about $5 was selling for $3.99 each. Nothing was worth buying in the whole store, so I was surprised to see such a long line of people at checkout. I have to revisit another Goodwill not too far away where, before Covid, I used to find vintage deals and name brand clothes. We had a local Salvation Army thrift store that was better, but it closed down. I am glad I got the stuff that I did when I had the chance. I made pretty good money selling it on eBay. But I was not such a great picker as you. You even hauled a "OOAK handsome gentleman, in MINT condition". You had to accept his proposal because savvy you knew he was definitely "a keeper" (as are you). 😂🤣😛Best wishes on all your future hauls and sales.
Harbor Freight has some WONDEFUL Led long lights that cost about 21$ or so a pc and are super bright and can be hard wired OR plugged in. My husband installed 4 of them in our basement and OH WOW sooo much brighter. Even if you just put some around your one table you might REALLY love it! LOVE your videos.
HI Karen! Time stamp 27:07 the rice paper cube lamp on the shelf under where you got pottery lamp from. These rice paper lamps usually have a spinning piece inside and the heat of the bulb makes the spinner turn creating a moving mural on the wall - great for kids room - I have sold a couple of these for about $30-$35 - FYI BOLO
All our Goodwill's will give you a price on any item without a price. I worked for them about 15 years ago and we would always price items for customers on the floor or at the register. We also don't have $2 Tuesdays at any of the stores near me. I'm in Colorado about 15 minutes west of Denver
Always so grateful for the knowledge you so willingly share with us! And I love your positive attitude that there are enough goodies out there for everyone!
chufy blouses sell for hundreds. I looked up your Johnnie was blouse. I think I found it. Rio Blouse sells for 295.00 In shoes: AA is extra narrow, A is narrow, B is narrow-medium, C is medium, D is Wide, E is x-wide, EE is XX wide.
Bees would bee cute on your laundry room inner wall!! IDEA?: Make big meals so you have leftovers. I got in trouble when I was a young bride w my OS mother-in-law when I didn't cook for husband even though I worked PMs and he wasn't an invalid!! Guessing GW takes 'em off the floor to not lose money on them and then put s them back... they've always been deceptive!!
I love to see what you sold and when you pull out your stock from your bins, etc. It facinates me to see what people buy. And the price you paid and what it sold for. People must understand that you invest your time, petrol, wear and tear on your car, and you invest your money in buying stock to resell. Plus you have to wash items, price them, photograph them, steam, pack, store, ship. You pay for shipping materials. And you pay Ebay a chunk of your sale. So even if you buy something for 2 dollars and sell it for 20, you are not making an 18 dollar clean profit. And you have the taxman to contend with. Dont feel worried about telling people this. You could put this in the descrition and direct people to read the info so that you don't have to repeat yourself. I used to have a clothing/shoes/jewellery business from home. I know how much hard work goes into selling. I flew to Thailand and other countries. People have no idea what goes into ones own business. People walk into a superstore and think clothes magically appear on rails all looking perfect. When I got my clothes from Thailand I spent a month cutting off untidy threads from every garment. I checked every detail. Then I would steam iron every garment. Then price. Since I worked alone this was back breaking and time consuming. I did not enjoy that part of the job. People never knew the tremendous amount of work that went into presenting a garment on the rail. I can write a book. I also took over alot of old stock from the person I bought the business from. I always said to my mom, there is a lid for every pot. Sometimes something would sit for ages, until just the right person eventually came along and bought the item and loved it. I am always in awe of how organised you have everything downstairs. What a great space. You are quite the business woman whom I admire. Well done. It is fun & educational to watch you shop. Agg the red tags are mostly gone. What the H is up with that? Does someone come with a big truck and take all the 2 dollar clothes? 😂 Thanks for always sharing knowledge with us. I live in Europe and the Goodwills in the USA are such a clever concept. For the owners. They take all the best free/ donated goods out first and have it all appraised. Then they sell it at a high price. The CEO is raking it in. Much of the really valuable items never get to the shelves unfortunately. But, there seems to be enough to buy and resell. We don't have anything like Goodwill stores in Germany. I thrift for myself in all sorts of places. I hardly ever buy new clothes at a super store. Just this Sunday I went to a fleamarket and I bought beautiful clothes for 1 euro a piece. It doesn't always happen at that price, but when it does, I buy. Last year I went to a ladies used clothes fair. They raise money for children. The prices of the used clothes are very high imo. Still, I found beautiful leather shoes in my size, made in Italy for 1 euro a pair. I couldnt afford the clothes, but I walked out with two big bags of shoes. 😂 I went back on the 2nd day and everything was 50 percent less. 😂 I went to the same fair this year and the clothes were even more expensive than last year. They rack up the prices because they know what doesnt sell will be sold at 50 % the next day. They still end up getting the price they wanted so to me it is not such a deal. That is how it goes. Sometimes one gets a deal and sometimes we pay up. Anyway, wishing you all the best. Love your channel. 💜💕
Just a heads up the metal wall flowers that you said had an issue, they were dogwood leaves and flowers and the dark spots on each of those flowers represent the blood of Jesus.
