You even said it here - SHE says that she wasn't included as a Kung Fu master because she was small. There is no cutscene showing it. It's simply established that this is HER rationalisation why she wasn't a master. It's called an "unreliable narrator", which the audience sees at once to be wrong because of Mantis and Viper (who ALSO don't have any other names beside their species).
Honestly if they just listened to the co-director instead of giving the director full creative control, this movie would've been way better. The Chameleon would have had a real backstory and motivation, and Tai Lung would have been brought back in a more respectful way and even interact with Shifu. It's just a shame because the director "wants to make a funny movie that makes people laugh" - well, he failed big time.
@@dhruvgeorge the co directors vision was to make kfp 4 be on par witu the first and second movie with the chameleon having a ACTUAL backstory but sadly didnt get fully creative control 😔
They retconned everything, didn't add any tao-like wisdom, forgot that Po taught everyone Chi, forgot Po's dad knows Kung Fu, and ignored the existence of the 5.
A thing that just made me go “that doesn’t make sense” was when The Chameleon said she’d be resurrecting the greatest Kung Fu villains. It’s like, supposedly complex bad people don’t outright say they want the power of villains, this just shatters any deep explanation that a genuine grievance blinded them from being good.
Her being unintimidating to people and being denied being trained to fight would have made sense if it wasn't the I was considered too small. Like enter mantis, viper, the chicken, the fish who tried to break Tigress in an episode of legends of awesomeness. If they can receive the rank of master or take down creatures a lot bigger than them, than they need a better excuse for Chameleon being rejected. Chameleon having severe asthma would have been been a better excuse than I can't train you, you are too small.
I would have loved if tai lung had a redemption arc and zhen fell down the path that tai lung did, that would have been insane and the entire movie could have a theme of history repeating itself and redemption. Maybe tai lung fights along side the furious 5 or become the dragon warrior, they could have done something special with tai lung instead of having him appear in the last 20 minutes
Imagine he came back for good. Remember, he was sent to the spirit realm by Po. Tai Lung never actually died, so theory, he could stay in the land of the living
In my opinion the best would be if he refuses po the status of dragon warrior to show humbleness and character growth and that he reconciled with shifu at the end
He had a mini arc with I believe telling Po at the end before entering the portal that Oogway was right to make you the dragon warrior. Him being the next dragon warrior wouldn't be imo the right way to go. What I think would have been way better if maybe they had a villain who brought back old opponents of Po who tells them they want to team them up to destroy Po and all the kung Fu masters in the world. Bring in imo be cool, Tai's nephew from legends of awesomeness. The band of enemies injure and capture various kung fu character good guys that they have introduced through legends of awesomeness and past Kung Fu panda movies. Tai tries to get his nephew to join them, he refuses. Through seeing the grit and determination of Po and his nephew and seeing the villain nearly kill his nephew , Tai steps in and turns against the rest of the villains and helps Po and his nephew and sacrifices his life to save his nephew. His nephew and Shifu tends to Tai Lung while Po finishes the battle and Tai thanks them for helping him to see what he didn't understand before and says his goodbye. Furious 5 have gone off to start new lives, Shifu retires peacefully, and Po welcomes a group of students, who are admirers of Po and the furious 5 to train and takes them to the course where Po struggled through in the first Kung Panda movie. Gives maybe a funny line. Roll credits.
@@Thesigmamailright even if Tai proved to be truly a good guy to accept the dragon warrior role would be to me like If Frodo in Lord of the Rings lost the ring and Sam his best friend took it and claimed he is going to be the one to destroy the ring. While, I believe Sam had a good heart, Frodo accepted the heavy burden of carrying it. Sam came with him to help him complete his burdensome task. Aragorn and friends cheered for Frodo when Sauron was destroyed, but if it were not for Sam carrying Frodo either Sauron's forces would have caught up to Frodo or Gollum would have taken the ring, used it gone invisible and escaped.
And well,to be more precise, they fucked up Zhen too when giving her a really damn rush story and a nonsense plottwist of betraying her master which to some degree, pretty much the same as tailung,i agreed that tailung might not be fit due to their history, but Zhen were absolubtely not qualified either
something that you could alternativly do is have the movie take place in the future when Po is much older, he's starting to feel his age thus the need for someone else to take place of dragon warrior, the time skip could also explain why he wouldn't pick the furious 5 since they would be older aswell. This is pretty decent though I must say
Idea: Po starts overhearing past villains being “resurrected”(the Chameleon disguised as Tai Lung, Lord Shen, and General Kai). He tries to fight them one by one but feels his age catching up and he couldn’t keep up with these said “living versions” of them so throughout the movie we think they are alive and summoned by the Chameleon but in actuality she took their abilities by miraculously summoning them only and wanted more power so they taunt Po and lure him to where they are for his staff to gain more power from the spirit realm It would have made sense instead of making it unclear how old Po is or if he’s still young enough to pass his title down just like that. Or have Zhen try to become one of the participants of the dragon warrior contest and try to warn him why they came all the way from their city to get Po’s attention bc of the Chameleon(without any hints that they are working for them) And what if Zhen dies instead of the Chameleon first? And they get healed after bc the whole apology sequence was too rushed so what if to prove their sorry and how they didn’t want to hurt Po, Zhen offers their life and gets killed in the process trying to distract the Chameleon and free the original 3/infamous 3/the 3 villains(I like to call them the infamous 3). Instead of them trying to escape back to the spirit realm they try to defeat a common enemy seeing as to how Po cannot defeat the Chameleon alone. Of course Lord Shen and Kai will bear grudges on Po or even mock him but still have slight respect behind his back, but Tai Lung has more respect on him than before. And also add the Shifu gets kidnap plot into this so the situation is more dire if the Chameleon wouldn’t be a worldwide threat(she was only a threat to the city as said in the movie) so Shifu can say goodbye to Tai Lung one last time. And have the Chameleon die or have their life essence transferred to Zhen so they can be trapped in the spirit realm without being able to escape and thus Zhen is revived and proves themselves to actually be true to themselves and becoming a good candidate to be the dragon warrior or something
Your movie would be such a good setup for another movie. Tai Lung trying to be the dragon warrior even with all the resentment from the village would be a fun side plot to work through, or maybe even a good solo side film.
