Honestly the thing that upsets me with Samsung is that I feel like they’re going backwards, they had a 6.9 inch phone then went down to 6.8, they had flagships with micro sd option and then they removed it when they don’t even have their own cloud service anymore because they shut it down. They had a phone with 16GB RAM and then they downgraded the future phones to 12GB RAM max. Like wtf is going on with them?
in fairness the ram downgrade isn't as bad as it sounds because the storage is fast enough to act as temporary ram and the physical 12 gb is faster than the old 16 gigs bcs the actual ram used is better. I do miss the sd card though but all these points also go for basically every phone on the market (bring back the headphone jack. like if anyone says there's not enough room for it then look at the 7th gen ipod nano ffs)
@@berennicholas5003 not really. Comparing as card slot to headphone jack isn’t a good comparison. As I said there’s no native cloud storage for the Galaxy phones as the iPhones. With the headphone jack gone we have Bluetooth headsets to use. Meaning we have a resolution to that problem but we don’t have a resolution for the storage issue. Yes we can use OneDrive or some other cloud service but it doesn’t function the same way as iCloud Photos does. You can’t see your past saved images or videos in your Gallery. You have to go to OneDrive and see it there in a file.
I really believe that the longer the phone gets updates, the worse the phone gets. I remember back in the day I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 that was on Android 7.1 and wasn't supposed to get any more updates and the phone worked perfect and had no issues, but Samsung decided to give it Android 8.0 and that destroyed the phone in every way. It killed the performance, battery life went to crap, and the phone would get very hot just for being on. I think Samsung purposely updated that phone to kill it, so anyone using that phone would have to upgrade or something. Now I know that Samsung phones run much better now with OneUI. The Note 20 may run fine with Android 14, but then again it could turn a great phone into a paper weight. I've seen it happen more than once. Just my personal opinion.
is there a Way you can stop the Update or Choose not to update it ? I have a Xiaomi Poco X3 and I can choose to update it or not, I was wondering if it's the same for samsung.
In my country, they are so much issue of Samsung Note 20 Ultra users after update. Green tint, green line, pink line and samsung will not guarante, the users have to pay around $200 for lcd replacement
My note 20 is not showing any signs of life..... Although it is on and vibrating but display is black... It turns on after putting into freezer but after few seconds turns black..... And im sure i did nothing wrong... Its just 1.5 yrs old device if anyone could have... That would be great 😭
Frustrated to say that my note 20 has exact same issue. Screen faded to black... phone still turns on, vibrates and sounds when ringing. But totally black screen. Loved this phone up until the recent update

its just sad that My 1500 dollar phone ive had for almost 3 years or something, is going obsolete in some aspects. Dude, I love this phone! honestly the best phone I ever had was the LG Gflex. and the Note 20 ultra Is leagues beyond it. hands down the best phone Samsung has ever produced IMO. Or at the very least, the best phone Ive ever paid an astronomical price for and never regreted that decision lol but every new samsung these days doesnt seem all that much better than what I have now, other than a new battery...So why upgrade?
A couple of days ago (July 2023) an almost imperceptible green line appeared on the screen of my Note 20 Ultra, I bought it on October 1, 2021 and I have never updated it, not even now in June 2023. I did not update it because previously i had an s9+ and with each update it got slower and lost stuff. My Note 20 Ultra is not even two years old, quite expensive that it cost me and it already has this problem. I cannot go to claim a guarantee because it is a phone bought in the United States and sold in Latin America, in my country Samsung does not sell products due to political restrictions. What worries me the most is that this small line can evolve and the screen ends up being unusable, a screen change according to people who are dedicated to that (who buy it abroad and place it here) costs me 450 usd, too expensive for my pocket...

