    Such cute characters! I love Honey. I guess our associations with colors are a little different. Yellow is more of a happy bubbly color to me and sky blues are more of a calm. But I think everyone just interprets colors differently. Super cute characters though ❤️

    The numbers and colour association thing is called synaesthesia. I have it, too!
    For me, 1=black, 2=blue, 3=red, 4=yellow-orange, 5=purple, 6=yellow, 7=green, 8=magenta, 9=orange. I get it with letters as well.
    A=yellow, B=red, C=light blue, D=purple, E=orange, F=dark green, G=light green, H=lilac-grey, I=black, J=dark red, K=light pink, L=pink, M=pinky-purple, N=a slightly bluer purple than M, O=white, P=yellow=orange, Q=light yellow, R=kind of an earthy green and a bit brown, S=yellow, T=blue, U= pink, V=gold, W=light green, X=light pink, Y=yellow orange, Z=pale green.
    I sometimes get it with music although that's fading now, unfortunately. I'd see different colours for different keys. I sometimes get the one where you can feel what other people feel as well like when they physically touch something or get hurt. Rhett and Link have a good video on it. I used to get the one where you can taste words as well, but I haven't had that in at least a few months. I've heard it's more common in creative people because of the way our brains connect subjects. More than one of our senses responds to one thing. Some people can hear smells but I've never been able to do that. I think that would be a bit scary tbh lol

    This is a well done video, but you really shouldn't have a character's design reflect their personality, in my honest opinion. It's like judging a book by it's cover and way too many people see other's differently because of the way they look.

    Things glow for attention. Minks are carnivores. What animals would be attracted to it's glow? How does it protect against attracting predators with it's glow? Maybe the glow is a side effect of a heating element of the fur? Maybe it heats up to melt tunnels in the glacier.

    About palette:
    My recommendation is to look at a basic color wheel, you know with different shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. It's best if you use a light color to emphasize what you want the viewer to see first on the character's body. If you want to make a goth character or an introvert, try using darker colors, but DO NOT use too much black. I've seen Gacha videos, and a lot of the noobs tend to make a character that's either emo or not really wanting attention wear so much black that they look like an oil spill or nothing but black. You can use color to determine personality to get the audience to understand the character though I recommend not being culturally biased towards Western Culture (sorry not sorry, Ancient Greece), OR you could surprise the audience a little bit.
    The tricky part is deciding what colors you want to use for the character base. Again, the color wheel has shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. However, you can use colors that aren't on the color wheel, such as indigo. There are 16,581,375 colors in the world, and some colors may look better with others. What a lot of inexperienced artists on Deviantart would do is make a color palette made up of twelve colors. Please don't. Using a dozen random colors isn't gonna make the character's personality more complex. With this in mind, NEVER make a character using only one character (unless they're an antrhopomorphic inanimate object). Using two or three simple base colors, such as yellow or red, is good is you want to create a cuter character. Using four or five colors or a unique shade of a color would be good if you want your character to look simple but attractive. Using six or seven colors neon colors is when you need to be careful as it can completely ruin the design and make the viewer's eyes uncomfortable if not done correctly. Use whatever colors you want, but try to use as few as possible and make sure they make sense.

    Honey Bee reminds me of GinganinjaOwO because of the skin tone, obvious blush, and that shade of hair. I love how different each of these three are though, and thanks for all the tips. I don’t like to give my characters specific shapes, I get why I SHOULD do it but in most of my stories I focus on the fact that we’re all humans with reason, it’s very different to the point where it’s the same. Idk I like to play around with that. And also not to judge a book of its cover.

    I really liked Honey (don't know if it's spelled that way) and I noticed something,this is kind of an argument with myself over the internet.
    At the end she had all those pop colors and reminded me of a typical fictional hippie because of her clothes (not that it's bad,just observing) and it reminded me that she's a fictional character.What I'm thinking is that she looks a lot more fictional because it's REALLY rare to see people like her irl,and that spread to the other two characters,it's not a bad thing at all and I love that type of character design.The only reason I'm saying this is that it really brought me out of the immersion and made me see her as just a character which I didn't before,but I'm sure that if I see her moving around and speaking (not literary,like in a comic or something) it'll be different.
    I don't want to sound self-absorbed,that's why I said it's an argument with myself.I know that this is a style of design in general and I enjoy it a lot even if I personally prefer more realistic and casual settings,that's why my characters are pretty normal looking and kinda boring at first sight.
    But yeah,this was just an observation.And for the video itself it helped me out a lot!I already have a color associated with every character and have heard about shapes in character design,but I've always left it aside since others' examples were very cartoony and that's the opposite of the style I'm going for,and this showed me a way to use shapes in more realistic character designs so thank you!
    Sorry for the long comment!

    ... My mentor use to tell me that I draw with an empty mind or that I am lazy drawing sometimes... I did not truly understand what that meant... And when I look at your work, I kinda understand more now. You thought everything through, which I don't. I just let my mind do the imagination work without thinking this through. So thanks for sharing your work and teaching me that shapes must be worked on.
