Being someone who stopped for some years and now coming back to the space I might add some of my insights, that could help others. More important than practicing, is practicing with a purpose. Just doing laps is fine, but actually knowing what you're working on is a massive boost. Also, I don't really agree with the stick to one car, or one series mentality. I have fun both on gts and formulas, even if not being very good at it. But understanding the two different styles, or how different cars drive, actually helps *a lot* when during the race you have to follow different lines either to defend your position or trying an overtake. In my humble opinion, it is far more important to focus on understanding what the car is doing and how what you do influences it than getting really good at a specific car. It may seem productive at first, but very detrimental on the long run. Again, imho.
If you’re below 1.7-2k irating, expect no one will hold their line in a battle. Trust me, I was there and I couldn’t hold my line lol. Just let your pace come to you, qualify well, and get into higher split races where you can fight people a lot cleaner. Or, just send it into every corner and have fun. Both are acceptable :)
Haha so so true, I’m finally at the 1.7k threshold getting into more top split and generally cleaner races, although there are still some uh let’s just say adventurous drivers 😂
Very good tips: my tip would be: stick to one car and master it! That is, if your purpose is to gain iRating. Hopefully it is also the car that you enjoy :) I have become quite good at FF1600 and am at 2100 irating in Formulas because of that. At sports cars I am at about 1100. I get into crashes in MX5 races in the lower splits and it is frustrating. In FF1600 I race at the top split and crashes aren't so frequent. However, I am never the fastest guy in the top split. Fun racing still though!
Since I did 1 and 2 my irating has been creeping up, I try to avoid crashes but some are inevitable with people being too aggressive at times or a driver stops for no reason during the formation lap causing a pile up. Practice is the key to pace but it needs to be the right type of practice.
I subbed a few days ago. Or maybe this morning, not sure. lol.. 100 SUBS, you have it.. Look forward to watching your future on here. Great tips and doing my best to follow them.
@@hueginvieny7959 Yeah I do understand that, I’ve had that happen to me enough, but that’s why if you manage to get to higher splits generally the intentional wrecking lessens
@Pitout.Racing I'm one week in won some ovals, but I'm struggling on sports cars. Lemans ultimate messed me up. I got hooked hard on the online racing. It's an amazing game but I need to get faster in sports cars on iracing in lemans ultimate I was wining hyper car online races on Iracing the miata is a struggle
Its exactly why my ir is as low as it is. Instead of driving angry or retaliating id just leave sessions which for some reason hurts me more than if i just sat in pits and didnt move.
@ Sometimes it’s worth waiting as if you just get out on track even just for one lap at the end you can shin lots of positions over people who just left
Concerning tip five, if you want to practice avoiding accidents, race Draft/Rain Masters (I'm assuming Rain Masters is a similar concept to Draft Masters on the road/sports side). I do Draft Masters weekly and there will inevitably be a wreck, regardless of split. Use that to your advantage (but also have a decently high SR or be prepared to run Time Trials to regain that SR between races).
If you do get into a wreck, especially in rookie or D races that have a quick repair, don't give up. Get back out there, put in laps and you can potentially get a few places to reduce irating loss.
Downloaded the game..bought the new corvette. Be f×cked if I could find the car or even race..i paid on the steam store directly.not too sure about this game. Feel like I wasted my money.
Unfortunately you’ve bought a car that is way higher than your license class. The corvette gt3 is a c class and above (c class for gt enduro, b class for gt sprint and a class for imsa multiclass). It’s an amazing platform, I’ve been on it for 4 years.
Well.... if you crash you have no chance of gaining iRating is simply not true since it has all to do with the placement you get in the race. You can crash or hit someone and still fight back to a position where you gain iRating. Depends on the situation really Just don't have races like I did last night at Daytona =)
Hah that is very true to be fair but I’m more thinking a race ending crash to something that puts you to the back of the pack where it makes it harder to gain if you know what I mean, but I totally understand where you’re coming from.
The last tip is responsible for almost all my iRating gain.
Exactly same here, I’ve gained around 400 in 4 races and every single one only had about 3 incident points max