@@TheTechPreacher Thanks, I even looked for a possible solution on TH-cam, possibly it is the flexible printed circuit connective bonding strip that has moved slightly from the board and produces this failure, that is solved with a flex cable bonding machine that waterproof and heat bonds the tape. Sometimes it is not the screen as such but the tape, and for changing the tape they charge you as if you needed a full screen replacement. One of those machines is very expensive, around 3000 usd, unfortunately in my country they still do not have this technology. When I saw your video, it also made me think that planned obsolescence could be a possibility, greetings.
Mine has the same issue. Green flashing line across the lower part of the screen. Screen suddenly died & left me without a phone. Left the phone alone for a month & hooked it up to charge one night & the screen turned on again, but the next morning it was dead again. The green flashing lines were more frequent the night it came back to life. Almost constantly flashing the green streak. Weird issue. Samsungs quality control is non-existent.
@@BobRizz. Now the green stripe has turned pink and flickers a bit at the top, I'm expecting the worst. I'm disappointed in Samsung, I've always championed their phones over iPhones in any tech debate.
I got the June 2023 joint for my note 20 ultra on t-mobile and it's fantastic. It still works like brand new. Did they drop their device? I haven't had any problems. I'm even using this device over my S22 ultra.
I'm with T-mobile, and I also have a note 20 ultra And my update caused my screen to go completely black Gonna cost me more than what I paid for it to get it fixed
Yep got a nasty pink vertical line on my note 20 ultra a few days after the update. NO I didn't drop my phone or anything. Also tried factory reset and it's still there.
My S22 Ultra was working perfectly and then it started an update. I waited for the update to finish so I could check on something for a friend, but when the update was finished, my phone no longer worked. It would no longer connect with my cellular provider. So it was working great, the phone updated, the phone hasn’t worked since then. Now it has the screen flickering going on as well. We’ve switched to iPhone now and look forward to great customer service from them. Sorry Samsung but you’ve let us down one too many times!
@TheTechPreacher yup they got rid of camera assistant for no reason and battery life is extremely bad. I use to get 8-10 hours of SoT, now it's about half of that even with a brand new Samsung battery installed.
The crazy thing I just realized I just got a security update 2 days ago for my Samsung Galaxy s20 FE 5G. 😅 As long as that security patch coming in I'm good. Now my LG Wing and V60.. I think that's it.. I about get the Sony Xperia iv I just got make sure it's a U.S version..
My S21u got this issue after the update. The green line just appeared suddenly while browsing fb. It seem common issue throughout the s series. My local group even s23u is having such issue. Not much ppl talking about the samsung green line issue.