Honestly they should have gave the writing to this man, it’s probably the best ending we could’ve had. If someone is gonna write kung fu panda 5 it’s gotta be you.
Finally, someone who is doing their own thing and handling the story rather than just complaining and not properly rewriting the script and share their own ideas. Also I love this script right here.
I think Po having a single student to become the next 'whatever the heck' (not dragon warrior tho) is a good lesson for Po and the next step on his journey. He's gone from "believe in yourself", to "forgive and let go", to then "learn and share". I think the fourth movie was better to be worked around the concept of a new pupil with a lesson of "trust and believe in them". Po pupil could be some little bandit who escaped their band and is on the run and shows acceptional ability but lacks focus/harmony/dedication/etc. The villian could then come from their band, either one or more, and could also bring in another lesson of don't let peer mentality best you or smth. There is no need for any of the previous villians to return. They're not redeemable like the movie made them. Just my thoughts anyways
Me too. I feel the same way. Such a shame they robbed us of that moment. Well there’s still two more movies left in the franchise and we’ll see what happens next, but this one really wasted a good chance. If he’s happy then I guess I am happy too, just because I am in favor of him.
I think you could add a moral conflict. Maybe the Chameleon doesnt want to give anyone a chance (backstory) and Po stands for giving people another chance.
That’s more like it, except I was hoping the animators would make Chameleon one of those characters who is willing to give the bad guys another chance by helping them fulfill their goals as well and not just hers, simply because she has magic powers to summon them all back from the Spirit realm with the promise of granting them whatever they seek on their own missions and returning them the favor in exchange for hers. Of course that wouldn’t fit with her character as we all know her primary goal is to take their powers for herself, but one thing that could at least make her character a bit better for me is she has no ill will towards them (particularly Tai Lung) which would make her seem like a more trustworthy character for the audience. So instead of making him her prisoner, she instead agrees to return him safely home to his master which would give him another chance and does the same for Po, which she does at one point by returning him the staff after using it. I know this sounds like wishful thinking, but it’s just what I was hoping for simply because I am in favor of Tai Lung and his wishes, so I think he deserves another chance by gaining Po’s trust ending their rivalry and Master Shifu’s respect, finding peace with him. Perhaps he even teams up with Po on future missions to protect China and repays his services to the Valley to be pardoned for his crimes. Maybe Po even teaches Tai Lung what it means to be the Dragon warrior to the point where Tai Lung is willing to put in the effort and listen, thus finally getting his chance as the whole plot of the movie revolves on Po trying to find a successor. Maybe he chooses Zhen instead, but guarantees Tai Lung his chance will come someday once Tai Lung has proven himself worthy by gaining Shifu’s respect, the Valley’s trust, mastering all the steps it takes to get there with proper guidance from his mentors and even realizing he’ll eventually need to pass the name on to a new successor when his turn ends. Someone to pass on Tai Lung’s legacy like his nephew Peng I was thinking. It sounds fair to me. I just want the animators to give Tai Lung a second chance is all without ignoring his wishes. I think it’s about time someone did rather than keeping him in the dark. Above all, he needs to regain Master Shifu’s trust.
@@santiagolopez3909 I agree with you. I might have a good addition: Like in Parts 2 and 3, Shifu begins to show Po a new technique. Perhaps he teaches him a technique where one stops feeling and becomes increasingly stronger. However, this technique is very dangerous and requires a state of selflessness. But Po is too preoccupied with thinking about everything. The story takes place a little later after Part 3. Po gives the staff to Master Shifu so he can examine it while Po is at the opening of a shop. Then, the Chameleon attacks and severely wounds Master Shifu. Po drives the Chameleon away with a Shi attack, but Shifu is injured and falls into a coma. The Chameleon flees. Po now seeks revenge. Meanwhile, the Chameleon gathers the old villains, who all want to kill Po together with him. All of them are on his side, but Tai Lung starts to reflect, though he is still evil. Eventually, they reach the Chameleon's army, and a battle ensues. A three-against-one fight erupts: Tai Lung and two other unknown villains against Po. Tai Lung asks why he doesn't give up, and Po tells him about Shifu. Maybe there was a conversation between Shifu and Po before, where Shifu regrets that Tai Lung turned out the way he did. When the two other villains want to kill Po, Tai Lung stops them. He then starts to cry, flees, and goes into a forest to think. Po faces the Chameleon. The fight is initially unbalanced because Po is stronger. Then the Chameleon steals his Kung Fu, and Po becomes weaker. He is nearly defeated. Meanwhile, he sees the Furious Five on the brink of death (due to the army), but they shout at him to keep fighting - for Shifu. Po gets flashbacks and activates the new fighting technique, becoming exponentially stronger. The Chameleon steals his Kung Fu again, but Po continues to grow stronger. Meanwhile, Tai Lung saves the Furious Five. In the end, Po defeats the Chameleon. Back in the Valley of Peace, Tai Lung and Shifu meet and reconcile. Shifu steps down, Po becomes the spiritual leader, and Tai Lung becomes the Dragon Warrior.
@@santiagolopez3909 Yes, he survived. So he woke up from his coma while they were defeating the Chameleon. After that, however, he wanted to finally find his peace and retired.
