@Tungg_ the one in the video description (CT10HY04) is actually not the one that he has in the video. The one in the video has those 3 big vertical grooves in both connectors that goes into the stereo.... CT10HY04 has different pin layout (as seen in the picutre in the link). Correct one is indeed CT10HY07. I have both, learned the hard way :)
@@Crackhonos Hmm looks like you're right. Had to dig through my messages. I grabbed it through a mate for staff price so looks like I had the wrong link saved when I made the video, will update info. Sorry for the confusion!
Thanks for this video was a great help i also have ordered the amp and patch harness. Is there anything else needed besides the amp and extra harness? Also are you happy with the sound
I unfortunately bought with the 04 harness. did not read the comments. have now ordered the 07 harness. just to confirm that the 07 harness works on the pre facelift?
Thanks for your little tutorial! Everything worked quite well and exactly as described. After the installation I noticed two things: the amp always remains switched on (Blue LED lights up continuously) although the car is turned off and you can even hear the speakers buzzing. Did someone notice the same?
@@300kilowatt ❤️ happy it helped. Can't notice anything from the amp because it's tucked away, no buzzing noises on my end. Did you also cut the cable?
Is the harness compatible with any pioneer amp? Also, what is the blue wire? I understand why you're cutting it, but what was its purpose in the first place?
It should be, long as it has the same connection as to what I linked. But I haven't tested or seen anyone try any other models of amps for the i30. The blue wire is labelled as 'satellite' if I remember correctly. I'm not 100% sure on its original purpose tbh, everyone just said to cut that HAHAHA.
This was for the pre-facelift model. According to a post I saw on the FB group you'll need the CT10HY07 for the facelift. But I'd double check to confirm.
You do realise that the blue and white wire you cut is the remote turn on wire and I can see in the video that you're amp isn't even powered up so it's doing nothing

Thanks for watching! Didn't do the speaker upgrade, wanted to see how much of an improvement the amp would give and it's definitely night and day. It's still not as good as my partner's Cerato GT which uses JBL speakers though. I can hear that there is room for improvement by replacing the stock speakers, but for me and my budget this is perfectly fine. My next DIY project is the FL head unit, but the problem is trying to source one!
Its the wrong T-Harness. We need the CT10HY07 right?
CT10HY07 is for the facelift model afaik. I have the pre-facelift one, which needs a different T-harness

Thanks for the guide! I will be doing the same install next week... also for some reason the harness goes only for 5 Euros in my country lol
Timely video bro. My amp and harness are arriving next week and I'll be following your guide. Hopefully not FL same as PFL.
Thanks man! You should be fine, it's a fairly simple process so I hope the video makes it extra easy!
Did the install. Didn't need to cut the wire in the FL and lost a screw in the dash - hope no rattles lol. Thank you for the vid 🎉
