Sooooooo I got this doll from my cousin and I put pants on it, the ink from the pants stained it, I tried toothpaste, magic eraser, baking soda and water, soap and water, 70% benzoyl peroxide, and gasoline for cleaning, what should I do?

I’ve got the original Emily from the American girl collection, Molly’s best friend, and I had a dress on her, and the same thing happened, except her arms got stained from a dress. I tried every trick in the book and nothing worked. I might have to send her to the AG hospital to get her fixed. I’d recommended that at this point if you haven’t gotten it fixed

@@mariepotter8921 unfortunately the doll hospital won’t remove the stains. They will only replace the limbs. We sent in a very loved Bitty Baby who got stained from the dyes in clothing. They sent her back and said they are unable to remove doll stains. But offered to replace her head, and limbs etc. However, then it’s no longer the same doll my daughter loved, so we said no.

Really helpful. Just bought a vintage Baby Sasha for my granddaughter. The doll has got 5 biro dot marks, (3
on her face)and as she is mid tanned and not a blonde blue eyed doll I was worried about any lasting damage from UK equivalent 'Clearasil'. Worried no longer and will use Magic sponge to clean her with!!!😊many thanks!!!!

Our sunny days have been few and far between. Can I use a lamp for indoor treatments?

    • @SuperEzzle

I use a lamp and it works fine. You just have to be careful that you don't get it too close and start a fire. I usually leave it under a lamp for 3 hours. I haven't tried the cling wrap but it looks good.

Hi! I need some advice. I bought a TLC doll on ebay, and she's COVERED in blue sharpie. I thought it was just washable marker, but no... It's sharpie. I've tried the oxy treatment, and it's starting to fade a bit, but is there another way to get rid of it all quicker? To be more specific, it's all over the tops of her arms, her hands, in random spots on her face and legs (those aren't as bad as on her arms though), and a little bit on the non-cloth part of the body (the part where her arms and legs connect to it). Thank you!

I don’t know if you still need this, but try rubbing alcohol! Since sharpie is an alcohol based marker and not water based, it should remove the ink :)

I need to deep clean Isabelle's arms as she wore an offending short sleeved velvet leotard for over 2 weeks and it left black marks on her arms. I tried magic eraser with little luck. Problem though. It's almost winter here and the sun rarely comes out. Do you think it would help to place her near the laundry dryer area while it's being used and when it's not to use an electric heater in a small area that can be closed off? Also, her cloth body picked up some of the black. I tried using a lint brush over it in case it was simply black dust. It's not bad. The only reason I noticed it is because where the body tag lay, beneath it you can see where it's lighter. I just don't want any future clothing to take some black with it. Thank you!

+CraftsAdore Thank you. I would not put her close to the heater. Alright. I will try a window but it's chilly in my studio even though we have heat in our home. And I don't wish to leave her out in the warmer area where the cats live. No it was not an AG leotard. It is one I had made by a company that makes leotards for a dance studio. I am going to let them know about the black. I'm going to wash the leotard and hopefully that will make it wearable. But wait. I remember you had a problem with a coronation gown. Ana or Elsa's. I thought it was you, anyway??

Thank you for all the great videos on dolls. Do you have any suggestions for getting perfume out of the vinyl parts? I have purchased a beautiful used AG doll, but the fragrance gives me a headache. I took her apart and tried soaking her limbs in H2O2 and also in activated charcoal and zeolite and bentonite (for a week) - none of those have worked. People always recommend vinegar and baking soda (for nearly everything) but they don't get fragrance molecules out of plastics. I'm wondering if the heat treatment you recommend for activating the benzyol peroxide might accelerate zeolite or charcoal or other substance to remove the fragrance or even if heat alone might somehow "open the pores" of the vinyl so the fragrance molecules can escape. Any advice from you is appreciated!

I have a doll that is about 50 years old and kept in a smoking environment. She has black arms from the elbows down. Don't know how to lighten them back up. Does not come off with dawn and water. Anybody that can help?

@@kerir6016 no I didn't, but I didn't try the toothpaste yet. She smells so much like smoke from being in the other house so long. Someone told me I will never get that smell off of her. So said cause I never got to play with her when I was small, my folks put her away so I wouldn't ruin her. Now she is ruined anyway. I have had her in the family for 60 years.

@@fredsanford5871 This is going to sound nutty but I hope it help's you out. As for her smell get some kitty litter have the doll immersed in it for a week then take the doll out & wrap the doll in dryer sheet's for a couple of day's. As for cleaning the doll. If the doll is vinyl. I've found a few method's that have worked for me: 1. Put 90% rubbing alcohol on a magic eraser then gently scrub down on the arm's, leg's where ever there's a mark's, spot's etc. It work's extremely well. 2. If it's marker use nail polish with acetone & q-tips to remove the marker stain off hard vinyl doll. 3. If the doll is soft vinyl like silicone vinyl use hand sanitizer with q-tips to remove marker's. 4. If the face is a soft vinyl a tide to go stick with q-tips will work to clean the face. 5. Benzoyl peroxide 10% work's removing mark's off vinyl as well & you can wrap whatever part of the doll in cling wrap with benzoyl peroxide on the affected area & put the doll under a lamp for 15 hours a day & that will work to remove marks as well. ✌
Hope the above info helps you out~ ✌👍