Good start. Personally. I want Master Tigress to have improved, defeat Tai Lung in a revenge match, and become the Dragon Warrior she wanted to be her whole life. Let Tigress move beyond just being a weak imitation of Tai Lung in movie 1 & 2. Then Tai Lung, realizing that he wasn't special enough, works at the noodle shop and takes over for Poe's first job and the movie ends with his realizing his true destiny when he gets The Noodle Dream. Zhen can be salvaged if she is slowed down, her being a thief who works for The Chameleon and realizes she is on the wrong side is good enough without her being a great fighter with superspeed above Mantis. The Chameleon is harder to salvage. Tai Lung was slightly stronger and faster. Shen was dangerous in a short fight and had an army and had cannons. Kai had a super army, had Chi Superpowers, cool weapons, immunity to Poe's old best attack, and much more experience. But The Chameleon wasn't thaaat special. My idea is have Poe give the staff to fake-Shifu, have Zhen give the Chameleon armor and weapons from the Jade Palace, use the criminals and ghosts for her army, let her absorb the power from the Jade Palace and become a giant Chameleon (who might be breathing blue fire like Godzilla) and let Poe fight a shapeshifting Kaiju who has gone mad with power and would destroy the country in days if not stopped, while wearing Shifu in a cage as her necklace. Then need a new amazing way to defeat insane Kaiju Chameleon who is destabilizing the realms... Humbled Tai Lung and Tigress bean Shen and thus defeat the army, Poe and Ooguy defeat the Kaiju together with a Chi Dragon and a Chi Red Godbird (not a phoenix, not Greek, their sacred bird does not come back to life if it dies, different mythological creature).
This is a pretty cool idea. I had a similar idea about this movie, so I'll spare you a long-as-heck comment. Basically, similar to yours, the chameleon revives all the bad guys (except Kai), and other people from the spirit realm, and chaos happens. Po and The Five try to fight them but these enemies can't die or be killed. (it's like a curse of the black pearl situation) So they have to find these items to undo the whole mess. They eventually meet Zhen and she helps them find these items, ( plot twist Zhen is under a curse that makes her unable to die but shes a living corpse after stealing from someone). Anyway, a high jinx ensues, and eventually, the whole team shows up at the castle. (insert plot twist like in the original script:" The fox wants to be normal again, so had no choice but to team up with the lizard, who she stole from in the first place as the gal said she would remove the curse if she helped her). Anyway Po and others with the help of Zhen (who has a change of heart and a reformed Tai Lung they eventually stop the Chameleon and undo the mess. Zhen gets uncursed. Tai Lung is returned to normal and reconciles with Shifu and the others in a very heart-wrenching scene. and the two decided to stay and join the team. I'm still working on this.
Zhen: "You were bold to defy me, but you forget your place Kitty cat. You are still a spirit" *She tries to send Tai Lung back to the spirit world by touching his soul, like she did Shen earlier but it doesn't work* Tai Lung: *He began to laugh as it felt like he was being tickled* Zhen: "??" *She looks at her staff and tries again over and over* "WHY- WON'T- YOU- VANISH??" Tai Lung: *Laughing his tail off* "I DON'T KNOW!!" Po: "What..? Oh. OHHHHH!! TAI LUNG!" Tai Lung: "Ahahah, what?!" *He says still coming off of the laughing fit he was having* Po: "Remember our fight?! How I used the Woshi Finger hold? It opened up a portal to spirit realm! I think that means-!" Zhen: *She looks on in shock and fear* "You're still alive..?!" Po: "... I was about to say that, but she kinda- beat me to it.." Tai Lung: "I'm not dead..? Hah, I'M NOT DEAD!" *He laughs now in joy and victory. Before standing to face Zhen* "But you, my dear sorceress. will very much be..."
I think also in your script there should be a moment in the middle where the chameleon fools po or another team member, maybe shift or po’s dad again in some way just to further cement how intimidating and feared she should be since you can’t trust anybody since they could be the chameleon at any point, instead of just pushing dudes down stairs smh
Here’s a concept of the Chameleon and Zhen Script: Thought you would all like to read it. 1. Chameleon has more background: - In my Story, The Chameleon has connections and her end game is played out differently interesting. She tried her best to studying the martial arts. However she would fail and not get the meaning of how she could do kung fu even if she is small. One master would of said big or small, we have are own advantage in our Arts, it just needs time. While later she did come across her powers to shape shift. Would mention in her childhood she could camouflage and change colours. This would displeased the master due to her Shapeshifting ability and the study of her new found sorcery, which could lead in dangerous situations or worst for herself. She did not get the meaning of his words. So she jumped into conclusions and begin a life crime, becoming a crime boss, then took over a city with her confined decision. All because of a Grudge and tries to feel powerful over others. When the time was right. Her army she hired, took the city buy surprise. Halting the police and battling the juniper city palace. She killed the original emperor and won. She controls the city, the people, and making sure of no knowledge from the outside world. Leading the city into a facist state or communism. She gains her knowledge outside the city by shapeshifting into different animals. Most effective is reptilian animal forms. Most cases would be the crime families or people she hired to check what happens outside. Therefore having news of the outside world and getting important things to solve her endgame. Showing off the original master that he was wrong that she could do anything with her powers. When one night on the streets of Juniper City. Zhen steals the jewel from her throne during a army march of her pleasing moment. Zhen was caught cause she took so long to get out of sight. The Chameleon looks at Zhen, no fear in her eyes, stood her ground. Then asking about Her name. After revealing it was Zhen, she gives her the jewel she stole. Then after that she offers her a home and sanctuary. On the condition that she will have to she will have to be trained and serve the Chameleon. Overtime, the chameleon show her ways of experience of how to be a better thief and some elements of defence from her past. Zhen stayed in the palace. Sometimes Zhen would let her leave the palace but not the city without her permission. She stole a few things their and their from citizens, cops, and vendors. When tried going back to the den of thieves. She was kicked out by their leader cause she betrayed the her family, The Thieves. Zhen would not come back until Zhen in the future with po. Zhen has improve to her worthy. While the chameleon has improve herself through time. Present day after Kung Fu Panda 3, The Chameleon gets news from her drifters that a new relic has came, but it was from the Dragon Warrior Po. She learned this new found news after learning other dark magic to her sorcery. Goes to a mission bringing Zhen with her to retrive a relic called The Staff of Wisdom. Telling Zhen that she’s ready and set out to the Valley of peace. - At first as a child she wanted to be a hero of Kung Fu. But that changed when sorcery became her power and Apprentice to her side. Her darkside has taken her to a new path of her life. Feeling rejected that’s when her powers are useful but was denied. Her difficult stress was when she pushed her limit of becoming