Well done. Concentrate on "Running YOUR car." Everything else is a distraction. You can't do anything about th guy behind you. A you need to know is he's behind you. Worrying about him causes you to mess up. Ignore him. Your driving is great!!
Thank you! That is good advice. I have been trying, and doing better than when I started, but I still let it get to me too much haha I can tell that my inputs are a lot messier when someone is getting close to me
Nice driving, well done! .. but when the first time lapse started I thought you were crashing and I've found myself having your same high heartbeat 😂😂😂 Do you check tyres temps after the race, usually? Is that possible?
"..I had to fight for it, so I'm very proud of me right now," is the greatest statement that iRacing lets me say sometimes, and I absolutely love it for that. Congrats, and good luck!
I love how when your confidence comes in at 18:40 you can see your heart rate slowly descend from the peak 157 to down to 137 after the race. Great content!
A good way to think about the safety rating system is like your team's bank account. No matter how an incident happens your car needs to be repaired. IRL in racing if another person wrecks you, you are the one who has to pay to fix your car no matter who's at fault. It makes me feel a little better about losing SR looking at it like that
It's very true! But to be honest it's not so much the safety rating that annoys me. It's the iRating. It's what dictates who you end up driving against. And when you lose points for no reasons you waste time building it back up. Obviously it's the same for everyone so it's fair, just annoying if you get unlucky a few times in a row
I really like how you broke everything down in the beginning of the video, especially the track explanations and what turns you were having trouble with. Seems like you know where you need to improve and how to do it, keep up the good work.
@@SarahNocchi do you edit the videos yourself or do you have an editor? Format looks so professional, would have thought you had a lot more subscribers
Regarding the end of first race: Dont think of it as "I made a mistake, he deserves the spot" If you have to lose the spot, waste as little time as possible and keep in the fight. If possible, use him for slipstream and get back in there! Also noticed the entry into the slow section after "the chute" is pretty tight. That should be reserved only for situations when you have somebody right on your back to discourage a dive. You should try to open up the turn 5 more, so you can better carry speed and remain tight on exit while preparing for the right hander on its outside. Overall dont think you should abuse the ABS so much into corners like T1. Going 100% activates front ABS and it heats up your front surface temp more, making it grip less through the mid turn. You are doing pretty well, though. keep at it!
Really one of the best Iracing Series out there! I was watching all at once :) was so hooked and I was feeling the pressure etc. too, such a great video! I was crying at the end :). Please keep it up. I am about to get into SimRacing seriously this year and videos like this are motivating me a lot. Greetings from Germany!
Congrats! Your heart rate gets like mine and beats so hard I can hear it in my headphones! Keep thinking the ticker going to stop.... well done and sure it will get more relaxing on your road to 2k
Hey Sarah, I analyzed your driving and I saw one bad habit that is crucial when braking. In every hard braking zone you're going up to 100% braking which would be the only logical thing to do irl and in almost every other racing simulation. But in iRacing it is actually bad braking 100% in cars that have ABS (short for Anti-lock Braking System). An ABS tracks your braking and automatically removes braking input although you're pressing the braking pedal to the maximum to prevent your tyres to lock. But in iRacing the ABS is taking away way too much braking force which means that you would be better off braking only 75% or so for T1 at Summit Point. How hard you can actually brake for a corner differs in race line, banking, downhill or uphill etc. The best way (for me) is using Garage 61 that tracks all your telemetry, so you can see, if you're in the ABS for a corner or not. Another alternative is using Kapps as an overlay, because there is a display that shows you, if you end up in the ABS or not. Best is to just scrape the ABS. And if you're driving a car without a built-in ABS, such as the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, you will see the outcome directly when braking at 100%, because then your tyres will lock up definetely.
