Hey could you tell me how you got that background? it's really cool.
do you know how to find and access the saved files? i recently got xbox game pass beta and was playing cities skylines and i decided to buy the game off of steam so i could use the mods off of steam for the game. one of the maps i was playing on the xbox version is an identical map as on steam, so the saved file should work if i copy and paste it to the steam version of the games saved directory. i can easily find the steam version but cannot for the life of me find the xbox version.
i opened up WindowsApps, navigated around there. opened WpSystem (which both has folders for the game, but does not have the saved files), i don't think it would be saved on a cloud either because the game allows offline saves. so........shouldn't there be a physical save folder somewhere on the hard drive? i've scoured the internet and cannot find the answer to that.
The fact that I needed to watch this video is ridiculous. Thank you.

Finally managed to move starfield to my 4tb ssd, I had so little space on my C drive windows was chugging. Thankyou!! Valid as of 27th August 2023 (Windows 10).
REALLY IMPORTANT
you need to make sure the sd card/external drive you're moving apps to or installing apps on is formatted as an NFTS file system. Some of them default to a exFAT. To change, go to file explorer > this pc > right click on external drive > format > select NFTS from dropdown menu under heading 'File system' > select 4096 from dropdown under 'allocation unit size' > start
this will delete everything on your external drive, so make a back up before you do this!

In honesty i think it was doing drive writes, and not actual download. To get 300mb/s the guy would need a ISP first off that is faster then 2.5g/s which not many fiber connections even allows, and also requires a 10gb/e nic + switch + modem, which i do not think he has either so he is obviously trolling us, because if he was anywhere near a competent techie, he would of known this.
Try Brazil with most places just on 1.5Mb/s xD

Thanks for the full breakdown. I'm glad someone like you has more patience than I do with dealing with stuff like this, because the incompetence of a company as big as Microsoft is absolutely ASTOUNDING. How is the store THIS BAD and convoluted? Did the software developers even test the store after they made it? All I wanted to find out was which drive my Xbox games were saved to, and the solution was to search 'storage' and use an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT APP just to see where it was saved. Bizarrely, it displayed which drive my recently installed games were at a glace but not the older ones. Unbelievably bad. Shocking.

Thanks pal. Windows tells me I can choose to which partition I can install my apps, but I could select any one except D: so I changed default from C: to D: like you have explained in your video and I tried installing the app again. It worked, so I re-selected C: as the default option.

I don't know if it still works, but there used to be a trick on Xbox one where if you turn on "my home Xbox" and sign into your friends account and then delete the account from your Xbox, they will have licenses to all the games you have on their Xbox

No matter what drive i select it just simply auto installs it to the C drive?
When I try to download something from the Xbox app on PC it doesn't show an option to change the install to my external hardrive, even if I got into settings and set the external hardrive as the default it still tries to install it to my internal drive

Thanks for your video. When I first began my journey with the Xbox PC pass I was installing games without any problems. I am now having problems with installing games on PC with Xbox game pass. When I go to install any game the install button just bounces back to start and nothing happens. I read somewhere that I should remove game from my list and try to install again but having trouble working out how this is done. I tried uninstalling the app to correct but this does not change anything. Any ideas to resolve this issue.
You are a literal lifesaver i couldn't find a mention of this anywhere in Microsoft conforms
If this does not work due to something along the lines of there are apps from a previous device, follow these steps. Worked for me
1. press windows key + R
2. type 'msconfig' and enter
3. go 'boot' (on the top of the new window)
4. press 'safe mode' and 'network'
5. press apply then okay (it should ask to restart the PC, press yes to restart)
6. once you have signed in in safe mode, go to your drive that you want to download apps etc. too and find the 'WindowsApps' folder
7. change the name of the folder to 'WindowsApps.old'
8. type 'msconfig' yet again, go to 'boot' untick safe boot, press apply, then ok, then restart the PC like before
9. go to settings, storage settings, change where new content is saved, change 'New apps will save to' to which ever drive you want new apps to download too, press apply.
Finished!
I hope it works, if not, try contacting microsoft support.

Man, I am looking high and low for any information. Wouldn't you know it there is ANY WAY i can "locate downloaded game" from the store (through game pass) without having to f***ng download all the 60Gb all over again?

launch the game, then look in task manager for the process. Right click the process and open the file location

Do you know if there’s a way to use your desktop as an external hard drive for Xbox one? External hard drives are so expensive especially 2t and up. Was just thinking if I could somehow just use my 2t pc for storage?

i am assuming the latest download of the beta dont have these options you are showing. when i click on my picture on the top right it just shows my email address. when i click on the three dots i choose setting and there is NO change drive install destination??? thx

I would like to know how you get your store to download so fast. For me, it downloads with about 5 to 10% of my bandwidth...
You can get normal username (not eposv but eposvox ) account if you sign in after setting up the first startup questions :)

Ho do i add games back into Game Pass on my PC that are already installed on another HDD ? I reimaged my PC and of course now Xbox game pass wants to download them again even though the games on aonther drive .... Annoying to say the least