My main phone is an S23 Ultra. I still have my Note 20 Ultra but got the Black Screen of Death a year ago. I will have it repaired since that is the last of the Note series.
I got my note 20 ultra in January 2021 on a 3 year contract. So, it runs out January 2024. I have no had a single problem with my device. I have run out of space for my movies, but just delete old ones and live without a massive film collection. I mean it hasn't so much as frozen once. It just works everytime, all the time. I literally use it as a WiFi device for my house as I have unlimited data, and I get 5g in my home. So I set the mobile hotshot on and run my xbox and laptop from it. I use around 200gig of data a month sometimes alot more. The phone just doesn't know the meaning of "can't do that" or "doesn't compute." The thing is a god damb tank when it comes to software, and also its built like a tank too. I've dropped it down staircases, out of car windows while driving, and I use the flashlight as a nightlight every single night. The phone is all and more I could ask for.
I still use my s8 and normal peoples would use it still as a main device its capable to satisfy an average user but they killing it... not even talking aboute note10+ is a power tool and they killed
Hey bro, a lot from us owners in the Philippines are having a lot of issues like this. New issue is black screen. I just received the black screen of death just this afternoon. Samsung says, they charge for replacing the screen. And Samsung do not have any issues on the Samsung Note 20u. Hope you can help us get more information about Samsung recognizing this update or this issues with the May 2023 update. Thank you bro. More power to you!
My sister's S20 Ultra had the same issue, she got mad at herself because she thought she did something wrong. Not knowing that this happens to a lot of samsung phones. Tsk tsk.
It can bee repaired i hawed same problem and hawe solwed it whit hair dryer Heat your display with a hairdryer for 2-5 minutes and then turn on the phone, it should work for me, it did.
Note 20 Ultra is still surprisingly expensive for a phone of its age, I'd strongly recommend to go for the S21 Ultra/S22 Ultra, the price is practically the same but they win with the Note 20 Ultra in every way possible
Damn it's a shame these issues are happening with such a powerful last of it's kind (SD card support/headphone jack) device. Unfortunate also that it's no longer receiving major updates.
I updated my Note 20 Ultra and now my phone is useless! It says "Phone is not registered on a network. Emergency calls only." My carrier says my phone is not reading my sim card. My sim card works in another phone. Samsung customer service said do a network reset. That didn't work. My carrier (Cricket wireless) says since my phone can't read sim card, it must be a hardware problem. Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions?
My note 20 ultra is still going strong. Although I disliked the fact Samsung discontinued the note line-up and support for it. Why did they discontinued the note in the first place? I think, my opinion, the S-Series sales didn't do as great as the note - since it was their flagship? So they decided to add the note features on the S - line-up. I'm considering upgrading to the S24 ultra mainly because of the software updates.
This happened to the s20 +after an update. It was a big deal in India in Samsung had you extend their warranty even the people that were out of warranty
I've had it with Samsung my phone is practically none functional like it has a virus. I can't connect to my truck anymore! Software errors this is the last straw for me these updates are killers! A galaxy s ultra is STILL not a NOTE phone. Rather have the s ultra w/ BUILT IN S-PEN, but the underlying phone not a note. The 1 thing anyone can do to improve upon this, get rid of curved display, as dumb idea from day one of note 6 or 7 believe. Having flat display makes screen protectors, GLASS to boot, actually work and also make the display easier to read, navigate, and down right use!
That's wild. Seen this already but I still did the update today because they finally did something about the battery drain the phone has had for yearssss. This updates most important function is the battery drain issue being worked on for the first time in a long time. I still haven't done my comparisons, as I'm on day one, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on the battery.
Yeah but it's you have to make the best out of it remember the apps in the play store will get updates plus you can add android 13,14,15,16 launches on your devices to give you that look and feel of the latest. So it's not all bad at the end of the day. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it
June 26th my note 20 ultras display completely went out. Took 3 days to get my replacement device up and running mostly. Smartswitch fails if I can't click on screen. They replaced phone not my screen itself.
There are a lot of people also with the S Pen problems on note 10+ and Samsung never did anything to fix it. People pay that much money on their phones and they dont care. I dont know if we can trust Samsung anymore. I tought at first its my S Pen then I found a lot of people with the same problem. Note 10 light works better then note 10+ and has not this problems, now I am scarred to buy a "note"(new ultra) phones.
My a51 screen started flickering after the android 13 update but it eased down with the one UI 5.1 update..still flickers but only from time to time now
i am experiencing now with my Note 20 Ultra 5G about the display issue, mine is tottaly black, no display at all, Yesterday i went to the Samsung Customer Service here in Rome Italy and they want to charge me 250 euros to change the display screen, i hope samsung will find ways to resolved this issue. This is not recently received info. This has been known for years. They only had 3 years of support until the s21 series came out. But the lines are weird.

I just had an update this morning (August 11). Now, all of a sudden, I get an error message saying the firmware update is not complete. It's retried 4 times already to no avail. Seems like they may be trying to push people towards trade-ins.

My V60 is up to date, TMobile Android 13. To be on the safe side, I swapped and shopped a few used phones a little newer than the V60. I ended up really liking the Google Pixel 6 Pro I bought for $265 in January. Today, TMobile gave me $500 credit for my Pixel 6 Pro, and I got the Pixel 7 Pro, which is on sale for $700. So I paid tax and $200 for a brand new Pixel 7 Pro. I love it! So out the door, I got my Google Pixel 7 for $249 plus a $35 transfer fee. No change of my plan and no extra lines to commit to. Must be a good phone because my TMobile store is a big one and I got the last Google Pixel 7 Pro in stock. I usually buy used phones. I'm not rich. But I have been an LG V series fanatic for 7 years, but my V60 days will run short at some point, so while I still use it everyday, I use my Pixel also. I have 2 lines so each phone has a sim card. I wish LG would come back. I'd start using them again!
My 20+ Ultra died out of the blue and someone else with the same phone had the same issue - all within the past two weeks. He had the screen issue you showed but my phone simply died. I went back to my Note 9 and I've been using it. Going to T-Mobile today to talk to them - this phone is only 2 years old.
I have an android note 20 ultra, me personally? I plan to downgrade my firmware if possible back to android 10, or if possible install custom firmware if available. custom firmware usually would prevent over the air update to go thru to phones using modified firmware.