Woooo well done!!!! We started at a similar time and watching this video makes me feel sane having gone through all the same experiences. I've had 1 win so far and I jumped up so quick I knocked bounced the VR on my face it hurt :-). I personally hate the incident point system of iRacing and think there are a multitude of different ways they could approach it. I was flamed down in the sim racing subreddit for suggesting an opinion on this, it seems the die hard iRacing crowd won't have it any other way. In fairness to them though, as I've got better, I tend to get less of them now to the point that the odd race where I collect a bunch of them doesn't have a long term impact on my irating or safety score. Really chuffed you got your first win and I think the emotions we go through are what makes iRacing special, even with its poor incident system and fairly dated graphics
Great job, Sarah! It's hard work at the start and learning to drive under pressure is a skill in itself. You handled that last race like a champ. You'll take that experience into your next race and, over time, the pressure will bother you less and become more of an incentive to drive better. Qualifying up front makes a big difference, too, even if it does initially seem a bit scary having a whole train of cars on your tail. Been cool watching you progress. Good luck!!
Thank you! Means a lot to hear that. I was definitely proud on that last race, and realized how far I have come already in just a few races. Still a looooot to learn and improve on, but happy to see progress. Qualifying is SO important! More pressure, but also less chaos at the front haha. Thanks for watching and for the nice comment :)
Frstly mega Congrats for you win but also for all the podiums. Now you will find its easier as you know how it feels so you wont be as emotional:) If I may I've seen 2 things that may improve your defending. In first race this guy overtook you after you made a small mistake. You knew you made a mistake so I think you should go to the inside of your racing line and keep there. The guy being only a bit faster would have to overtake you on the long way ... mostly people then overcook the turn and they just go to the gravel. When you make a mistake and you fill someone will try to take advantage just simply go defensive. Also please please please after the race keep going normal speed for at least 4-5 turns so nobody can get you incidents points... all those hard earned safety can be lost in secends if you just stop after the finish line.. Finally, I love the content on this channel and you doing super job, you aim for the correct spectators with all the correct elements:) All the products that you have install they are brilliant for the channel or for yt videos. I just think that when you actually racing you should be able to see only he esencialls... all extra buttons monitors for a race time a completely pointless as its you on the track and 11 other people trying to be faster then you. The most important thing is the next apex next overtake and next corner exit. Keep going and get to C and then go to Advanced Mazda. 30min races will be much calmer for you but also will allow you to focus more on those being alone on the track moments.
Keep going with Mazda MX-5 to fully understand it's behavior. I keep driving it in the Advanced Mazda Class C and in the Sim-Lab Production with almost 2k irating. I want to see you soon on track. I enjoy your iracing videos, very good editting. Thanks
Congratz! A little tip: when you lost the lead on last race, if you are defending a position, when you choose to take the inside line, you don't need to "hug" that all the way... just keep the inside until the car behind opens to take his racing line, so you can open your line a little bit and take a better entry. I mean, even taking the inside line, you need to be the on the most outside line possible.
Thanks for the advice! I am definitely still learning to defend and not yet very comfortable with using a different line. I'll try to implement that next time ;)
You did an amazing job, first win against good drivers at a pretty high standard. Amazing effort, you're a good driver, can't wait to see where you head from here. By the way love your video style with the explosions and inclusion of text etc. It's your video style point of difference that drew me to your videos, great job. Mx5 is a great learning platform, GR86 class is a lot of fun but there are a lot more cars on the track to deal with. If your goal is GT3 at some point you do need to learn Race Craft and GR86 is a good place to learn this.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I'll keep training, practicing and trying to improve. Hopefully we keep going up. Glad to hear you like the style of video! It takes a lot of time to edit, so it's really helpful to hear feedback and know that it is worth the effort. Really trying to make the videos entertaining to watch. Thanks for the thoughts on the GR86. I'll probably give it a try and see how I like it!
I love it! I can definitely relate to the tension and excitement of getting onto the podium. I was right there with you lol. My first ever podium (3rd place) was SO rewarding. 😊
Congrats Sarah! I've got my first victory with MX-5 two weeks after your video ''can i get out of the rookies'' in fact i spin in the first corner on the same race as you haha! Any way you gonna love the GR86 series. Keep it up!!
