    Great video, just one question. Why would you want to run e85? I just don't understand stand why people are doing it. If I understood the benefits maybe I would go for it.

      E85 is 85% ethanol, which is an alcohol. Alcohol absorbs heat/energy during vaporization so it rapidly cools cylinder temps as well as being more resistant to detonation. E85 is typically 104-ish octane, which means you can run more boost, more timing, etc. and make more power than gasoline. The downside is it's less energy dense, so you need around 30% more fuel to achieve the same energy output as gasoline. So while it doesn't burn "faster" you need more of it, making you go through it faster. But it's cheaper than 93 is per gallon, so you save money as well running E85, but you refuel more often. Typically you can expect to see a 30HP gain on E85 over 93

    Nice. I’ve had my kit since Christmas and haven’t gotten around to installing it🤦🏻‍♂️.
    Question on the flame tune, is that going to be available with the ghost cam tune or will they need to be separate?

    • @badnewsracing
      @badnewsracing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You'll be able to combine them

      @@badnewsracing when will it be available? I’m more motivated to get the flex kit on and the 52#s installed.

      Before Black Friday ideally. We just don't want to put it out too early and it not be perfect.

      What’s the most power someone has gotten out of one of these? Very curious 👀

      @@williamcumbee883 Overall, like 400+ HP. With a hybrid turbo / big wheel turbo like 275whp

    Can install & wire up a flex sensor in my 13 sonic 1.8 without a tune? My fuse box & ecu has a labled Flex fuel location?. Can i just run the flex sensor signal & wire it to the ecu & go?

    • @badnewsracing
      @badnewsracing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, you need tuning to activate the sensor. We can do it at BNR. You'll need bigger injectors to go above around 20% ethanol

    • @satchmo-k24
      @satchmo-k24 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @badnewsracing it's just a work car, I'm not using it to attain more power. I'm sure the injectors will be sufficient for a work car putting around. I want it as a fuel option. So would I just send my ecu too Bnr and yall could active the ethanol tables?

      @badnewsracing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’d still need injectors, even stock power level they were maxing out at like e20. They’re just super small. I don’t know of any viable upgrade injector either at the moment. I think someone said our 52s fit but not sure if any modification needed to be made

      Unless you’re just going part throttle. Then it’s fine. As long as you don’t go wide open. But then when you do go wide open to pass someone or something they’ll max out and the motor will lean out. Maybe BNR fpcm will make it work, never tried that
