Fun missing fact on Herobrine: As soon as Notch heard of the rumour, Mojang started trolling people by adding "Herobrine removed" to all patch notes from there and on. Not sure if it's still going. Also, Polybius was supposed to be a Tempest clone, and a defective one at that, which is probably what caused the headaches and some of the other effects in gamers at the time.
6:53 Im German and I can confirm that "Sensory Deprivation" is a pretty good trunslation of "Sinneslöschen". How ever the word itself doesnt make any sense gramatically: "Sinnes" is the genitive of "Sinn", translating to "Sensory", "Mind" or "Sense". Löschen is the infinitive or 1st/3rd person plural and translates to "to delete", "to extinguish", "to depredate" or "to erase". An exact translation would be "Sense's erase".
Sinneslöschen makes no grammatical sense, indeed. It contains the noun *Sinn*, which means sense and the verb *löschen*, which translates to delete. The case would have it translate to "sense's delete". Oh well, nice try from the creepypasta creator...
Catherine Goedecke I'm bothered by the unnecessary s.. sinneSlöschen. Because 'delete sense' would make more sense. If you losely translate it you could say it means deprivation.. maybe?
I think the s crept in there because there are German compounds that have a somewhat parallel structure, such as Sinneswandel. However, these are always made up of two nouns. When it's two nouns the case makes sense because one describes the other but it doesn't work with a verb.
I was going to post a translation to that as well. IMO Deletion of senses would als be possible as a translation, but you're right it's definitly not a common o natural way of using the terms in German language. It's more has the feel of somebody picked two words that vagualy mean something and stuck them together with the intend of making them sound creepy and mysterious than anything else.
I'd play it, does like a fun game, mines are a bit creepy by nature, add demons, deranged psychopaths and a good weird story and you got the basis for a great game.
It's not. The only Legend on here (Which isn't really a legend because everyone knows about it) that's true, is the Sonic CD one. Though I do agree I would play it if it were real and I'm sure many TH-camrs would try to play as Ghast for fun. That's what I'd do.

The reason the Lavendar Town theme was changed was mostly caused by the high pitches in the original track a) caused speaker damage to the game boy, and b) were really, really high pitched. Like, so high that if you're under 17, they would probably give you a headache or ear pains. Of course as you get older, you start to lose your hearing, starting with the higher ranges first. So you wouldn't hear it. And thaaaat's where the myth comes from. Obviously irritating high-pitched sounds don't cause anyone to commit suicide (I mean maybe if you listened to them non-stop for several weeks, idk....), but there is a kernel of truth to the Lavendar Town story, in that the music could give you a real headache with how screechy it was.
i might have no idea what I'm talking about, but there are noise frequencies that cause certain chemical reactions in the brain, such as making you incredibly homicidal and yes, suicidal. now whether or not that this is true and if lavender town contained these frequencies, I do not know, but i do know there is a game called sad Satan where the music is supposed to make the person incredibly nauseous
The movie "Kingsmen" is not an authority on neuralogical reactions to sound. While its true that music and sounds in general can cause physical reactions (dizziness, nausea, headaches, etc.) and amp up or calm emotional states of mind (making you scared or excited), there is no evidence that people can be forced to do anything by sound alone. The idea that an otherwise normal person can be made homicidal or suicidal by music or a specific sound is as accurate as saying people only use 10% of their brain
Herobrine doesn't scare me anymore, but I have to admit that the first time I read about him, I was so terrified that I stopped playing minecraft for almost five minutes 😱😂
I believe the Lavender Town music actually did have certain frequencies in it that caused headaches, but that's about it. It's probably why the song was changed.
God I hate the stupid Squall is dead theory. Ellone exists in disc 1! He has the stupid shared dreams with his team TWICE in disc 1! There are zombies and crazy monsters and all the other madness in disc 1; heck you can find Level 7 Cards which include things like the Propagator in Disc 1! Squall is dead (inside) is the better interpretation. Plus the damn ice spike hits him in the right side of his torso; and the game starts with him getting slashed upside the face and still making class; so you know even from a narrative that he's at least somewhat tough.
a lot of people also seem to not realize there is one line that Edia says in disc 3 at the orphanage that basically negates this whole theory. She literally said, (routhly quoted) "Squall, Im glad you are ok, after i impaled you with the ice block i regained control and healed you." lel
You may not find Berserk anymore in any standard arcade joints this day, unless you find an avid collector of said old machines. But, Berserk can be found another way, which is through arcade machines with large selections of games. From 1942 to Zephyr, you could play loads of games on it without having to switch to another machine. Recently, I worked at a haunted mansion for a Halloween event, in it was a FNAF style area with arcade machines set up. One of them was such machine with the huge number of games. I never knew Berserk was the game that killed people, because it was on that machine and no one could put a high score on it what so ever because of how hard it was. I now sit here, shocked that I played this game and never knew its legend.
I need to shit before this video, PS: I kinda cringed when he tried saying Herobrine... and I no longer play Minecraft..... just for the sake of calling people saying 'Minecraft' a 9 year old
If memory serves the original Lavender Town track just gave kids headaches, so the international release had some audio channels pitched down to be less grating.
The reason future versions of Pokemon had alternate versions of the Lavender Town music is because there was actually a nugget of truth to the rumors. Nobody got messed up badly enough to be hospitalized, and certainly nobody committed suicide...but plenty of people did actually get headaches and a light-headed sensation from listening to Green Version's track through headphones. There's even a scientific explanation for why this happened.
At The Pokèmon Company Boss:So I thought to make a town in Pokèmon Red and Green. It has a suicidal song. What should we rate it? Employee:RATED E FOR EVERYONE! Boss:GENIUS!
The Lavender Town thing is a Binaural track, which apparently can affect your brain and make people feel dizzy or nauseous. They changed the frequencies for the tune for the western release I think
Polybius isn't real. Polybius isn't a real game. it never was. there was an early test copy of the game tempest that gave people motion sickness, and that somehow evolved into polybius. countless youtube videos and websites detail the entire history of the myth, and fully debunk it.
Anyone else heard about the weird game boy camera images? Can't remember what game it was on, probably a pokemon game or a JRPG, but if you ran away from a battle, a creepy as hell face would appear on the screen saying "Who are you running from?" Not exactly a urban legend but still worth mentioning I think.