@@SarahNocchi Most of my races are on GR86, i've got 2.1 irating but drop a little bit haha. But im training gt3 some times, is a bit diferent but also cool! Trust me you will get there too, it took me some time to get there you just need to keep pushing. =)
Really nice! Your lines look really good. What seems to be costing you a bit of time now is your braking. You seem to be locking up the brakes quite a lot. If there something I would take with me before advancing to the GR86, were I in you shoes, it would definitely be being more precise on the brakes. In the GT3s even though they have ABS, that is absolutely the most important aspect. Personally I learned a lot and gained a ton of confidence by getting my B license in the Porsche cup. But I am glad to hear that you are not in a rush to move on. More than 2 years after starting my iRacing journey, racing in the MX-5 remains one of my favorite experiences in the sim. The skills you develop in the slower cars are worth their weight in gold when you get to the faster cars :)
Thank you so much! And yes, definitely! I have been working on my braking a lot and was doing great during practice/quali and then during races the pressure was getting the best out of me and I kept locking up 😬 I am definitely taking my time and making sure I am improving my skills and race craft before I move on to the next thing! The MX5 is a lot of fun anyways so don’t mind staying there a bit longer ;)
one thing i've learned in the last 6 months of my iracing journey is simply... the higher the sof gets the more consistent/aggressive everyone becomes which makes door to door racing way easier to manage and not as nerve racking, you learn to trust the drivers around you while staying as close to the limit as you can.... progression is the name of the game and that game never ends, so keep moving forward
I'm glad you showed this. I'm a relatively new driver also and my experience was like yours. When I finally got enough pace I kept making mistake or making it to easy to pass me because of the stress. I found that my biggest progression came from working on my racecraft more than trying to get faster. My irating is now hovering in the 1700-1800 and i think that im racing too many series I might cut back. GR86 is a great step up from mazda because its not soo much faster but it's more stable and predictable , I think you would enjoy it. Right now I'm running the Falken challenge in a gt4 and you also race against lmp3 that are wayyyy faster so it's good to practice your awareness of what is happening around you. Hope to catch you in a race soon.
When I have a car on my rear bumper, I fold faster than Superman on laundry day. Nice to see other people’s heart races as much as mine. I always thought I was stupid for getting so into it.
Thank you!! I am not so worried about SR and IR, but in a way by giving myself goals I force myself to keep learning and practicing, rather than relying on my current skills ;)
Thats me in P1. Good race for you. There's a lot of positives to take from it. I think your heart rate might be a big part of it. Breathe and try to relax. Don't be as hard on yourself when you don't do as expected. I know your goal was podium, but that might be the wrong goal to focus on. I'd think about what will get you a podium, which is almost always better average lap time. If you can improve average lap time, you are more consistent, and faster. It's easy to say, but harder to do, but try to remain focused on what is happening in the race and not what the result is. If your goal is average lap time, it will help you focus on driving the track well. Also, when you are fighting, think EXIT. optimise the exit, not the entry. Applies if you are ahead or behind. It's easy to overdrive the entries when you've got a driver chasing hard.
Should have said first race. I would say that a lot of the speed you are missing is coming from your braking into T1. You don't need to be at 100% there. try holding 70% and see what happens. Compare your earlier traces with what is at 25.08. that's more like it!
I also struggle with cars behind me. I start to get nervous but over time with practice and consistency, it gets better and I’m not even phased anymore. Good job!
Just think that if he is much quicker than you then he is going to overtake in a 90% way. Adding extra pressure its just making you slower and making mistakes giving the opponent more % to overtake you.
bravo sarah, on est tous passé par ces émotions sur iracing surtout après la 1° victoire. Continue comme ça et regarde moins derrière toi, tu feras moins de petites erreurs.