evil. Making deals, robbing places, had an army and crime families. Then took over Juniper city and became Empress. - As a Child she would go to these Kung Fu shows and academies cause she admires their special ability and the martial arts. Even practicing her moves during her private time at home. - I found her true perfect real name for The Chameleon. The Chameleon is her Identity name used by locals or rumours. Her Real name is Chara - Her Shape Shifting ability would form if she has complete physical contact with the person she wants to copy. 5. Zhen’s Past - Zhen was a fox who was Orphaned at an orphanage in juniper city. She was at a mid young age that she was homeless when she got rejected by the Parents cause of her state of a disorder of the urge to steal. Kleptomanic. So the adoption goes to the other kids but not her. Having trouble stealing from kids like any child would take, toys, books, snacks, cookies, and anything that fits value to her. Even trouble at school in learning hours at the orphange. So one day, she goes solo since no one wanted to adopt and give her a home. In the past, Her Mother and Father where Drifters then settled down to Juniper City. Once their, they completely settled then and opened a Chai Shop. Successful in business as well for farm trade. They had a baby and decides to name her Zhen. Months have past since child birth, even after all is going well, the attack of Juniper City has begun. when the Chameleon is about to declare herself as Empress, The parents knew that she will be safe at the orphanage. Tears poured down from the eyes and left Zhen at the doors of the Orphange. They knew she would be safe, as it could lead her in danger with the family. When Zhen was still homeless, She cried of how life is. No one cares about a lonely fox and her parents she never knew. Even during the occupation of the chameleon. Hans heard the cries and spots her in a empty cart. Sheltering herself from the pouring rain one night. Hans just could not just leave a poor little girl. So Hans leaned his hand to her and takes her home. Therefore being part of the Den of Thieves. Learning how to get by in the city. How to steal to help her and her group survive. Watching The thieves gambling and learns it to at a young age for fun. She did have good times their. Until she was adopted again by the Chameleon, and Hans feeling responsible has still feelings for her even after when she was older. Hans kicked her out cause of her side with the chameleon and put them all in danger. Hans was hardened by this decision of being a leader. Hans apologizes by saying. “I’m Sorry, your a risk, and you have to leave.” After that moment, she goes back to the palace. Then that moment, Zhen has improve to The Chameleon worthy.
Your version was amazing. We sure missed out on an amazing storyline. I really wish they would've had one similar to yours! This video makes me sad because it is what could have been.
The way i explain Kai's death is, you cant kill a spirit in the Spirit realm. Otherwise whats the point of a spirit realm? Where would murdered spirits go? Spirit realm's afterlife? Instead Po overloaded Kai with more Chi energy than he could wield causing his spirit's physical form to scatter across the spirit realm, and eventually it reformed after some time.
Tbf tho, if that were the case, what would stop Kai from taking everyones chi again? He was never redeemed so he would have no reason to just stop taking chi.
@@PolinGames IDK if you've seen the fourth one but they kinda redeem him. Which didn't make sense. And that's a good question, who knows, the kfp universe is full of plot holes.
I feel like kai would've been an exception though. His chi is essentially his soul, and when it was overloaded, his soul was completely eradicated into nothingness. I would've been fine if Kai wasn't included, he added nothing and it really makes no sense for him to be so docile in the movie.
@@ochoforreals I love Kai, but including him in the movie only created more questions. The biggest one being how he is still alive. But I would assume spirits can't die. If I remember correctly he bursts into chi energy that is scattered throughout the spirit realm freeing everyone trapped inside. I had always just assumed his chi "spirit" just scattered. His physical manifestation exploded but his spirit remained in the spirit realm. Almost like how the spirits in the urn of whispering warriors don't have a physical form, but they exist inside the urn.
I really hope that people start doing to KFP 4 what they did with Wish, just start making their own movie lol It would be really funny for one and also soothe my heartache from all the wasted potential
The movie was ok, but it was an unnecessary sequel. The 3rd was a perfect way to end the franchise. Edit: Your version of the story is better. Cool idea. 😀👍
If the staff was vulnerable in the mortal realm where it could fall in the hands of villains like the Chameleon, why did Oogway give it to Po? I know I’m overthinking this but there must be a reason (the movie might have been an accident, but this choice in the end of the 3rd movie wasn’t)…
Yeah, I don't believe Tai Lung would be perfect to become The Dragon Warrior, he didn't understood the meaning before, why he would now? It makes more sense if he came back from the Chameleon, stole his powers but then he escapes. Then, in the middle of the movie, he finds Po and Zhen on her way tothe Chameleon's lair, and he makes a rematch against Po. Tai Lung would lose, and then Po would try to say something spiritual to convince it's not late for him to change, which of course Tai Lung doesn't accept immediately and escapes. He could have a heart to heart conversation with Shifu which he makes him have a heel face turn, have closure with Shifu and helps Po in the climax to defeat the Chameleon. I also think Lord Shen would rather go back to the Spiritual Realm because he finally found Inner Peace and go back to the living would be hell to him. Tho I do like the idea of Li Shan fighting Shen for revenge, but he would at first be afraid, brining back the trauma from the last time he saw him. I would also add the idea that Shifu can't be there for Po forever to embrace the theme of Change, that Po can't always relay on Shifu for advices. And him being kidnnaped by the Chamaleon would give Po a reason to go to Juniper City and rescue him. And once after defeating the Chameleon and Po accepting his role as Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, Shifu goes to the Spirit Realm where he reunites with Oogway. Po would be saddened, but he also accept this becasue he already accepted change in his life.
If this was really the movie I would have cried because tai lung is my favorite character of kfp and i wish this is how the movie should have been but maybe kfp 5 i hope tai lung will get it and i hope it's not zhen who has it 😭
Personally I think that if Po is to ask Tai Lung if he wants to be the Dragon Warrior at all He should respond with something like "It was never my destiny to be the Dragon Warrior." Conveying that he's finally overcome his grief and accepted the fact that he wasn't meant to be the Dragon Warrior. This also reflects the beginning of the film where Shifu accepts that he won't ever achieve Oogways role as Spiritual Leader. Like father like son
I think it'd be pretty funny if Shen went back to his old ways, Tai Lung worked with the Furious Five and battled Shen and just ignored the Chameleon XD
Honestly I think it would've been better for Tai Lung to get his redemption byt not be the dragon warrior. A big part of a satisfying arc for him imo is for him to realize that he was great, exceptional even, without the title dragon warrior. Also he's dead so for continuity sake it should've been Tigress. My girl deserved better.
