@@theopinionatedhippie470 I like Reflections because it feels like a Grateful Dead album... as does Bobby's Ace from 1972. Jerry's debut album is fantastic.
In a total coincidence I was just uploading my Jerry Band/solo collection to my hard drive. Yea, I am old school but a audio snob so I gotta have wav or flac files. I don't ever listen to his studio albums but I have all his live releases and boy does he bring a lot of these songs to life live. Maybe Spend the Night Together was bad on studio release but have you heard it on the LET IT ROCK release? It is one of my favorite Garcia live versions of any song, I listen to it often (Sitting in Limbo off that release is also great). Being a guitar guy I am mainly talking about the guitar work/jam. That said (totally out of context, sort of) I was listening to Phish's Chalk Dust from a few weeks ago 2-23-2024 and this was just one of the best psych/dark/insane jams I have heard in a long time - makes me wanna check them out live this year. Crazy weird/dark/space like an old Dark Star. Just saying....Thanks for your reviews!

Spot on with Rolling Stone and Black Sabbath reviews as well as Dave Marsh's scathing evaluation of the Grateful Dead. They hated Zep, too, and pretty much hated all prog rock.
Out of the ones I’ve heard I’d rank them: 3. Cats 2. Compliments 1. Garcia If you counted it in your ranking I would’ve had live at keystone be my #1 Side note: got to see Moe. play Bird Song in between a Bring You Down, Al does it justice
1 Reflections
2 Garcia
3 Compliments
4 Cats Under the Stars
4 Run for the Roses
Interesting….at least we agree that Run is the worst.

Cool video. I saw Garcia/Grisman at the top of 1994 @ the Warfield

Eep Hour was used in a Cher perfume commercial!
That is…randomly awesome.

I think she was a fan. I even forgot that Ripple was in her movie Mask.

I will be doing the live ones at some point so…yeah, the Keystone releases are awesome!
Sorry, but the beginning of The Wheel is great.