Go go go young lady. A great win and one you'll always remember. The first 🎉😅 very well done. I look forward to see you progress in iracing. We need more lady's in simracing you can do it to and win 🏆
Thank you so much! Definitely won’t forget this 🤩 love this track too so now it will always be pretty special there. Thanks for watching and for the support! ☺️
@@SarahNocchi Wanted to watch a tv show ep, but this took the cake for my attention. 😄 Your opponent was good too. It's a great feeling to have a long battle with someone of similar skill levels and racecraft. Especially if you win. 😄
That's probably the best compliment haha thanks for telling me this! Yes it's the most rewarding thing. I wasn't sure I would be able to pressure him enough, and then wasn't sure I could keep him behind, so definitely happy 😄
hiya Sarah just a little observation , i noticed you take the middle of the track at the start of the races and that contributes to you being caught on 3 wide situations for T1 . it if more safe to run the lane you are given by your start position and congrats on your first podium !! 🏆 i printed and framed my first win certificate 😁
Nice win ahaha. I do a lot of GR86 (just finished one on Lime Rock), its a fun car with good battles and you can definitly increase your irating there, Simlab is also fun but safety rating destroyer. I think you could try GT4's with the new M4 , it could help a lot preparing yourself for gt3's. Thats what im gonna do for the end of the season personnally. Good luck for the 2k and maybe i'll race you on gr86 series one day ahaha
I’d love for you to do an iracing settings review on your 57’’ Samsung chassis. Show us the resolution, fov, are you using triple monitor rendering or single curved, and all that. Only missing piece to an otherwise awesome build and iracing journey you’ve taken us on. Keep in the great work! As a newbie your channel has been great!
I bet that win felt great! The older M4 GT4 might be a nice next step. You can do the production car class and get used to multi-class racing. Might also be worth skipping the GR86 and getting a GT4 right away
Sure did haha I'll take a look at that. I do love the M4 GT4, used to train for fun on it. Would love to jump to GT4 directly, but not sure I am ready yet in terms of race craft
Hi Sarah, like the heart rate monitor. Will do podium next time as you improve. I wonder if mazda would not be faster with H shifter? I use it for lesure driving in VR in assetto corsa, it's so much fun to use shifter. I like rear mirror jumping car, so funny. Lucky crash with it didn't register. Lap 10 she looks sooooo stressed : ) That's the beauty of simracing we like - the positive stress, competition and the finale satisfaction.
Your content is great. Your heart rate us directly related to your muscle contraction and breathing. Several times i could see you stop breathing and hold your breath. Overall fantastic job👏🙏
I just cant drive those cars bcuz my experience is on Le Mans prototypes, F1 and LMDh. Believe me I tried driving the Mazda cup cars and I just couldn’t lol. I know you’ll get up there with us big boys driving the very fast and complex cars. Keep putting in those miles girl.
Thank you! Did I get any Xs after the finish line? If so I did not realize! I didn't know the last time (in my previous videos), but I was super careful in these races haha
@@SarahNocchi Nah, luckily not, but was close, that one guy almost hit you as you stopped. I always drive a few corners, 2-4, then stop on the side and exit to pits. Amazing job at Race 1 and 4! 😁 Race 2 and 3 is so standard for iRacing. 😂 Trying iRacing at the moment, I have a few wins but I personally hate it. It makes me hate racing somehow. The net code is pure crap and having to think about my wallet after already paying a sub is horrible. For me it takes the fun away from racing. LFM, AC and ACC all the way!
Thank you!! Definitely understand why some people would hate it. I like it because of the realism when it comes to driving experience. I think it's the one that gets you closest to reality, and that's what's more important to me. Even if graphics are crap 😂
@@SarahNocchi If it gets you close to the real thing then what more can you ask for! I think it's the pricing model that puts me off more than anything. Before this I would go on LFM and download tracks and cars for free. Suddenly paying £14 for each on top of a sub makes me feel sick. 😂 That's more realistic too I suppose.

Congrats Sarah! I've got my first victory with MX-5 two weeks after your video ''can i get out of the rookies'' in fact i spin in the first corner on the same race as you haha! Any way you gonna love the GR86 series. Keep it up!!
Thank you! And congrats to you too!!
Are you now in the GR86 series or continuing with MX5?
