  • My beautiful dreadlocks turned 4 months old today! I chose the natural neglect way to grow dreads because i wanted to become closer to nature. The natural way is the healthiest way to dread your hair, and plus, i think they look more rad! Going natural was the best decision i've ever made. I highly recommend this site! It helped me so much. www.dreadlockss... for the best info on dreads
    Namaste!

    I used to hate dreads because the hair look matted and nasty but now that I have five dreads, I realize how happy they make me.
    Your hair is amazing by the way!

    I shave my pits once a week because I find it really uncomfortable and wear a bra in public because I respect others. I'm not that selfish to make other people feel uncomfortable just so that I can fit my own needs/wants. - Also, is there a check-list to become closer with nature? I think not.. Haha.

      NatureLover you do you sweetie & im the same re bras only wear them in public for other people to be “polite” but usually just strapless. ☺️Peace ✝️💖

    No ,not normal shampoo. You gotta wash your hair with natural shampoo's that don't leave residue behind.
    Right now I am washing my hair with baking soda. I had dandruff, too. I got rid of it by washing my hair with baking soda and massaging my scalp real good during the wash. It eventually made my hair dandruff free. :)

    The neat thing about dreadlocks are that they are always changing, especially in the early stages such as hers (4 months). They are not done maturing and locking up in this video, so they do not look like the "typical" dreadlock you are thinking about.. not yet at least.

    Thank you so much, dear! Congratulations on starting a beautiful journey! :D Well, all I'd say is to not put your hair up too much, avoid touching your hair too much, and start washing your hair with baking soda about every 3-4 days! Also, when you go to dry your hair after a wash, don't blow dry your hair. The best way is to let your hair air dry! Thank you so much! You're so sweet. :) The dreadlockssite really helped me, so I'm glad you're part of that great community :)

    I really understand! And trust me, just because I have a strong spirit, doesn't mean I didn't feel upset and saddened when I was told these things, and got dirty looks in the halls. You just gotta keep your head up, man! When people start to realize that you don't care what others think, they will leave you alone, and look at you no different. It'll pass, I promise. :)

    I understand! It was also difficult for me in the begining, but you get used to it. :) I personally don't think rubber bands are necessary because you don't want to mess up your roots, you know? If you just let them separate themselves you'll know that nothing bad will happen. Plus, you want to let your roots dread on their own, so bands will prevent that. It's your choice though! No problem. :)

    I spray salt water in my hair every once in a while. It really helps the dreads cause it makes the hairs stick together, even the frizzies, so it makes the dreads form together well

  • @InTimeBeerReview
    @InTimeBeerReview 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You're rockin the dreads girl! Looks great. I'm letting my hair dread naturally, only started a couple of weeks ago so a long way to go for me! Although my hair is super curly so that might speed things up a little! I think the process is all part of the fun! Letting your hair do something it naturally wants to do without forcing it into something it doesn't (cutting, styling etc) frees you not only physically but spiritually from the constraints of modern ideology!

    Hey girl! I love so much the way your dreads look! Personally I wouldn't ever grow dreadlocks,because I just think they don't suit my personality very much and I like my hair as it is.I think that people who have dreads are very brave and patient though and I really admire you for that!And I am very happy for you because you really seem to enjoy it!Good job!And always remember that life is soooooooooo beautiful! haha Lots of kisses! :-* :-)

    As in the rastafari movement the dreads are looked at as the roots that ground us to Jah kind of like roots of a tree or plant and how their root ground them to earth and allow them to grow. I truly feel more at peace have dreads. Peace and one love

    love all the little loops and lumps, they make your dreads unique and yours.
    (= mine are already 10 days shy from being 1 year and 1 month.
    Never used wax or chrochet hooks. However, when I did start, I did twist in rip, but I left them alone since then. Now I just wash every 2-3 days and separate congos :D

    @friendfriendsfriend I know eh?! I don't think a cemetary is such a scary, and odd place. I really think it's beautiful. Not the fact that so many souls lost their lives, but the fact that people should visit the cemetary every now and then to let them know they're not forgotten!

  • @TheGoddess333
    @TheGoddess333  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't worry about it! I'm here to answer any questions :) Yess, I do wash my hair, once a week to be precise! When I first started I washed ever 3 days, but then I started to extend the days between I washed and now my hair is strong! I did go through a greasy stage, but once you push past that, your hair can last a long time without having to wash it! With natural locks I just stopped brushing my hair, running my fingers through it and such. Once dreads start forming, you start separating.

    It is possible to be completely natural in the US, it just can be harder than other places. We, as people, really are trying. It's just all of the uneducated people, cranky politicians, and rich businesses that are stopping us. Someday we will live healthier, though. =)
    And lucky you! I would love to live like you! My family has a garden, but only are able to eat off of it some of the time. Maybe I will move to Italy hahah

    No, actually. I let it go through a greasy stage so that my hair would become stronger. My hair never gets greasy anymore because of it. - Like you're actually going to take in what I had just typed though. Being "right" is all you care about. - So you can just forget what I just typed to you and go on thinking that I'm a wanna-be with dirty hair. I really don't care. Hahaha.

    @fallenangel6219115 dreading and matting are basically the same, but matting is when the hair lays flat on you head as a mat, and not in long dreadlocks. Matting can also refer to a "beaver tail" you often get on the back of the head :)
