I was actually pretty optimistic for this movie after seeing the trailers. Even if it did miss the mark in several regards, I still feel it's probably worth checking out for those still interested in Kung Fu Panda in some way. Nice to see your perspective on the film
Yeah I tried to not watch any of the trailers. It’s only a bad film when compared to the others. That’s the problem when you the set the bar so high! Thanks for watching as always my friend!

Honestly I wished excepting kung fu panda 4 to be as good or better than first 3 kung fu panda movie and way it took 8 years to make it would have been worthwhile and anticipating wished would have been as great as Puss in Boots: The Last Wish whom sequel that surpassed original puss in boots movie something the fourth movie could follow the same path then again studios that made got too carried away with success of previous movies they tended to next installment just for moneys rather than art storytelling and entertainment value or had time or efforts to make worthwhile movie or sequel to justify it existence
I think the movie is really trying. I don’t think they are doing a movie just for the sake of it otherwise I think the movie would be a lot worse. But the movie was bitterly disappointing!
I definitely agree with your sentiments on the backstory of the villains. This film to me felt great as a Standalone film within the franchise and was less focused on the story of Po, which up until this point was the focus of all of the other movies. “Who am I? Who was I? Who can I be?” A successor story is great, but I would have liked the motivation to come from Po himself. Things like being the warrior is tiring or being a dragon warrior doesn’t necessarily solve all your problems. I think it would have been really smart and emotionally complex for Po to grapple with using his head and heart over his fists. The pieces are all there: the criminal lifestyle, the fact that he is unheard of outside of the valley of peace(barring Gongmen City from P2). Good film, could have been better.

My kung fu panda 4 review
It's feels like an episode like the villain got all the villains powers then she dies from 2 flicks from the staff that Po is using. And then all the villains bow to po at the end. So dumb.
And why is Po picking a new dragon warrior when the dragon warrior prophecy has been a 200 year old prophecy.
2nd of all oogway picked Po because he resembles the yin and yang this fox is so random. Like all the villans in the kung Fu panda are cool and all have a motive. Tai lung was lied to and wanted to be the dragon warrior. Lord shen wanted to rule all of China and sad origin story of Po past and general kai felt betrayed by oogway and wanted revenge and no one knew his name, even though general kai treated him as a brother also awesome theme and
now chameleon idk what she wants but it sounds like she wants to rule all of China like Lord Chen.
I also felt like Kung Fu panda 4 was a cheap rip off of kung Fu panda 2 of how they explore different parts of China and Both the chameleon and lord Chen have the same motives
Idk man this movie really felt underwhelming

KFP 2 was a very deep and mature film, with genocide, conquest, arms race and stuff. KFP 3 definitely feels like they tried to make it less scarier for children. I think they tried to appeal to children even more in KFP 4
I haven't seek it yet, but it feels aight. The animation quality feels much lower, but it could be good time pass. Probably will watch it way down the line, might enjoy it more that think now.

I know I’m late, but I think Kung Fu Panda 4 is just a mixed bag. It had good ideas and it good scenes, but it’s also full of bad stuff. As someone who’ve watched the Post KFP3 shows, I’d say you should watch them instead. This movie just feels like a downgrade from those two shows, especially when it reuses ideas.
This year really feels like another worse year for DreamWorks. Even worse then last year. At least with last year Ruby Gilman and Trolls 3 were able to gain new fans, and a lot of its failures go down to marketing… but for this… it’s just too much.
Not counting the TV Movies (Since those are part of DreamWorks’ TV Division), we had a mildly good film that was exclusive to Netflix unfortunately, a sequel that went into production hell, and a movie that’s gonna be the last time DreamWorks makes movies in house. It reminds me of how DreamWorks’ 20th Anniversary became a disaster that lead to the studio to restructure themselves the first time, and here it feels like a even worse moment.
It just feels like Universal has been killing DreamWorks. Forcing them to make shows that don’t have the passion & creativity of the Netflix/Fox Era DreamWorks shows. And with their movies, it’s getting worse through the box office. If the Wild Robot becomes a success, then maybe Universal would come to their senses realizing that DreamWorks can make films without outsourcing… but that’s only a child’s dream.
Yeah the 4th was just fine I guess but nothing to go crazy about I need to watch more of the dreamworks shows
I haven't seen the movie yet but. Seeing dreamwork making bad movies is just the beginning of there downfall if they Continue like that. First megamind now this
Dreamworks are an odd company. In a way they are probably the 3rd most
Known animation company after Disney and Pixar. But they have some incredible movies like the first 3 kung fu panda movies and how to train your dragon. But they also have some terrible ones. They hit or miss for me. I wouldn’t give up on them yet. Hope you enjoyed the video!

I really enjoyed the chameleon as a character and Viola Davis slayed as usual. I just think Zhen was a bit of a meh character, i know it’s “for kids” but every single thing was far too predictable about the character, it was almost like I saw the entire rest of the movie plotted out from her character bc it was just all too obvious and just felt really bland and flat!