Honestly, I would bring back Kai with easy explaination: He actually didn't die or get erased from existence, but rather, the Chi that Po gave him was too much for him, causing him to explode, losing all the powers to lose Chi, no longer being a Spirit Warrior in the process. Honestly, I know there are alot better ideas than mine, but it's better to explain how he was revived rather than not explaining.
I really like the creativity and execution of this script. I was a bit skeptical about Tai Lung being allowed to live again but.. as someone who's a sucker for second chances, I can appreciate it. One question I have though is where would Mr. Ping fit into this idea of yours?
I for one would've also left Shen out of KFP 4- he was a last minute addiction for the same reasons they added Kai- blatant fan service, and both hardly fit the storyline. Instead I'd focus on how Tai Lung gave his Chi to Master Chameleon in order to retaliate against Po- only to have her enslave him to no end, prompting him to redeem himself and siding with Po, Shifu & the Furious Five, perhaps even reconciling with Oogway at the end!
I haven’t seen this movie yet either, but this does sound like an improvement from what the movie did with the Chameleon. Hopefully I will still enjoy the movie when I see it.
The movie I think is just missing an emotional story and substance it would have been a cool twist and reveal to have the Chameleon knew POs mother or something or kinda swayed him to the dark side with the promise of bringing back his mom or something I was hoping that would be in this movie most of all because her connecting to the spirit world would have given po that opportunity to finally meet his mom which I feel like that is missing having more of a history or tie to Po and his kind
Now this would have been a worthy fourth movie compared to what we actually got, I have standards for Kung Fu Panda movies which were not met with the fourth movie. You really captured my dissatisfaction with the fourth movie in your review video too. Like it was a disaster, I'm surprised more fans weren't outraged.
It was a good spin on it! The only thing I would love, was to make Chameleon motivation...well..better in general. Being too small was an unfunny joke, and being cast aside is an improvment, but is there a way to spin it, for her to be more interesting? I thought about her powers, what if it was a bit like this kid from Encanto, where she can't find herself, always mimicing others for her own benefit/being forced to by world (being poor, manipulated by someone, anything else really) Like, maybe she tried to be a good person, but people rejected her like it happened with others from furious five? It would tie to them, I know it's a Po's story, but none of previous movie villains were an outcast that ended up on bad path. She might've decided she wanted the legacy of kung-fu like others did, and if she can't become a master/legend like the Dragon Warior, then she would become the one to defeat him and be know as the one to succed (with 'help' of past villains, but she would take the whole credit, they are technically dead after all) It might also tie into the legacy, and pasing it down thing. Po willingly wants to let others take his place as Dragon Warrior, while Chameleon wants to forcibly makes her way into history, no matter the cost
Hmm, one question to start out about Chameleon's rewritten background.... would she still have been poor if she was a "master"? I guess that more or less extends to how the heck is any kung fu warrior paid and all if they spend their whole lives training. Like are these temples primarily donated to by the people who respect them or by default they can ask/order food out of the kindness of the people? Are they given grants by some form of government or alliance to continue their work in protecting China? I suppose funding was never really explained in-verse lol.
Honestly I love this more than what the movie did. The only thing I'd change is Po deciding to wait a little longer in choosing The Dragon Warrior and Tai Lung becoming like Rayuga, helping defeat Chameleon, vanishes to better find himself as the Spirit Realm helped him in finding Inner Peace about his past but he is lost too as he doesn't really know himself and what he likes, dislikes etc. So I'd have Tai Lung become The Dragon Warrior in the 5th or 6th movie. Earning it after finding himself, reconciling with Shifu and proving himself by helping Po defeat other villains.
@@ShavayD I definitely didn’t hate this movie I had fun with it but it definitely could’ve been way better and I’m working on fixing that 😂 And I’m probably only putting skadoosh once because that’s how it should be
It’s not a bad story and it’s certainly an improvement on what we got. I think there could at least be some way to involve Kai in this movie, and I think if we did we could have used it as a good opportunity to explain his motivations from KFP3 which were noticeably very absent. It was hinted at in the third film however the motivation for Kai’s actions could have been once he discovered the power of Chi, he tried to take the pandas chi to make him stronger, as it was mentioned he was fighting a war with Oogway, so he attempted to take their power to win said war, however Oogway stopped him and banished him to the spirit realm, and Kai’s motivation for wanting to destroy Oogway memory is because Oogway made sure any trace of him was erased from history, meaning not just all the atrocities he committed were forgotten, but also all the good he did and the lives he saved, so Kai is angry that Oogway erased all traces of his memory. Which explains why he returns to take the chi of everyone that knows of Oogway, to try and do the same thing to him. One thing you missed out was what the actual purpose and message of the movie was, each one had its own individual lesson but KFP4 didn’t at all, I think it could have tied in with Po facing all his past villains and using the teaching role he was given at the end of the third movie to put tai lung, Shen and Kai on the right path as opposed to just fighting them. So the whole villains returning thing wasn’t just a gimmick and instead had an actual purpose. He faces his past villains technically however it’s technically just the chameleon in form of Po’s antagonists, while he is trying to teach the actual villains inner peace through a redemption arc type of thing. So that way there is an actual reason for bringing these 3 characters back. So KFP3 was Po learning how to teach his friends, family etc, while this movie focuses on him taking on the challenge of him teaching those who were formerly against him, which makes for a very interesting concept I think. Lastly the whole dragon warrior and passing the mantle thing should really be moved onto a 5th movie, the tai lung redemption arc is a great idea but with everything that was going on in this movie for him to truly be Po’s successor it’s better for it to be explored in an entirely different film. Lastly for the Chameleon, I don’t understand why they did the whole sorcery thing with no explanation, it seems a bit far fetched even for the KFP universe and it would have been better if it was just her natural ability to be able to shapeshift, as opposed to using magic just because yes, especially with no explanation as to where it came from. I like the whole idea with her turning into shifu to steal the staff, however her backstory could tie into another character. Tai lung was connected to shifu, Shen was connected to Po and Kai was connected to Oogway, she could potentially be a former furious 5 member or someone who was rejected from joining them, taking some elements from Tai Lungs backstory about rejection from Kung Fu, but totally retconning the size thing because that was just ridiculous. So her motivation stemming from her rejection from joining the furious five because of her shapeshifting abilities, which they used to exclude her as the kung fu masters saw this as a way of cheating and stealing others power, so they cast her out, so she wants to bring back all the kung fu masters from the spirit realm in order to defeat the current furious 5 and take all of their powers as an act of revenge. I think all these major points could really fix 90% of the issues within this movie. There is of course other aspects but these crucial ones would really change the entire outcome of the story.