@@SarahNocchi Most of my races are on GR86, i've got 2.1 irating but drop a little bit haha. But im training gt3 some times, is a bit diferent but also cool! Trust me you will get there too, it took me some time to get there you just need to keep pushing. =)
Hi! It was a great racing video. I liked it, and you have the skills, just keep pushing.
Great video.
my heart was pumping with you!!
I have been working on my braking a lot and was doing great during practice/quali and then during races the pressure was getting the best out of me and I kept locking up 😬
I am definitely taking my time and making sure I am improving my skills and race craft before I move on to the next thing! The MX5 is a lot of fun anyways so don’t mind staying there a bit longer ;)
amazing Sarah!! Congrats!! i was so happy watching your video! =)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)
Ive not watched every vid of you but I just wanted to say that I noticed you impoved a LOT from your first races! Keep going 😁
Thank you so much! Means a lot to hear that. I don’t race as much as I would like but I do focus a lot on improving my skills. Glad it’s noticeable 🙌
one thing i've learned in the last 6 months of my iracing journey is simply... the higher the sof gets the more consistent/aggressive everyone becomes which makes door to door racing way easier to manage and not as nerve racking, you learn to trust the drivers around you while staying as close to the limit as you can.... progression is the name of the game and that game never ends, so keep moving forward
Keep grinding!! I am trying to crack 2k as we speak. Its a wold roller coaster
Thanks! And good luck ;) Definitely not easy, but having a lot of fun
Congrats on your first win, well done! I love watching your journey
Thank you!! Really appreciate it :)
Youll get used to feeling pressure over time. You are doing great! Hope to see you in the big leagues soon.
Thank you so much! I hope it'll get better yes :)
When I have a car on my rear bumper, I fold faster than Superman on laundry day.
Nice to see other people’s heart races as much as mine. I always thought I was stupid for getting so into it.
Congrats on the win and 1500IR, now stop worrying about SR & IR that will come and go, just enjoy the racing and the wins with come.
Thank you!! I am not so worried about SR and IR, but in a way by giving myself goals I force myself to keep learning and practicing, rather than relying on my current skills ;)
Congratulations! I actually got a bit emotional seeing this :)
Thank you! ☺️
Nice to hear. I tried to share my feelings as much as possible through the editing but was worried it was too much haha
@@SarahNocchi You did good, both racing and editing :)
Thanks a lot!
well done Sarah! I just got my first win today too on the Ferrari challenge. It is an amazing feeling!
Congrats!! That's awesome
Now that was really 👍, really happy for you. Well done. Greetings from me in Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
Epic video! It has been great to follow your iRacing journey so far 🙌
Thank you so much! ☺️
Sweet... Congrats Sarah! Exciting video, heart monitor was awesome idea...👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it! Was hoping the telemetry and heart monitor would help make things more interesting ;)
NGL I am super curious how you connected the watch to get the heart rate telemetry. I wanna copy that haha.
Using RaceLab! It’s an overlay that you can add on your screen. Then you just need an app on your watch to connect it to ;)
Congratulations on your 1st win, I have 1 road course win and 22 oval wins since I started iRacing in 2018.
Thank you! And congratulations to you as well, that is amazing!
Good job!
Glad to hear I am not the only one. And it’s encouraging. I know the more I practice the more relaxed I’ll be!
Great job! I was really pulling for you in that last race.
Thank you!!
Congrats on your first win, well done! I love watching your racing !!
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!
nail biting race well done on the win you deserve it. great set up you have and well put together video
Congratulations Sarah! First of many!
Thanks!!
I hope so 😌
Congrats on your first win, more to come in the future
Thank you! I sure hope so 😊
I *love* these videos! 😁 Great, hard but fair battle for your first win; congrats! ✌😎
Glad to hear! ;)
And thanks! Was definitely proud of that one haha
@@SarahNocchi Wanted to watch a tv show ep, but this took the cake for my attention. 😄
Your opponent was good too.
