Your list is very close to mine. Wake of the flood would be #1. Were you just doing studio release releases ? I’m guess yes cause I didn’t see bears choice, live dead, dead set. Anthem of the sun head some live recordings mixed in. Killer list. Stay Grateful brother!!
Very surprised to see Built to Last and Shakedown so high in someone's list for once! Happy for you, man! Go to Heaven isn't the best album, but Althea is by miles my favourite Dead song, possibly favourite song ever.
Great job, RN! I should have kept notes. You are 95% right on the money (no surprise we would agree) - but a few things I wanted to bark about - I just can’t remember exactly what, anymore. 😂 Anxious to hear more of these.
Very cool! Thanks for posting this Ryan. Awesome art in the background! Your set-room is killer! Push Comes to Shove was always good after they repeatedly told the squished crowd to "take a step back" at the huge 80's and 90's events like JFK 7-10-87! Ha!
All Great Albums . . . I wouldn't go that far . . . some of the studio albums sound MUCH better with headphones . . . I suspect they were mixed with headphone. Some dogs in my mind: Built to Last, Shakedown Street, Go to Heaven. And then there is Infrared Roses which I like and don't like at the exact same time.
I am surprised at your order of preference. Of course, the Dead were not at their best in the studio. The Arista lp's are, in my opinion, their worst, with the exception of In The Dark. Anthem, Aoxomoxoa, Wake of the Flood and Mars Hotel and American Beauty contain some of their best studio tracks. Ace, which wasn't mentioned is a Dead lp, issued under Weir's name, is great from beginning to end. There are now dozens of live concerts available from 1966 to 1995, which is more reflective of what the band really sounded like.
Scott Thanks for watching. Yes a ton of live stuff. I’m considering a live album show. Just the official releases up to 1995. I do mention Garcia’s and Weirs 1972 studio solo albums. Both amazing from start to finish. Awesome talking music. My steely fan show is up no and Allman Brothers coming Monday
Dark Star first song Hunter wrote for the band

Love the Brent songs on BTL. Foolish and Built so good. Althea is great. Thanks for watching

I hate what’s become of my baby so much, haha. Otherwise, really great album.

That and Blues for Allah have to be the worst.