Like, so high that if you're under 17, they would probably give you a headache or ear pains. Of course as you get older, you start to lose your hearing, starting with the higher ranges first. So you wouldn't hear it.
And thaaaat's where the myth comes from. Obviously irritating high-pitched sounds don't cause anyone to commit suicide (I mean maybe if you listened to them non-stop for several weeks, idk....), but there is a kernel of truth to the Lavendar Town story, in that the music could give you a real headache with how screechy it was.
i might have no idea what I'm talking about, but there are noise frequencies that cause certain chemical reactions in the brain, such as making you incredibly homicidal and yes, suicidal. now whether or not that this is true and if lavender town contained these frequencies, I do not know, but i do know there is a game called sad Satan where the music is supposed to make the person incredibly nauseous
and it did so, everyone who has played it, damn near vomited on camera
You should have stopped your comment at "I might have no idea what I'm talking about"
i recall having read/heard somewhere it if it was played backwards it would do that, just dont remember where
The movie "Kingsmen" is not an authority on neuralogical reactions to sound. While its true that music and sounds in general can cause physical reactions (dizziness, nausea, headaches, etc.) and amp up or calm emotional states of mind (making you scared or excited), there is no evidence that people can be forced to do anything by sound alone. The idea that an otherwise normal person can be made homicidal or suicidal by music or a specific sound is as accurate as saying people only use 10% of their brain

the legend of Zelda majoras mask is you going through the five stages of grief denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance
Herobrine doesn't scare me anymore, but I have to admit that the first time I read about him, I was so terrified that I stopped playing minecraft for almost five minutes 😱😂
In one of the minecraft updates I think back in like 2013, they put in the patch note that herobrine was removed just to mess with people
the sonic one is a anti pricary warning
isnt it and it was activated by messing with settings
I love the Squall is dead theory since I think that the plot for FF8 is complete balls on its own
if you listen to the OLD lavender town music you would PROBOBLY die...i think
it had something to do with the frequincy messing with your brain, and music has a MASSIVE effect on people and animals,so theres that.
Dragonslayer Ornstein they did play it and its also fake .-.

The most effective way of buying a house! :D
What a bout Pokémon go using you to find your location and spy on you through its irl camera
Fucking terrifying!
For a guy who seems to like Final Fantasy, you sure are fighting hard to keep it from having any good stories.
555Rainstar I don't even know what you mean.
a lot of people also seem to not realize there is one line that Edia says in disc 3 at the orphanage that basically negates this whole theory.
I need to shit before this video,
PS: I kinda cringed when he tried saying Herobrine... and I no longer play Minecraft..... just for the sake of calling people saying 'Minecraft' a 9 year old
I legit got a chill down my spine when the lavender town theme started playing
the sonic translation isn't true it is something about a demon
If memory serves the original Lavender Town track just gave kids headaches, so the international release had some audio channels pitched down to be less grating.
holy shit this video is disturbing
The reason future versions of Pokemon had alternate versions of the Lavender Town music is because there was actually a nugget of truth to the rumors. Nobody got messed up badly enough to be hospitalized, and certainly nobody committed suicide...but plenty of people did actually get headaches and a light-headed sensation from listening to Green Version's track through headphones. There's even a scientific explanation for why this happened.
Look at Sonic CD's boss theme
At The Pokèmon Company
Boss:So I thought to make a town in Pokèmon Red and Green. It has a suicidal song. What should we rate it?
Employee:RATED E FOR EVERYONE!
Boss:GENIUS!
Where's Ben drowned
Evil Otto is the scariest game villain of all time.
I CAME HERE FOR BEN DROWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That sh*t is nowhere near real
The Lavender Town thing is a Binaural track, which apparently can affect your brain and make people feel dizzy or nauseous. They changed the frequencies for the tune for the western release I think
But...
The Polybius thing was real...
amit banai yeah but the government experiment thing is a myth
Polybius isn't real. Polybius isn't a real game. it never was. there was an early test copy of the game tempest that gave people motion sickness, and that somehow evolved into polybius. countless youtube videos and websites detail the entire history of the myth, and fully debunk it.
4:19 did I just hear an 8-bit wilhelm scream
could the fallout ones not of been put in through game updates? anything after ps2 is boring as the consoles all update online now
As soon as lavander town hit the speakers everybody died around me... good job
Dun dun dun
Anyone else heard about the weird game boy camera images? Can't remember what game it was on, probably a pokemon game or a JRPG, but if you ran away from a battle, a creepy as hell face would appear on the screen saying "Who are you running from?" Not exactly a urban legend but still worth mentioning I think.