Also this purpose can be used to explain why Po gives Zhen and an army of criminals the opportunity to help him save China and kung fu, as opposed to just reusing the panda army, as it ties in with the purpose of the movie and what Po is doing with his former villains
Shoot your vision of KFP4 would've been a great addition to the trilogy. But now, us, and DreamWorks has to deal with this FLOP of a movie. Which is sad, cause I was originally excited to see it! Until I heard some things.. such as po won't be the dragon warrior, TF5 won't be present, and that there was some budget cuts, and disagreements in the studio..
I would still think Kai may be needed, whether or not he did die in the spirit realm, however a second death works there. If not, don’t bother with Shen either if he’s going to just be a plot device for Lee Shan. I also dislike the idea of Tai Lung becoming the next Dragon Warrior, his whole arc in the first film was that he was chasing a title that was never meant for him. Shifu literally states this: “You were not meant to be the Dragon Warrior, that was not my fault!” If he MUST be the Dragon Warrior, have him be a co-Dragon Warrior alongside Po. That way Po not only has a successor but a partner, he can now tackle both responsibilities at the same time. If it were completely up to me though, I’d probably have him willingly go back to the spirit realm alongside Shifu whose days may be up to really punch our emotions. As for Zhen, I’d probably keep her in the movie but better. Just have her be less annoying and not a thief. Maybe as someone Po chose to be the next Warrior but she realises she’s not meant for the title and refuses to have Po train her for it. This makes her a parallel to Tai Lung, only instead she realises she can be a hero in her own way, instead of chasing a title not meant for her.
I don't think Shen should come back at all. He is the series' greatest villain. And what's more important, at the end of 2, he CHOSE death. He chose his own hatred, his evil, instead of repenting and turning a new leaf. I don't know why he (or any of the other villains for that matter) are in Kung Fu Panda heaven. I suppose there was a Tai Lung easter egg in KFP3 where it's implied Kai defeated and took Tai Lung's chi as well. So maybe? But idk.
Actually I kinda like zhen to in the script She was awesome strong independent and surprisingly a tricky fox not to mention the voice actor of Akwafina
How about The Chameleon suffered from an illness that prevented her from becoming a Kung Fu master - and so, she turned to magic to steal the powers of masters to become the strongest warrior alive (but never truly gets over her illness; which is why she continues to steal so many). The Chameleon eventually hires Zhen to steal Po's staff - which she does, but is confronted by Shifu and is forced to take him as well. The Chameleon opens the Spirit Realm to summon Kung Fu masters and steal their powers...but Tai Lung escapes. Po struggles to choose the right candidate, but then Tai Lung reveals The Chameleon's plan. They head to Juniper City to take down the Chameleon. On their way, Tai Lung and Po train and begin to learn from each other - but the Furious Five still have trouble trusting Tai Lung. Once there, they meet up with Zhen, who agrees to help them…for a price. They head to the Chameleon's lair, but Zhen betrays them and the Chameleon steals their Kung Fu (minus Po, Tigress and Tai Lung who narrowly escape). Po and Tai Lung get into a duel after Po loses his confidence, but Tai Lung encourages him. Zhen realizes her mistakes and helps Po convince the Den of Thieves to stop the Chameleon. As the villagers battle the Chameleon's army, Po, Tigress and Tai Lung try to fight the Chameleon but get overwhelmed when the Chameleon turns into a horrifying Chimaera. The Chameleon then steals their powers, and soon overpowers them. Po gives Tigress his staff, with which she summons a majestic dragon of Yin and Yang, which defeats the Chameleon; and PO uses the staff to return all of the stolen kung fu skills to their owners, who return to the Spirit Realm. Shen and Kai take the Chameleon with them. As Tai Lung departs, Po closes the portal; allowing Tai Lung to stay and further redeem himself. Tai Lung gives his respect to Po and finally acknowledges him as the true Dragon Warrior. Zhen is also given the new role of leader to the Den of Thieves. Back at the Valley, Tai Lung reunites with Shifu, expressing that he will wait as long as it takes to be forgiven…before having a cup of warm tea with his old master. Po finally chooses Tigress as his successor. And so, Po and Tai Lung help train Tigress to become the next Dragon Warrior. I liked your version as well, man. This is just the version I'd go with if the people were trying to go for a female successor - 'cause Tigress would obviously be the right choice. But to be honest, Tai Lung would still be my prefered choice.
Aside from a mid backstory for the chameleon, I think the movie is not that bad. I recommended it to families and I know it’s not as boring as how other people say it is because I have watched the prior movies in my childhood and I can see how the 4th movie could’ve gotten better potential.
Maybe thier would be a way to bring kai back just not po's staff but the chealeaon her self serioesly shes a sorcress she propeply knows some very forbidden magic that could revive those that are completly gone like kai
Personally I think the panda army idea is a bit shaky. Logistically they're pretty far away, at least quite secluded from the rest of the world. If the chameleon pulls up with a surprise attack there will be no time mobilizing that army…and supplying an army of gluttonous pandas far from home could be a nightmare. That, and the idea of pulling an idyllic people out of their village to wage war because somewhere else is under threat is a bit of a questionable message for kung fu panda. I mean it's not unrealistic, it could become a theme, war is hell and all that, but that's more dynasty drama than kung fu.
