- After trying to find out how to remove the windows and seals from the FJ40 without damaging them, I though I would give it a go myself and hope that I didn't brake any windows, all went well.
Plus we give away the Paint used on the gauge needles, Congratulations Tully!
Thanks mate for this great demo of the glass removal. Just bought a 78 FJ and needed some understanding on removal and replacing glass. This is really helpful. From Prince Edward Island, Canada
Another really awesome video. I had no idea how to even start taking the glass out
Great video thanks. Removing mine on 67 fj45. Looks scary but doable.
Wished I watched this video before I tried to take out my front windscreen on my hj45! Oh well, as always guys awesome and informative content keep it up!
🤣 Yep I know the feeling been there myself!
Thank you for the support.
Thanks. 👍 Much easier to start doing the same process soon.
Editing is getting crisp mate! You’ve done some solid work!
Thanks mate.
Great demo, nice work!
Thank and appreciate the support
Just about to start my 47 restoration, thankyou so much
That's awesome! Keep me updated.
@@40ChannelCruiser ill definitely will , ill be going through your videos for reference, cheers
Thanks for posting this. I need to repaint everything and I'll need to pop that glass out. I have to replace the windshield glass anyway so maybe I'll practice on that one first. Where do you recommend getting new rubber for all the glass(I need to replace most of it). I usually use that Spector Off Road but they may be a little pricey
That was scary. I have to try to do this. This week
That corner glass would make good covid face shield
Heads up if you use glass cleaner or a silicone spray depending on paint or not. Use it under inside and outside lips. well done but could be alot easier.
Hey bro. Was wondering if you could help with patch welding a windshield frame. It’s the only real bad body issue. Here in Canada a new frame is $1200 not counting taxes or shipping. Hard to find good used. Also one can buy new fibreglass ones for about the same. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Jayson would it be worth using a spay of soapy water or a little armour all or something to help the rubber slide off? Thanks as always for your awesome work in documenting!
I have found using lanolin works very well.
@@40ChannelCruiser thanks mate, I’ll get some of that squirty bottle lanolin 👌
@@ryanphotostudio that's the best way mate!
Are you working on more than one FJ40 at a time?
No just the one, but I'm very keen to get hold of a FJ/HJ45 and do up a Ute too.
I got my first two out but when I went for the windshield it broke into a million pieces. Bummer
😯 Sorry to hear that! What condition was the rubber in was it hard and cracked?
40 Channel
No it was in good condition. So was the windshield. I think I was pushing to hard on the plastic pieces. I was working on it bye myself. I don’t think I have the body strength to get them out I’m going to half to have someone help me
It can be helpful just having some extra hands around👐. I hope you didn't hurt yourself when the glass broke!
40 Channel
Just my wallet 😱
😕 💰 There is Enough costs involved as it is on the 40 series, which is why try to have a go ourselves to save money and learn more about our trucks as we go.
that screw driver is your biggest risk. if that puts a point load on the edge of the glass you are done.
hi where can we buy the gauge paint?
BONJOUR 40 CHANNEL, do you have a video
how to place a BJ front door seal? good day .
