I love the different shades of black and gray. They give movement and dimension to the busy and brightly colored scrappy strips. The whole quilt is beautiful and very well done!
Yeah, standing here making deviled eggs for our youngest son and my hubby. And the best ever quilting content just flashed across my screen. Thanks so much Norah as love both your creativity and kind heart. Hugs from Maine.
It's so pretty, with those vibrant colors and black! I'd love to see those squares set on point! I've seen similar joining of small scraps, but when they are all seen together, it can look messy and undefined. Adding a sold color and a design, makes it more fun and cheerful.
Hmmm This was marvelous, toss all of your misgivings. I appreciated 'the everything' about this quilt. I would rerecord it and just say "Isn't it Gr--reat!" Because it is. Thanks for the inspiration!
Mixing the gray and black is brilliant as not all blacks are the same and it shows if you were hoping for a true match. Also like that the blocks are big
I love thise gorgeeous brights with the rich darks, this project is gorgeous! Exactly the type of quilt I would want to snuggle up in on a winter day for a splash of brightness.
Love it! I got an idea from someone, so made a very long roll of scrappy fabric, 2.5” wide, and then just cut off whatever lengths I needed when i needed them. Then you can add to the roll any time you like. Works brilliantly! Deb x 🤗
I totally love that quilt. I think the juxtaposition of the brights and the black is very stunning. I would love to have that quilt. In fact, I just put that one at the top of my list to make from a bunch of my scraps left over from a quilt I made a long time ago.
I've just watched this for the second time and still like the ideas a lot. I also always appreciate how you critique/respond to things you've made. Also, btw, your hair looks beautiful and rich. 😊
I Love this unique use of leftover scraps. This looks great. I have some leftover black, gray and white floral fabric and I think it would make a nice border for this kind of quilt.
Super cool idea, I have a lot of crumb blocks, I think I will chop them up to these sizes and do that with some of them, I like the scrappy dark blocks, looks good. Tks love,it. Can’t wait till your next video.
I just LOVE your quilt! All the comments about "better" choices or what one would do personally are all valid..for the individuals who made them. The point is we are all different and unique and all express our personalities and creativity differently! Thats the beauty of the creative process. Your choices are unique to you and they are great! For what it's worth, im a new fan! Thank you Norah! ❤
I love this quilt. I have loads of scraps. And this is my next quilt. But instead of black I think I’ll do dark blue or green. And I think it turned out beautiful thank you for sharing 😊
I love it ! I will have to try it . I have no zebra fabric and I'm determined not to buy more fabric. So, I'll see what I can come up with. Did I mention that I love it. Thanks to your friend for the idea.
This gives me so many ideas for using my scraps. I'm in México, and fabric stores don't have cotton, so I can't just pick out coordinating fabrics. I have to work with my stash. I love the way you use the blacks and greys together. You created a standout quilt!
That is beautiful and brilliant, you are being too hard on yourself with your critique of the outcome. The genius of scrappiness is that it is what it is and it’s supposed to impromptu and the beauty comes in its randomness and scrap this. I do love my scrap and my brights, and I will use this concept. Mixing the black and dark charcoal really added far more movement than just a solid black. It kept with the theme of the scrappiness and movement of the piece. I subscribed and hope to see more from you.
I agree Nora, you couldn’t decide if it is cool or too random, I think it’s cool BECAUSE it’s random. Love the scrappy solids, way more interesting than just one colour 😊
This is a fabulous design. And one of the features that makes it work is the two-toned black. Which makes me think that any dark colour in two tones would be excellent as sashing and decrease its in-your-face intensity. Thank you for the idea!
Really liking these blocks except the directional teacups lol. The thin black border looks good I was thinking a thin orange border but black looks great with the zebra fabric which is the best border out. I love your backing this is really good don’t give up on it like you say put it away for a few days then relook and you’ll love it I’m sure 🟧⬛️
I know you had a "vision" for this quilt but personally I love it. I really like the scrappy black as I think it gives it a lot of visual interest. I think overall it looks great and very interesting. It inspires me for another use for my scraps! Thank you for sharing.
I Love it! If you stand back a few more feet, you may find that the contrast against the multi-colored piecing works really well. This is a great project to cut down on the scrapzilla pile. I'm going to give this a try ❤
I think this is a very successful quilt including the multitoned 'black'! I am working on two scrappy projects where i just crumb piece. One involves 10 by 12 blocks I'll finish in strips then quilt the strips of ten by the length, then attach the strips! Fun stuff!
I love the different shades of black and gray. They give movement and dimension to the busy and brightly colored scrappy strips. The whole quilt is beautiful and very well done!
Completely agree. Sometimes you stop when you've got a good thing.
Absolutely agree! Blk, grey, navy works very well!
I love it. Love it, love it. The pattern is really great. Don’t second guess yourself, it is lively and fun.
Yes, it is perfect.
Yeah, standing here making deviled eggs for our youngest son and my hubby. And the best ever quilting content just flashed across my screen. Thanks so much Norah as love both your creativity and kind heart. Hugs from Maine.
I kept muttering, "Black border before the zebra..." and you DID IT! Personally, I love this quilt! Lively and fun! 💖
It's so pretty, with those vibrant colors and black! I'd love to see those squares set on point!
I've seen similar joining of small scraps, but when they are all seen together, it can look messy and undefined. Adding a sold color and a design, makes it more fun and cheerful.
I live the black-grey scrappiness, nice easy lap quilt to put together - I might get my scraps out!
I love the pattern and fabric choices. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Hmmm This was marvelous, toss all of your misgivings. I appreciated 'the everything' about this quilt. I would rerecord it and just say "Isn't it Gr--reat!" Because it is. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm a scrapaholic and I love your quilt.

Totally balanced. Satisfying regardless of our distraction with scrappiness.
It's lovely. Don't doubt yourself
I love your quilt! It’s so fun watching you work and try different things.

I love this. I think it’s very dynamic.
Love it Nora, love the concept and your quilt. The Zebra stripe pulled it all together.
I've just watched this for the second time and still like the ideas a lot. I also always appreciate how you critique/respond to things you've made. Also, btw, your hair looks beautiful and rich. 😊
I really like this one. I loved the pieced black borders and will try that myself soon.
I really like the blacks and gray, all your content is great! 🥰🥰

I really like this idea! I thought it turned out beautiful and I am fully inspired to get started on one of my own. Thank you for sharing.
I like your quilt. I liked it with the hot pink and stripe better. I really liked it that way.
I really love this. The monochrome idea is fantastic. I like the sashing and the backing. This is going on my very looooong list of quilts to make.
I love it! Gorgeous! 💕💕
I totally love this and am saving it!! ❤
Do not think like that. It is beautiful and very individual. Lovely quilt
This quilt definitely has the Wow factor! I love all the colours and the "zebra" border is absolutely inspired! Diana. xx.

I have a lot of red white and blue scraps. Maybe this would work for a Vet's quilt. Thank you for the idea.

I Like it, the colora are bright and I love how they pop with the black around them. I also love the zebra fabric border. Great try for a first time.
