As a ballet mom, seeing the pointe shoe coated in oil makes me sick. 😂

This is the age where everyone seems to be looking for something to be offended by. The ballet shoes in question were torn and ready to be discarded. The technique of coating cloth in oil allows the mold making (using alginate impression material) of a model with clothes on - the modest method for lifecasting. If artists worried about offending there would be little original art for the world to enjoy. Most do not feel they are offending, they feel they are provocating emotions. Where many observe a cast ballerina's foot on pointe as lovely, others might feel the pangs of loss in the damaging of the slipper in order to produce the art piece. The artists has provoked emotions in both scenarios. Having known Dave as I did, (he is no longer with us) I know with certainty that in this case, that he would not have wanted to make you feel that way. He is looking down on us now and asking me to wish you a great Thanksgiving!

@@CapeCrystalBrands it was a joke! As a ballet mom those cost over a $100 a pair and last hours! So if you understood anything about ballet you would know we all groan about dead shoes. Nobody was offended by the video. I looked the video up so we could cast my daughters foot before she retires from dance.