I enjoy watching your videos. I agree with you on the Halloween section. Last week I found a vintage cheerleaders outfit among the costumes. It was from 1972. I definitely got it.
Great video and a wonderful haul Karen. Loved the '80s outfits! The one reminded me of Military Epaulets! Beautiful and yes, definitely Dynasty! Linda Evans all the way!
I enjoy your video. Sometimes I get a bit nervous with when you pick up a heavy item off top shelf with one hand. Afraid it might drop. If you had arthritis like me you won’t be able to hold that easy. Then Roger has to go with you to hold every time. I hope you don’t get arthritis. My favorite part of this video is when you pick out the clothes items in your basement. It’s most relaxing to me somehow. Thank you.
I used to buy 75% off sale items because of bursted zippers and missing buttons. Then at home in my sewing room, I'd replace the zipper and replace all buttons with beautiful ones! So exciting!
I came here to say that, as well! The "C" designation in shoes will fit a wider foot. "B" is a medium width. And "A", "AA", and "AAA" are your narrower widths.
Dunder Mifflin is actually the paper company that is on the sitcom 'The office'- The butterfly item at the end of your shopping trip was a trivet for hot pots.
Hi Karen, Betsy Adams the velvet dress may have been Vintage. I have a top in my store right now listed from 80s. Sleeveless velvet maxis in that brand have sold from $40 to $100. That Forever Patagonia is super expensive new: $3-400, probably do well with that. Thanks! I’m still working thru my backlog so no shopping for me …can’t wait till Im done with that and ship again tho !
Encountered the strict - "no price tag, we won't sell it to you" rule today in NY. So frustrating! I'd had the item in my cart for an hour and they refused to price it because it was 5 minutes to closing. Too bad I didn't see your video first! Thanks for letting everyone know.
Yes my Goodwill outside of Nashville is also pulling the sale colors but when asked about it the employees deny it and say that the items have already been purchased.
Hi Karen, Here I am at 5 am watching this hour long video. It went so fast, with no commercial interpretations, felt like it was only 10 minutes long. You Go Karen! You found some amazing items at the Goodwill. Can't wait to see what some of the clothing items will go for.
Having read comments, apparently GOODWILL is pulling merchandise in many stores. This could be a Class Action lawsuit waiting to happen, false advertising a sale, the sale really doesn’t exist , they don’t want to lose the $ but put a sprinkle of items/bate to cover themselves & draw the buyers in.
Hello! The little heart shaped stone box you looked at at 17:40 mark is a “pietra dura” piece and can bring some pretty good $$$ .. $15-20. I pick them up whenever I can when in good condition and just a few bucks. The heart shape sells well.

Have you considered being there at opening to scan the coats and dresses for the $2 tags before they can be pulled?
Womens are tough jeans, I always have to try on. The fit varies so much.
The metal flowers with the blackened edges are dogwoods. That how they grow on the trees, with little dark
Whether you’re crazy or normal crazy you are always fun! 😁
Enjoyed this long video ,the horse, and the pottery handmade 😊
All our Goodwill's will give you a price on any item without a price.
