- During Vista Chino's latest North American run, we caught up with bassist Mike Dean of Corrosion of Conformity who was enjoying himself on tour with the revitalized Kyuss lineup. He reflected on how playing in Vista Chino differs from COC, adding that he gets to "play some Nick Oliveri-isms, and some Scott Reeder-isms. You have to go to school a bit and convey the records in an original way."

I would have loved to see Mike Dean as Metallica's bassist after Cliff Burton died - always thought Mike was a really creative bassist and I think his energy could have been great with them coming off of Master of Puppets. Also, he likes cats, so he has to be a good guy :)