No reason why Android can’t update devices like Apple does w/ OS support. This is MOST FRUSTRATING for NDRPID USERS IMO, that after 2 yrs, NO MORE-UPDATES AND THAT ALSO TRICKLES TO APPS, no apps working cuz MUST UPDATE, means….not using that app and the end is near for forcing to buy new phone. It’s stupid b/c if s20 can run oneui 6/android 14……note 20 ultra 512GB with 1TB microSD can handle the update imo and the phone should!

My one plus nord 300, the battery dies 2 hours faster with location always on. But I've never had this issue with a Samsung or a iPhone. Have you ever had this issue?
Only thing wrong with my note20ultra is that I can't get 5g on mine. Which sucks cause xfinity claims im on 5g with them and my phone Is 5g compatible cause I have the 990 processor not the snapdragon so I know my phone shld get 5g but in my network settings only option I can choose is VOLTE CALLS FOR SIM 1. I have the note 20 ultra for 3 years i bought it since the release date so its been 3 years since i bought it and it has a very large battery drain like i use it for 5 hours non-stop and it goes from 100 to 0 plus sometimes when its on some greenline appears and then disapears i updated the last update one ui 5.1 and june 2023 update but idk what wrong?but the good thing is that the cameras are very good and super fast charging is very super fast and phone is smoothly so idk if i should change my note 20 ultra to s22 ultra ?

Mine works normal I got two exynos and Qualcomm both 256gb and 12gb ram no problems yet

So it was working great, the phone updated, the phone hasn’t worked since then. Now it has the screen flickering going on as well. We’ve switched to iPhone now and look forward to great customer service from them. Sorry Samsung but you’ve let us down one too many times!

@TheTechPreacher yup they got rid of camera assistant for no reason and battery life is extremely bad. I use to get 8-10 hours of SoT, now it's about half of that even with a brand new Samsung battery installed.

I got my note 20 ultra in January 2021 on a 3 year contract. So, it runs out January 2024. I have no had a single problem with my device. I have run out of space for my movies, but just delete old ones and live without a massive film collection. I mean it hasn't so much as frozen once. It just works everytime, all the time. I literally use it as a WiFi device for my house as I have unlimited data, and I get 5g in my home. So I set the mobile hotshot on and run my xbox and laptop from it. I use around 200gig of data a month sometimes alot more. The phone just doesn't know the meaning of "can't do that" or "doesn't compute." The thing is a god damb tank when it comes to software, and also its built like a tank too. I've dropped it down staircases, out of car windows while driving, and I use the flashlight as a nightlight every single night. The phone is all and more I could ask for.

Samsung says, they charge for replacing the screen. And Samsung do not have any issues on the Samsung Note 20u. Heat your display with a hairdryer for 2-5 minutes and then turn on the phone, it should work for me, it did.

Note 20 Ultra is still surprisingly expensive for a phone of its age, I'd strongly recommend to go for the S21 Ultra/S22 Ultra, the price is practically the same but they win with the Note 20 Ultra in every way possible
Damn it's a shame these issues are happening with such a powerful last of it's kind (SD card support/headphone jack) device. Unfortunate also that it's no longer receiving major updates.

I updated my Note 20 Ultra and now my phone is useless! It says "Phone is not registered on a network. Emergency calls only." My carrier says my phone is not reading my sim card. My sim card works in another phone. Samsung customer service said do a network reset. That didn't work. My carrier (Cricket wireless) says since my phone can't read sim card, it must be a hardware problem. Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions?

