    Hey 606X, just had a quick question about your intake ramp.
    Have you had any problems with it not getting under the lip of the disc or hitting the ground?
    Also what material do y’all use for the ramp? Is it just polycarbonate?
    Thanks, and good robot!

    • @606X
      @606X  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did have the problem of the ramp being too high up, however we just zip tied the ramp to be lower to the ground. It is illustrated in the video
      We use delrin for the intake ramp. It's sanded with 1,000 grit sandpaper to make it smoother

    How does this bot get around the plastic rules or none vex component rules. The side and catapult tower that you have custom laser cut appear to be plastic or none vex metals. If we are restricted with 24"x12" of plastic under .7in in thickness how does this pass inspection? We are running into problems with trying to get approved items like this on our bot, but are being told it will not pass inspection.

    • @606X
      @606X  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      our plastic on the sides and back of the robot is decorational, meaning it does not serve a functional purpose.
      this means that it does not count towards the 12x24" limit.

    Your disc grouping is bad due to the zip tie flap y’all use, get rid of it and instead use two small flaps on opposing sides to where it only hits the discs from coming back and not while shooting

    • @yimingzhu
      @yimingzhu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The grouping is bad because of the geometry of the catapult, we’ve tested the cata without the zip tie and the grouping is about the same. Which means that the grouping could be fixed by tuning cata resting angle and the hard stop. Our cata actually goes pass the ziptie and the zip tie will go under before the discs get launched. Also we have been using the same elastic tubes for over 2 months and that might be why, we will be replacing it before the last comp that this bot goes to.