Let's break out the Champagne, congrats on the win!🍾🍾🍾
Hahah thanks! That one definitely deserved a celebration
congrats on your first win much love from Belgium!
Thank you so much! :)
Great stuff! Well deserved!
I was laughing my a*s off on the guy lagging behind you. I couldn't breath that was so funny! 😂
I think if a player is lagging that bad, they should be removed from the race.
Definitely funny when watching back, but during the race I was pretty annoyed haha
Congrats on your first win and many more to come ;)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)
@@SarahNocchi still want you try out the clio sometime ;)
hiya Sarah just a little observation , i noticed you take the middle of the track at the start of the races and that contributes to you being caught on 3 wide situations for T1 . it if more safe to run the lane you are given by your start position and congrats on your first podium !! 🏆 i printed and framed my first win certificate 😁
You win every race. The video starts, you win ☺
Great to see women racers! Well done for your dedication and clean racing. Crazy to think of the heart rate racing irl. 😍
I can't imagine the stress and pressure of racing irl. I would need a coach to manage it I think haha.
Thanks for watching and for the support!
Congratulations on pole! I was nervous for you the entire way through!
It's really unfortunate that you're racing MX-5 without an H-shifter.
Rallye à Good drive... keep it up.. see u on the track 😊
As a newbie your channel has been great!
keep at it! iR comes with time btw im jealous of your pedals hole e crap!
Superbe vidéo tata , les gens ont l'air d'apprécier :D
Merci Loïc c’est trop gentil ! Oui beaucoup de bons retours 😊
So awesome! Well done!! Hard work pays off!
Thank you so much!
Sarah. Thanks. This content is very good. Thanks for the entertainment and keep it up.
So happy to hear that! Thanks a lot :)
Awesome! I got my first win back in June and I screamed and laughed like a little boy!
Haha awesome to hear! Re watching after the fact I felt like I overreacted, so that makes me feel better 😂

Congratulations, that was awesome!
Thank you!! Was a great day for me haha
I bet that win felt great!
The older M4 GT4 might be a nice next step. You can do the production car class and get used to multi-class racing.
Might also be worth skipping the GR86 and getting a GT4 right away
Sure did haha
I'll take a look at that. I do love the M4 GT4, used to train for fun on it. Would love to jump to GT4 directly, but not sure I am ready yet in terms of race craft
GRATS ON YOUR FIRST WIN!
Thank you!! :D
Congratulations m8 proud of you.
Que Carrera te mandaste ... Me hiciste sufrir a mí tambíen P1 Yesssss.
Your content is great. Your heart rate us directly related to your muscle contraction and breathing. Several times i could see you stop breathing and hold your breath. Overall fantastic job👏🙏
Well deserved. Hard work pays.
Thanks!!
Great job! I also just started a month ago if that. 3.50 and 1770 as of today in sports cars. Making progress. G923 getting pushed to its limits. lmao
That is awesome! Congrats!!
congrats for your first win proud of you sarah
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)
Well done! Remember to not get X's after the finish line...as they count...learned that the hard way.
Great job on getting your 1st WIN, those are the ones you remember. Once you get to the 2.5k irating, the lobbies are way better quality. Keep up the good driving.
Amazing job at Race 1 and 4! 😁
Race 2 and 3 is so standard for iRacing. 😂
Trying iRacing at the moment, I have a few wins but I personally hate it.
That's more realistic too I suppose.
Hell yeah! Get it girl!!
🙌🙌
Wow congrats!!! You're inspiring me. Great job.
Thank you so much!
Damn race 2 you sounded so upset and distort which is understandable, made me feel annoyed myself about it even though I was just a spectator basically.
Also congratulations on your win and the goal!!! 🍾🍾🍾
Thank you so much!
Haha yes I was upset. Tried to emphasize my emotions through the editing to make it more relatable, so glad to hear it worked ;)
Great win! I would strongly recommend GT4 as it is easier to learn and handle.
Thanks! I'll definitely be going into new series soon ;)
Great job! Nothing like that first win!
Thank you so much!
