  • Continuing to remove cut out rust and patch up the FJ40 Tub plus clean up the tub for sand blasting.
    Removed the door hinges which was not as easy as undoing as couple of bolts, this was a tricky task but with help from smaller hands we got there in the end.
    Plus with the help from from my Boy we cut out some more rust and replace with new steal.

    Excellent work! I’m gonna use that copper trick. It’s very cool that we’re at basically the same point on our builds. Looking forward to the next video👍 I should have my next video up this week! I hope to have the tub off very soon.

    Was hoping for some "tricks"all mine came off except for the upper left side like yours. unfortunately US trucks have the drivers wheel and fuse pannel there as well making it even more impossible.

      Yep, lucky my boys hands could fit up into the gap to undo the bolts.

    Would you ever replace some of the rusted body parts with fiberglass parts?

    Hi. So what are you going to use for the rubber seal when you put the hinges back?
    Thanks also how are you all doing

    • @40ChannelCruiser
      @40ChannelCruiser  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Donna, I kept the main rubber seal on the hinge, When I go it install it I will use some Sikaflex 227 auto seam sealer.
      We are doing o.k we have some rain in the fire areas so this was a real blessing and a little bit of rain in western NSW. I have some green grass growing again! Just need to get more rain in the dam catchment areas. Thanks for asking

      It has done nothing but rain here. We have mist, sprinkles, rain, more rain and monsoon rain. My yard is like a wet sponge left in the sink too long.
      Today I saw the blue sky for the first time in I don’t remember when.
      I hope you and your family stay safe.
      I figure here when the rain finally stops. We won’t see it again until next fall
      On a FJ note I took the off body parts to be media blasted yesterday. Now I’m worried about how they will turn out. I wanted to do them myself but chickened out
      Next up I will be pulling the motor and transmission. It’s funny I feel comfortable with that part of my build

    Thank you for the detailed helpfull videos !!! Question are you using your mig gasless or with gas ?

    • @40ChannelCruiser
      @40ChannelCruiser  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stelios, thank you for watching. I use a mixed gas of Argon+Co2, and .6mm wire for the panel work.

    Quick question. did you do an episode on what you did to the bottom of the tub. If so, what episode if you remember.
    Keep up the great work.