My note 20 ultra is still going strong. Although I disliked the fact Samsung discontinued the note line-up and support for it. Why did they discontinued the note in the first place? I think, my opinion, the S-Series sales didn't do as great as the note - since it was their flagship? So they decided to add the note features on the S - line-up. I'm considering upgrading to the S24 ultra mainly because of the software updates.

A galaxy s ultra is STILL not a NOTE phone. Rather have the s ultra w/ BUILT IN S-PEN, but the underlying phone not a note. The 1 thing anyone can do to improve upon this, get rid of curved display, as dumb idea from day one of note 6 or 7 believe. Having flat display makes screen protectors, GLASS to boot, actually work and also make the display easier to read, navigate, and down right use!

This updates most important function is the battery drain issue being worked on for the first time in a long time. I still haven't done my comparisons, as I'm on day one, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on the battery.

June 26th my note 20 ultras display completely went out. Took 3 days to get my replacement device up and running mostly. Smartswitch fails if I can't click on screen. They replaced phone not my screen itself.

There are a lot of people also with the S Pen problems on note 10+ and Samsung never did anything to fix it. People pay that much money on their phones and they dont care. I dont know if we can trust Samsung anymore. I tought at first its my S Pen then I found a lot of people with the same problem. Note 10 light works better then note 10+ and has not this problems, now I am scarred to buy a "note"(new ultra) phones.
My a51 screen started flickering after the android 13 update but it eased down with the one UI 5.1 update..still flickers but only from time to time now

I just had an update this morning (August 11). Now, all of a sudden, I get an error message saying the firmware update is not complete. It's retried 4 times already to no avail. Seems like they may be trying to push people towards trade-ins.

My V60 is up to date, TMobile Android 13. To be on the safe side, I swapped and shopped a few used phones a little newer than the V60. I ended up really liking the Google Pixel 6 Pro I bought for $265 in January. Today, TMobile gave me $500 credit for my Pixel 6 Pro, and I got the Pixel 7 Pro, which is on sale for $700. So I paid tax and $200 for a brand new Pixel 7 Pro. I love it! So out the door, I got my Google Pixel 7 for $249 plus a $35 transfer fee. No change of my plan and no extra lines to commit to. Must be a good phone because my TMobile store is a big one and I got the last Google Pixel 7 Pro in stock. I usually buy used phones. I'm not rich. But I have been an LG V series fanatic for 7 years, but my V60 days will run short at some point, so while I still use it everyday, I use my Pixel also. I have 2 lines so each phone has a sim card. I wish LG would come back. I'd start using them again!

My 20+ Ultra died out of the blue and someone else with the same phone had the same issue - all within the past two weeks. He had the screen issue you showed but my phone simply died. I went back to my Note 9 and I've been using it. Going to T-Mobile today to talk to them - this phone is only 2 years old.

I have an android note 20 ultra, me personally? I plan to downgrade my firmware if possible back to android 10, or if possible install custom firmware if available. custom firmware usually would prevent over the air update to go thru to phones using modified firmware.

This is MOST FRUSTRATING for NDRPID USERS IMO, that after 2 yrs, NO MORE-UPDATES AND THAT ALSO TRICKLES TO APPS, no apps working cuz MUST UPDATE, means….not using that app and the end is near for forcing to buy new phone. It’s stupid b/c if s20 can run oneui 6/android 14……note 20 ultra 512GB with 1TB microSD can handle the update imo and the phone should!

Which sucks cause xfinity claims im on 5g with them and my phone Is 5g compatible cause I have the 990 processor not the snapdragon so I know my phone shld get 5g but in my network settings only option I can choose is VOLTE CALLS FOR SIM 1. Any help wld be appreciated

I have the note 20 ultra for 3 years i bought it since the release date so its been 3 years since i bought it and it has a very large battery drain like i use it for 5 hours non-stop and it goes from 100 to 0 plus sometimes when its on some greenline appears and then disapears i updated the last update one ui 5.1 and june 2023 update but idk what wrong?but the good thing is that the cameras are very good and super fast charging is very super fast and phone is smoothly so idk if i should change my note 20 ultra to s22 ultra ?
Try factory reset and see if the battery gets better you may have a bad app running