@@ShavayD Well, the Spider-Verse movies are literally my favourite movies of all time, you could play half a second and I’d notice. You have taste, my man!
My only contribution to the discussion is why not actually give The Chameleon a real name? Or a play on name like…. I don’t know, “Cammi Lun?” You’d probably have to improve it but my point still stands
Check out my review on the movie here th-cam.com/video/8YLx9QuRKR8/w-d-xo.html
You even said it here - SHE says that she wasn't included as a Kung Fu master because she was small. There is no cutscene showing it. It's simply established that this is HER rationalisation why she wasn't a master. It's called an "unreliable narrator", which the audience sees at once to be wrong because of Mantis and Viper (who ALSO don't have any other names beside their species).
Chameleon: ‘I wasn’t allowed to learn kung fu because I’m small!’
Mantis: *Am I a fucking joke to you-*
Fr! And Viper....who has no limbs
And chicken who's a chicken
And master lizard who prob same size as the chameleon
how the fuck are you fucking able to say fuck in comments but when I fucking say fuck they fucking delete it
Forget about mantis. Master shifu is literally the same size as the chameleon

Crazy thing is that I predicted that her backstory is probably gonna be about her being weak and rejected by society or smth, which was right 💀
Nah it was because she was small which ever more stupid

Have Tai Lung try to avoid Zhen from taking that path, I’d love that as part of his redemption arc
Very good idea! I guess it's kinda like Cars 3
@@ShavayD yeah!
Idea:
Po starts overhearing past villains being “resurrected”(the Chameleon disguised as Tai Lung, Lord Shen, and General Kai). He tries to fight them one by one but feels his age catching up and he couldn’t keep up with these said “living versions” of them so throughout the movie we think they are alive and summoned by the Chameleon but in actuality she took their abilities by miraculously summoning them only and wanted more power so they taunt Po and lure him to where they are for his staff to gain more power from the spirit realm
It would have made sense instead of making it unclear how old Po is or if he’s still young enough to pass his title down just like that.
Or have Zhen try to become one of the participants of the dragon warrior contest and try to warn him why they came all the way from their city to get Po’s attention bc of the Chameleon(without any hints that they are working for them)
And what if Zhen dies instead of the Chameleon first?
A better idea, we don’t retcon 1 and 3, and Po stays as the dragon warrior
Your movie would be such a good setup for another movie. Tai Lung trying to be the dragon warrior even with all the resentment from the village would be a fun side plot to work through, or maybe even a good solo side film.
A nice film about redemption and proving worth and realizing what really matters in life.
*Chameleon:* It’s becoming apparent to me…
I can deny it no longer!
… I am small…

Way to blow it, DreamWorks.

@@tankatlus5797 Awesome! I'll be looking forward on seeing them too. Inspiration and creative used for good must be encouraged.
You guys literally made a script that's a million times better and pretty much what I was expecting to see.
the only real criticism I can think with this is that Lord Shen doesn't seem to get much to do as a character or have time for depth in general
I was actually expecting talung to have a bigger role in the story. Instead, he has a few minutes of screen time and doesn't even act like himself
The Chameleon had a very good reason for being evil!
The reason is...
SHES SMOL!
Exactly 💯
“Fine, I’ll do it myself”
I think the chameleon could have been a good villain. She doesn’t need a Shen or tai lung level backstory but a better backstory nevertheless
Agreed! 👍
I seriously thought Tai Lung was going to be dragon warrior by the end of the film. I really wanted that to happen in some way.
@@fursonia9502 And does Master Shifu get healed?
@@santiagolopez3909 Yes, he survived. So he woke up from his coma while they were defeating the Chameleon. After that, however, he wanted to finally find his peace and retired.
@@fursonia9502 Glad he did. If anyone deserves better it’s them. 😉
The fact that fan-fics of what KFP 4 should be are way more interesting than the actual movie
Good start.
I find it hilarious how you haven’t even mentioned Mr. Ping once to go with your new script.
Never forget DOUBLE DAD DEFENSE BOIII!!!
Did I not? Oh.....well you made the adjustment already 😂 He'll help Lee fight Shen
Zhen: "You were bold to defy me, but you forget your place Kitty cat. You are still a spirit" *She tries to send Tai Lung back to the spirit world by touching his soul, like she did Shen earlier but it doesn't work*
Tai Lung: *He began to laugh as it felt like he was being tickled*
Zhen: "??" *She looks at her staff and tries again over and over* "WHY- WON'T- YOU- VANISH??"
Tai Lung: *Laughing his tail off* "I DON'T KNOW!!"
Po: "What..? Oh. OHHHHH!! TAI LUNG!"
Tai Lung: "Ahahah, what?!" *He says still coming off of the laughing fit he was having*
Po: "Remember our fight?! How I used the Woshi Finger hold? It opened up a portal to spirit realm! I think that means-!"
Zhen: *She looks on in shock and fear* "You're still alive..?!"
Po: "... I was about to say that, but she kinda- beat me to it.."
Tai Lung: "I'm not dead..? Hah, I'M NOT DEAD!" *He laughs now in joy and victory. Before standing to face Zhen* "But you, my dear sorceress. will very much be..."

I think also in your script there should be a moment in the middle where the chameleon fools po or another team member, maybe shift or po’s dad again in some way just to further cement how intimidating and feared she should be since you can’t trust anybody since they could be the chameleon at any point, instead of just pushing dudes down stairs smh
Here’s a concept of the Chameleon and Zhen Script:
Thought you would all like to read it.
1. Chameleon has more background:
- In my Story, The Chameleon has connections and her end game is played out differently interesting.
Her Real name is Chara
- Her Shape Shifting ability would form if she has complete physical contact with the person she wants to copy.
5. Zhen’s Past
- Zhen was a fox who was Orphaned at an orphanage in juniper city.
