Sidious : don't miss that thot , remember she left you for "the Chad " obi wan kenobi Vader gets a flashback of obi wan in his mind ....... Kenobi in Vader flashback bubbles: "We'll hello there"
Vader's story is along the lines of the old Greek tragedies. As a child, he seems like this monster who just kills people without a care of who they were, who their families were and whatnot. As you get older you see him for what he truly is. A broken man who foolishly allowed himself to be tempted by "the devil" or in this case Palpatine into doing evil things, with the promise that he could save his wife and child from the visions of death he saw in his mind. Where had he just been a little more foresighted and concerned himself with the WHY of her death. Why was she dying? If he had the foresight to look into the why this was going to happen and not just what was going to happen itself, he would have known to tell Palpatine to fuck off and this would have saved his wife. He lost everything because he wanted to save his everything and all he had left was the man who took everything from him. Or so he thought...
“Don’t you see? We don’t have to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I’m more powerful than the Chancellor. I can overthrow him. And together, you and I can rule the galaxy, make things the way we want them to be.”
What happened to Vader is tragic, he sort of failed becoming a slave once again and losing the person he loved the most. Darth Vader used is hate and anger to bury the feelings of his past, then he accepted his role in the Galaxy. He thought those memories of his past were erased forever until he met his son, then Anakin thoughts returned and as those thoughts became stronger Anakin himself would break through the hate and anger and ultimately return
Anakin was always there. He just fell into depression and became Vader. In his self loathing and agony over losing his wife and becoming a Sith when he was once a jedi hero...
theres so much that went EXACTLY as wrong as it needed to be for him to be the most uber screwed force user in the galacy. darth maul doesnt come close, he escaped sideouses direct clutches eventually and could have come to better conclusions. anakin was continually manipulated by palpatine with a few points of major negative reinforcement from the jedi wether they meant well or not. biggest straws being mace windus hypocrisy and padme not taking his side.
Vader used the dissociation between "Anakin" and himself to avoid dealing with his trauma. Enslaved once more, lost in the galaxy without his loved ones and only able to lash out. In the end, hos choices only lead to power and nothing more.
Vader was constantly burying himself in his work in order to avoid the ramifications of his decisions. I also think he was so fixated on hunting Jedi because he knew they were the only ones capable of killing him, and ending his misery.
I disagree with the last part, I think he blamed the Jedi for most of his problems and thus still wanted revenge against each one of them, I don't think he even believed many of them could kill him aside for possibly Kenobi and Yoda and the likes, but he was likely arrogant still and felt he could easily rid the survivors of Order 66, but I think his want to was because of his placing blame upon them. (Clone Wars Spoilers) - Decisions the council made like abandoning Ahsoka and having her face criminal trials alone, having Kenobi go under cover faking his death without Anakin's knowledge, and so many other countless decisions and ways of the Jedi had Anakin, by the end of the Clone Wars, fully believe the Jedi were not the positive organization he once believed in, and so I think after what Kenobi did to him, he truly hated them. He didn't hate them fully when he raided the temple, as seen by how his eyes didn't turn sith yellow because he didn't fully enjoy killing them then, but I think he blamed them for a lot of his problems and bad decisions, and thus wanted revenge still.

I’ve been listening to your channel for 2 days straight and I am enthralled by all this info. Thank you for getting me back into the stories of Star Wars!!!
I wonder if one of the reasons Vader could never truly forget Anakin, and thus Padme, was because he still used a lightsaber, because when you think about it, Vader would have remembered in some way building one and training with it and using it as Anakin. In other words, Vader didn't just all the sudden know how to build and use a lightsaber (not counting Rey, of course), just my thoughts, though.
The dichotomy of Palpatine as a Sith master always fascinates me. In many ways Sidious broke off from the teachings of the Banite Sith (in no small part due to his own master), having multiple apprentices while being an apprentice himself, deciding that he was the one to have it all, and that he is never to be supplanted by one of his apprentices But at the same time, he rejected Plagueis' termination of the Rule of Two, demonstrated genuine wisdom regarding the Dark Side (albeit not as often as some of his predecessors), and still at the end of the day took his role as being a Master to Vader seriously, pushing him to be the best Sith Lord he could be. Just an absolutely fascinating set of layers to Legends Palp.

I don't know if you've every covered this question but when Anakin dies and Vader is born with all the mechanics that help him breathe etc could of Vader been immortal if he hadn't have given in to the light in episode 6?
Vader wants to get rid of his Anakin personality but he can't confront his choice as firmly as he needs, along with knowing at least deep down there is some light in him.
It's often talked about how darkside users crave power but part of the sith doctrine describes love, is there any known darkside user that didn't use pain, anger, or power lust as their source but rather love and or a more positive emotion to utilize the darkside?
How Vader lost was corny. I wish they wrote a better scene about how he lost. Because of the lightsaber cuts he Loses his arms and legs. Then the clones come in and fire on the council killing all of them except Yoda and obi-wan, but before Mace dies he does some kind of force storm and it kills the clones, Sidious blocks it with the force but it damages Anakin because he couldn't block it and that's why he wears the mask.... Or something like that.

Nah he’s still just as emotional in canon. He still loved padme in canon.

Vader might have buried Anakin but he was always there somewhere underneath deep inside his soul he never left no matter how much in denial he was.
The guilt and regret never left Vader despite all his trying
Of course. The whole reason he even did this was for sweet Padme
The Jedi Quest novels really give a lot of insight into Anakins early life in the order. Anakin is my favorite character in the starwars universe.

As kids we fear the villains
As adults we understand them
Kids with tramatic childhoods:

Anakin never truly died like padme and luke sensed
In Episode I: Padme is Annie's angel.
In Episode II: Padme became his family.
In Episode III: Anakin made Padme his Queen, as always.
You MIGHT call phantom pain from a phantom limb a “phantom menace”!
I cried when Anakin turn to the dark side
Vader maybe brutal. But this was a path and outcome he never wanted ( at first anyway)
I misread the title & saw “Sidious” instead of “Vader”, and boy was that weird
Same
I have dark emotions like Vader.
I hope to conquer my fears and escape suicide.
Don't kill any younglings
Palpatine: don't make me tell everyone what a whiney bitch you were about Padamame or Pandabear or whatever the hell her name was.

Why did Jedi never use the force to fly as we see levitating heavier objects are possible
Wet dreams he had
You should do a video on why the death star's short slower in rouge one then a new hope.
