My ZZP mid/down pipe is on the way. Cant wait to install it and this video helped. Thanks. Hope it sounds good with the Trubendz/Magnaflow muffler I have on the car now. 😎
Do yall know if I could purchase the zzp downpipe now. And then when I'm ready to work on my car again purchase zzp catback exhaust will it hook right up to my down pipe. Soo downpipe back exhaust lol
Great job awesome instruction i know the videos a year old but I just came across it looking to do the same thing so thank you very much great information
I have to say you’re a lucky man you must have a low mileage car I’m working on one with 150,000+ on it and everyone of these bolts that you’re talking about are so easy are completely rusted and broken on the ends I wish mine was this easy
Honestly, anyone working on any of the 1.4l turbo's should just invest in a cheap e-torx socket set. You will need them and wont round off your fastners that way.
I'm writing to TRIFECTA now. I bought the lifetime tune a few years ago when i purchased the cat-back and the intake from zzp first. It was a little less expensive but now that I've saved up enough and already BOUGHT the downpipe package. I wonder if I should just keep the original pieces for inspection time. I'll be highly disappointed if they can't tune it to not throw a cell.
Alex they will send you instructions on how to turn the cell light off it quite easy. I will probably do a video on it soon showing how to turn the engine light off for certain cells that pop up.

Great instructional video. I am looking to get the catless downpipe soon and wanted to see how the install was. I have to pass emissions testing in TX, think taking one Cat away may increase emissions too much?
Thanks 👍 When it comes to emissions I'm not quite sure of a good answer for you as we don't have emissions checks in MI so don't want to give you the wrong information and it gets you to fail the testing.
I passed. Don't know if it's state wide but my testing site doesn't use a sniffer or visual inspection, they just hook a scanner to it. No P0420 code ya pass, I guess.
Not sure about the Flvv, as for gas milage it's not that bad really I was still getting 32mpg on the highway which isn't bad for an Auto. Now I'm Full E85 and average about 385-400 miles per tank.
I know this is old but do you need a tune for the blow off valve (vta) and if so what might that be was interested in getting one i want the full turbo experience !
@@Dickie0515 I know your comment is a year old but I’m curious why you don’t need a tune on an auto but do on a manual. I’m looking at getting this atmospheric bypass valve and my cruze is an auto. I just want to be 100% sure I can buy this and put it on without needing a tune

Question .. what kind of resonator is on your car ? Factory or aftermarket? And did you notice a difference in sound with this resistor as it doesn't look factory... very interested in what kind this is .. thank you have a great day ... subscribing now 👍
Thanks for watching the video 👍🏼 That is actually the stock resonator I'm not sure if it's different on a 2014 model like mine. I did notice better power and better sound compared to the stock setup.
@@1972lesteryan so you were able to keep the check engine light off with this setup? I was thinking of running the high flow catted midpipe from ZZP so I don't get a check engine light.
Awesome Video. I'm actually replacing my turbo here in the next few weeks because the waste gate is starting to bind, and the ole blast it with deep creep to loosen it up only lasts me a day or two now. This video is great to know the socket sizes so I'm not playing guessing games. Edit: I should mention I'm also replacing the Cat since I have about 80k and i might as well if I'm replacing the turbo. By chance could you elaborate on what bolt was loose on your transmission causing a leak and whether you know its common? I noticed my transmission is slowly loosing fluid. Not enough to drip but the underside of it is wet.
Thanks for the good words Evan! It's hard to explain which bolt it was but it's a torx bolt close to the engine oil pan up in a hole, the reason it was leaking wasn't really caused by the bolt being loose as there is no fluid in that area but it was from the seal that the torque converter shaft goes into was losing its conditioning and shrinking a hair allowing fluid to pass by (very little) so replacing the trans fluid with Valvoline Max Life ATF with seal conditioner did the trick of reconditioning the seal which stopped it from leaking into that void between the engine and transmission.
Why did you not buy new exhaust gaskets??? They arent meant to be reused. If you're bent on using the old gaskets, at least slather them in anti seize to help seal up any small gaps...
The stock gaskets worked perfectly with no leaks! I eventually replaced the Mid Pipe gasket where the exhaust connects because my exhaust came with a new one, besides that the stock gaskets are still holding up great with no leaks!
Lmfao with the stock muffler its not going to sound like a world of difference 😂 now that I'm running 3" Exhaust after the midpipe it's a hell of a lot better 👍🏼
Thanks for the vid. Seems straight forward. I just have to get over the fear of the car coming down on me while i'm under it.

Would these fit a 2017 Buick Encore with the 1.4 turbo??
Did you disconnect the battery before unplugging the O2 sensor?
Yes.
what size bolts did you use?
Do you think keep the stock down pipe wpild sound good still ?
Which o2 sensor would I have to modify to keep the CEL off? And would I need a regular bung extender or an angled one?
You need to install spark plug defalers on the down stream o2 sensor. There are videos on youtube.

If you go catless will you for sure need to buy a tuning kit?
No, just get spark plug defoulers or an 02 extension for the downstream 02 sensor and you'll be good to go, no CEL.
Will an extra resonator fit behind the oem resonator to make it quieter?
Unless the resonator is really short there isn't enough room for a regular size one.

Can I do that and a chery boom (glass pipe,? And what inches be best 2?
You can do whatever you like. Are you going to remove the resonator and muffler too?
