Nice overview for beginner pets! I never knew about the greater Shalebacks so very informative. I'm a risk taker so I like to also collect panthers and jaguars on the eastern portion of the river during the beginning phases. Lots of running lol. But the big cats have fairly predictable attacks so reasonably easy to dodge.
You are a risk taker! LOL I remember when I first played the game I was terrified of the jungle. Even the Shoebills would kill me! LOL Thanks Keith :-)
great video, enjoyed the InSite very much. on a side note, for an item that adds storage, I've found that the dismantling table is a fantastic item to have. you can store a ton of stuff in one and save a lot of room if you have a small place.
Thanks Ervin and I am glad you found the video helpful! Yes, the dismantling bench does have a lot of storage. It is comparable to the Vault you just can't see it unless you scroll. :-)
Hi GG, some nice early game vids you're doing :-) You're right in suspecting that the hyena taming is bugged, Funcom are "looking into it" lol. Btw, I have the best results for greater shalebacks with plain old desert berries, they have the same percentage chance as exotic shellfish. I also tend to grab a few Crocs and Komodo's early on as well, mainly because the greater ones look so menacing. Keep up the good work
Thanks so much for sharing that Stephen. I suspected it after about 30 tries LOL I am beginning to wonder if those percentages are working or not if you have better luck with berries! LOL In any case I think it's a good thing for beginners anyway if it is easier to get a greater. :-)
greater komodo don't have that poison stacking abikity but they are a greater version of the regular ones. Just not as great as others. Great for killing snake purges though if you have 30 of them just guarding your base regular and greater.
Oh, and can pets travel through water? I found a good source of iron and possibly thrall, but it is a swim away, not sure if I could make it by land only. Thanks again
good video gg as u know love the greater shaleback , hes better in some cases than a level 1 fighter , plus loads carry space i took him on my gathering iron routes and came back with 1500 at a time , he also is good fighter i came across a demon hyena early game just past nanu as well as 2 normal hyenas and he dealth with the demon hyena
Thank you for these! Sure there are videos with 100k views… but they are 2+ years and several rebalances old. It was very frustrating watching these old “guides” that are no longer accurate or relevant when I was starting my Conan journey.
Thank you so much Faded :-) It really is the reason I am doing these, just to keep updated with the game. I will also be doing some updates when the new 3.0 update comes out sometime soon. I am really looking forward to that one!
What do you do with all the pets you produced and don’t use? Great video btw. I wished I had seen it earlier. I am level 32 and just started taming pets.
Thanks Dusty, and I usually set them free by breaking bond with them (delete) I only keep greaters for protecting the base. :-) They are great for helping you carry stuff, especially the antelopes. They only thing is they get killed easy. LOL
Have you looked at your followers tab? It is in the same row as your feats and attributes on the far right. If you see your hyenas in the list of followers , click on the eye symbol on the far right and then check your map. This will show you where your hyena is. You will see a icon of a person that represents the follower you are tracking. Let me know if you find them!
You will find babies wandering around the world close to their parents. All you have to do is walk up to them and hit your square button to pick them up. They are heavy so make sure you have a thrall with you to help carry them. It is so much fun to look for them but beware! When you pick them up they will alert their parents and you will get attacked.

Greater shaleback around lvl 13+ can tank the skull crocs, all you gotta do is stack bleed with best daggers you can get, even stone ^^
Thanks so much for sharing that! I never pit mine against a 3 skull croc and now I want ot try it! LOL :-)
I just use the 'easy to get' desert berries' for greater shalebacks.
Thanks for sharing!
I got lucky this morning and my first pet was a greater crocodile. It made my day. Lol
Congrats!! That is pretty rare!! He can be a beast if you level him up! Have fun!!

Yes, your horse will swim and your pets will follow you if you swim across the water.
Great thanks. I don’t have a horse yet.

They really are pretty powerful and a great beginner pet. I am glad they made it easier to get the greater shaleback!

@@GrannyGamester according to my followers tab it's like I didn't even make them they they were missing from the pens just like your video
@@luckyfire3 Ok then yes it is bugged and maybe when 3.0 comes out they will have fixed it.

Do I have to catch the young ones or get the eggs?
@@GrannyGamester That's what I thought! What about eggs? Are they worth picking up? Ty for the reply!
@@MK-xg4qg Here is a link I did on eggs! This will help you on how to get them and how to hatch them. th-cam.com/video/b3u5DSNr3Zs/w-d-xo.html
@@GrannyGamester Ty! So you can use them for hatching!? It is sad that all this information is not present in the game for new players!