I worked for them about 15 years ago and we would always price items for customers on the floor or at the register.
We also don't have $2 Tuesdays at any of the stores near me. I'm in Colorado about 15 minutes west of Denver
I'm in Tennessee and we don't have $2 Tuesdays either...wish we did!
Those horse statues sell really well. I recently sold one that was white.
I like to watch your shipping pulls, it's relaxing and interesting.
Love your sight your knowledge and the time you take to share and explain I appreciate your time. Best of luck with all your treasure hunting.
Always so grateful for the knowledge you so willingly share with us! And I love your positive attitude that there are enough goodies out there for everyone!
The open bottom lamp is meant to sit over something decorative. A large seashell, collectible or something like that. Porcelain flower. Etc.
That lamp was beautiful! I loved the shade with the shiny Gold underside.
Pulling shipping after my hard workday is relaxing to watch 😀
So happy to see your video! I need this break right now! 🙏🏼👍😀
chufy blouses sell for hundreds. I looked up your Johnnie was blouse. I think I found it. Rio Blouse sells for 295.00 In shoes: AA is extra narrow, A is narrow, B is narrow-medium, C is medium, D is Wide, E is x-wide, EE is XX wide.
The metal flowers are dogwood blooms , they are supposed to be dark on the petal edge .
Thanks for always sharing knowledge with us.
I went back on the 2nd day and everything was 50 percent less. 😂
I went to the same fair this year and the clothes were even more expensive than last year.
So exciting!
love those harem pants
I think average shoe width is B. Down in the alphabet is narrower, up is wider. I think C is perhaps a wider average.
I came here to say that, as well!
The "C" designation in shoes will fit a wider foot.
"B" is a medium width.
And "A", "AA", and "AAA" are your narrower widths.
I think the plate with a butterfly is a trivet.
Ok I could swear you passed 2 vintage red boxes of Shiny Brite ornaments. Time stamp 11:00. You were distracted by a snowman. I could be wrong.
The wood thingy looks like a squirrel feeder!
Just brand new to your site, and curious who no SONOMA?
It doesn’t sell well
Encountered the strict - "no price tag, we won't sell it to you" rule today in NY. So frustrating! I'd had the item in my cart for an hour and they refused to price it because it was 5 minutes to closing. Too bad I didn't see your video first! Thanks for letting everyone know.
Making your home cozy, (Xmas is coming) love that Karen, you and Roger will have a wonderful time bringing the “New Year” in…love you…thanks.
Karen, I love it when you run all over the place. This was a great video. Thanks for the major effort. Wishing you great luck from Oz ❤
Yes my Goodwill outside of Nashville is also pulling the sale colors but when asked about it the employees deny it and say that the items have already been purchased.
Is it possible they are not putting out as many red tags overall? Why would they pull them? They'd lose money.
@@Janpre2001 they do it here in Kentucky too. I think they want you to buy the other higher items. Who knows???!!!
I assume the idea of a sale gets customers in the door and then they will buy items not on sale.
@@Janpre2001 I live outside Nashville too & my local GW was pulling items one day for the outlet. I saw a worker doing it & asked.
@@grayciesmom5807 Hi! I’m north of Nashville! My GW pulls colors!
Chufy knitwear is $$$ good eye Karen!!
Just saw one with the same print selling $180 on ebay😊
Hi Karen,
Here I am at 5 am watching this hour long video.
Love the thumbnail. Great fun to click on .
Hi Karen ❤love your hair
They pull the color tag the day before it starts. It is sad. They send them to other Goodwills and they change the tags. Love your videos
That's false advertising - is GW above the law?
Thank you so much for sharing you expertise in thrifting. Your kindness and calm is inspiring and beautiful. I love watching your channel!
You got lots of great $2 items! That is not right of Good Will p[ulling the tags on sale....that is maddening for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Hello! The little heart shaped stone box you looked at at 17:40 mark is a “pietra dura” piece and can bring some pretty good $$$ .. $15-20. I pick them up whenever I can when in good condition and just a few bucks. The heart shape sells well.