Oooh! that’s kinda cool! I thought he just got deleted XD
This script is actually so cool 😳 you fixed all of the problems i had with the movie
I really hope that people start doing to KFP 4 what they did with Wish, just start making their own movie lol
It would be really funny for one and also soothe my heartache from all the wasted potential
Yeah, for me too.
The movie was ok, but it was an unnecessary sequel. The 3rd was a perfect way to end the franchise.
Edit: Your version of the story is better. Cool idea. 😀👍
Wow nice fan script bro, hope dreamworks adapt this scripts for the 4th movie, can't wait to see it
If the staff was vulnerable in the mortal realm where it could fall in the hands of villains like the Chameleon, why did Oogway give it to Po? I know I’m overthinking this but there must be a reason (the movie might have been an accident, but this choice in the end of the 3rd movie wasn’t)…
KFP4 was a movie length cartoon show arc, not bad but not movie or main franchise material
Now I’m more sad :C your script is much better and thinking about that that it’s not the real one makes me sad now
If this was really the movie I would have cried because tai lung is my favorite character of kfp and i wish this is how the movie should have been but maybe kfp 5 i hope tai lung will get it and i hope it's not zhen who has it 😭
Personally I think that if Po is to ask Tai Lung if he wants to be the Dragon Warrior at all
He should respond with something like "It was never my destiny to be the Dragon Warrior." Conveying that he's finally overcome his grief and accepted the fact that he wasn't meant to be the Dragon Warrior. This also reflects the beginning of the film where Shifu accepts that he won't ever achieve Oogways role as Spiritual Leader.
Like father like son
Never let Mike Mitchell cook again. Bring back Jennifer Yuh Nelson!
Fr tho
This script is just... ✨ perfect ✨
Sounds pretty good. Though I feel Shen would double cross that lizard. He can't be trusted.
Honestly, I would bring back Kai with easy explaination:
He actually didn't die or get erased from existence, but rather, the Chi that Po gave him was too much for him, causing him to explode, losing all the powers to lose Chi, no longer being a Spirit Warrior in the process.
I thought about her powers, what if it was a bit like this kid from Encanto, where she can't find herself, always mimicing others for her own benefit/being forced to by world (being poor, manipulated by someone, anything else really)
Like, maybe she tried to be a good person, but people rejected her like it happened with others from furious five? It would tie to them, I know it's a Po's story, but none of previous movie villains were an outcast that ended up on bad path. She might've decided she wanted the legacy of kung-fu like others did, and if she can't become a master/legend like the Dragon Warior, then she would become the one to defeat him and be know as the one to succed (with 'help' of past villains, but she would take the whole credit, they are technically dead after all)
It might also tie into the legacy, and pasing it down thing. Po willingly wants to let others take his place as Dragon Warrior, while Chameleon wants to forcibly makes her way into history, no matter the cost
Good work! This should've been the movie.
Amazing story. I also thought the same tai lung character should have redeemed in this movie.

This sounds so much better than the current movie that i heard from the reviews.
Dreamworks, hire this man.
That’s funny I’m actually writing a script myself
Awesome! Remember.....even if you just write "Skadoosh", that's a script 10x better than what we got
@@ShavayD I definitely didn’t hate this movie I had fun with it but it definitely could’ve been way better and I’m working on fixing that 😂
And I’m probably only putting skadoosh once because that’s how it should be
I'm glad to see that we ourselves are cooking up with our own takes for KFP 4.
Sounds way better then what we got 😂
Your idea is honestly really good
To Explain Kai's return, I guess he just respawned!
Ngl, if the chameleon shapeshifted into master oogway and po fought against the most powerful king fu legend
You bring up some great points, especially with the Chameleon's backstory
3:46 Maybe The Chameleon Should Find The Peices Of Kai In The Spirit Realm And Craft His Spirit Back
Good idea
Underrated this would be amazing
This is a WAY better script. Got so invested and excited 😂
I was Also remaking The Script and story for Kung Fu panda 4 2. Changing the characters, research, and make it right for everyone.
There’s gotta be a thing with sword fighters.
Jetstream Sam
No way bro just made a better script in less then 2 hours then dreamworks in 8 years
I don't think Shen should come back at all.
So maybe? But idk.
Your version sounds amazing
AWESOME!! Very good imagination!!
This version is a 10/10
Thanks, man 🙌
Honestly I like the fan script.also in kung fu panda 4 I thought po would have bin a teacher of some sort.
A name thai i feel could work for The Chameleon would been Khzilla, Madame Khzilla.
Somebody make an animation of this
Please
This legend deserves it.
Aside from a mid backstory for the chameleon, I think the movie is not that bad. I recommended it to families and I know it’s not as boring as how other people say it is because I have watched the prior movies in my childhood and I can see how the 4th movie could’ve gotten better potential.
the chameleon could literally erased from the movie and it still would have been the same movie
4:00 Have you forgot that hes essentially Immortal??? He could have literally respawned!
Maybe thier would be a way to bring kai back just not po's staff but the chealeaon her self serioesly shes a sorcress she propeply knows some very forbidden magic that could revive those that are completly gone like kai
same...tai lung should new dragon warrior or the next best should be tigress
Ironic that I got a trailer for King fu Panda 4 pop up in the middle of the video.
I mean can you even die in the spirt realm because technically you are already dead and you can live for eternity over their just saying
Great excellent 100 times better then what movie store
Personally I think the panda army idea is a bit shaky. Logistically they're pretty far away, at least quite secluded from the rest of the world. If the chameleon pulls up with a surprise attack there will be no time mobilizing that army…and supplying an army of gluttonous pandas far from home could be a nightmare.
That, and the idea of pulling an idyllic people out of their village to wage war because somewhere else is under threat is a bit of a questionable message for kung fu panda. I mean it's not unrealistic, it could become a theme, war is hell and all that, but that's more dynasty drama than kung fu.

My only contribution to the discussion is why not actually give The Chameleon a real name? Or a play on name like…. I don’t know, “Cammi Lun?” You’d probably have to improve it but my point still stands
