When I don’t wash my hair, after 5 days it starts to smell bad. In between washes I sometimes use dry shampoo and also an oil at the ends. Did your hair smell after the 30 days? Even my pillow case would smell so I have to change my pillow case very often. I must say you have great hair, very beautiful. I love your length.

No it didn’t smell at all. My hair is naturally dry so it takes a while before it gets oily. If it stared to smell I would definitely wash it.

Good advice on extending the washing, you can dilute the shampoo too. I haven’t washed my hair with shampoo for 6 years. I do sebum only method and ‘wash’ with a silicone-free conditioner twice yearly. Contrary to the advice in your video, conditioner will cleanse the scalp. My hair is not dyed so has some silvers, super glossy and hip length. Another tip for growing hair long is to use protective / retentive hair styles (buns / braids) 😊

What kind of routine would you suggest for color treated hair? I am new to your channel and am considering going natural.Hope you are having a good week!

I watch you just about everyday to encourage me to keep growing my hair. Right now it is a little past my shoulders. Also I am transitioning to natural. Love love your thick locks and shade of grey! Mine isn't as thick but not too thin either. Wish you were my friend next door. You are lovely inside and out. I am 63 and I want hair a little past my "girls". Keep your vids acomin' beautiful!🌷Love from Nova Scotia.🙏

Wow. Great advice. I typically every other day. Never thought about your advice of just stretching that out over more days. Thank you! I guess I have been using too much conditioner when I do wash. Thank you thank you! ~jules ✌️

This method is not recommended for poeple suffering from Seborraeic dermatitis, where it is recommended to wash it often cos of the yeast growth on the scalp.

There's a woman on Instagram who applies this method. For many years I washed my hair only once a week and by the fifth day, it was flat and greasy. I honestly thought I was doing the right thing but i noticed that when I finally washed my hair, there was SO MUCH shedding in the drain. One night a section of hair broke off from the crown! I went to a dermatologist who specialized in hair and naturally, shampooed the night before. When she examined my scalp, she said there was a lot of buildup and I needed to wash my hair more frequently. She also instructed me how and it's a system that has worked for me. I brush my hair and massage my scalp before I start washing; I make sure my hair is really wet before applying shampoo and I focus on every area of my scalp, scrubbing with the balls of my fingers-never my nails. I have longish hair so I then apply conditioner to the lower half of my hair and leave both in while I shave my legs, etc. I rinse gently without tugging and use a microfiber towel to dry. I wash it every third day and there is very little shedding and the hair that I lost has grown back.
I'm almost in my 49th week of growing out my gray and that has also brought about so much regrowth. I have the hair I had when I was younger only it's gray.

Wow that’s interesting. I do the massage of my scalp also but I’m in my fifties and my hair is thick and full with the method that I use. It’s important to brush your hair for a few minutes in the morning and at night. I explain it in my other video as well. But I only wash my hair every 10 to 15 days unless it’s summer and I’m sweating a lot or if I’m doing intense activities. Also once you get started with this you can gauge when you need to wash your hair and always be in tune with your body I am so I know.

This method of not washing the hair does not suit every body. As I said in my entry those with dandruff, scaly skin and seborrheaic dermatitis like myself, meed to wash hair more often to wash out buildup of yeast and bactetia.

I do 30 days. Shampoo breaks the hair. I spray my hair and rub my scalp. And I use peppermint/rosemary oil in my spray.
