I love how they deleted the extra video that they accidentally uploaded, while i was the middle of watching it. I wanted to know more about that $460 gaming setup :(
HP prodesks are great, so much more room than an Optiplex. I just got one with an i5 8500 for $80 bucks last week, even just a gtx 950 has done very well with retail World of Warcraft.
I use those plug in PCI-e wifi/blue tooth cards that are sold on Amazon. They are a real M.2 wifi card that can be upgraded easily later on if you want, changed one from a 5 to a wifi 6E just the other day. They work really well. That offset NVME mounting is pretty previlent with slightly newer sff office PC's, kinda surprised to see one on a bigger case.
I believe you can upgrade this PC with a HP power supply out of a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop. The infamous acid green ones. They have the proprietary crappy HP 12VO connections as well as a 6+2 PCIE connector and are 400watt 80+gold. Amazon was selling off brand ones for like $60 bucks. So there is that option.
I think the old RTX A2000 6gb variant would be a pretty decent GPU for this build if you can score one at a decent price point. Would pair nicely with the i7.
So, are HP power supplies proprietary and non-swappable? This is intriguing for the price but not something if the GPU can't be upgraded because the PS can't be upgraded. ☹
I got this same pc but ryzen 5 version for 125 on ebay lol, 16 gigs of ram. I swapped the cpu into a B-450 and used the ram and ssd it came with then slapped a 1080ti and I play anything and saved so much money
My TV PC is a HP Pavilion 590C which is basically the home user version of that desktop. It came with the exact same RX550 card. I replaced it with an RX6400 Runs well. The only difference was the cpu. Its an i5 8400. Current AA games I have to run at 1080p low details, with FSR but I haven't found a game that wouldn't at least do 30fps. I play way more emulation than anything else on that PC.
Recently bought a used like NEW Pavillion from fb marketplace for just $180 U.S, ryzen 5600g, rx 5500, 256gb ssd nvme, 400 wat 80+ gold, not too bad I'd say for under 200.
The two big questions when it comes to an upgrade is whether the motherboard connections from the PSU ate standard (allowing a PSU upgrade) and whether the case side panel would go back on without the massive drive cage, as it would stop most GPUs from fitting. Would have been nice to see an GPU upgrade to show what the i7 was capable of.
I'm wondering the same thing. I have a pretty good GPU already, not great, but a definite upgrade from this one and would want to know if it can take a PSU upgrade.
I had one, you have to get a psu from HP and there like 90 bucks. On these older pavilions the only way to get a psu these days is to check the used market.
@@ajwalker4416 I would just stay away from HP gaming pcs all together. They are really not that upgradable and the airflow is terrible. On these pcs you can’t even upgrade the motherboard.
Best bang for buck you can get is from building the PC yourself. Really it isn't that hard. Just watch some build guides actually I think toasty bros just did one.
Decent value for the money, could you try an RX 6600 in this? With underclocking, undervolting and a power limit of 70 Watts, you should be able to use it without a power cable, unless it checks for one and won't start without it.
Think this is more of an HTPC but could go for retro gaming. Thing is if you upgrade the GPU, PSU, and ram (should do at minimum the ram), it's okay. That power supply is low wattage.
in Macedonia its a no brainer to save 23 denari (0.07 cents) for a single 16gb ram stick we always put dual channel, sometimes its cheaper to get 2 8gb than 1 16gb
Since the space permited. I probably would have thrown a 1050ti or 1650 myself in there. I recently upgraded an Acer came barebone. I ordered a i5 8500, added a 600 watt psu and threw a 1060 6gb at it. Thinking maybe this cpu could handle up to a 1660 or so.
I recently sold my GTX 970 Phanteks Enthoo Pro case without the see through panel a 4690 non K and a Gigabyte Z97 motherboard with 8GB of HyperX 1600 ram for only $130 locally. Guy got an insane deal. Just the GTX 970 around 6 months ago used was around $80 for the MSI red one. The PCIe 3.0 slot broke but the 2.0 x16 ran the 970 at basically the same as normal. I needed the money bad for a bill RIP and had no vehicle to drive or ship it. I remember the case when I bought it back in 2014 alone was $130 spent $340 on the 970 like $250 for the 4690 and $140 for the motherboard and around $80 for the PSU. I'm a dummy :(
Personally I would never use sata power connectors to run PCIe power on a GPU. You risk burning your house down. So for me I would only use a GPU that runs on the 75 watts from the PCIe slot. Not sure what the options are as I don't normally look at those types of GPUs. Maybe a Rx 6400 would run faster than that Rx 550.
You can get a pretty good experience with this rig using a 2x sata to pci-e 6 pin. To be within the pci-e 6 pin power specs you need 2x sata connectors or 2x molex, it's worth mentioning for the upgrade video on this. maybe try both an intel A380, rx 6600 & something like a gtx 1660 super or non super. Also maybe look at what you would need for upgrading the powersupply, theres usually some adapter cables you can buy that makes a standard powersupply hook up too these oem motherboards, think the powersupply formfactor would be SFX or TFX there.
Hi guys love the videos , I use a Maxsun RX 550 4gb and it runs great aaa titles like moto gp 23 , sniper ghost contracts 2 and breakpoint without much hassal
It's msi afterburner, go to settings, overlay settings. It let's you choose what is displayed on the overlay but keep in mind it is very picky about if the overlay will actually let you toggle it
260 bucks for a beat up used pc, with jacked up thermal paste, bottlenecked parts, and performs worse than a used xbox (which is not only new, but costs up to 30 bucks less). This is not the future of budget gaming
Not to be a hater. But im fairly certain itd be much mote fullfilling to just do your homework and buy all parts used. (Except maybe the power supply). Sure. We invest what, 30 more bucks? You can get a decent cpu+mobo+ram combo for less than 150 bucks, (think am4) and a decent used mining card. Bolt it to the mobo box and save up for a decent case yanno?
why don't you make a video about how much you actually pay for used PCs and components? Show the trade in negotiation with someone looking to sell or trade in a 3 year old PC. Today I bought a fully functional 10900X/x299 system with a gtx 1070 and 32gb of 3600mhz DDR4 in a kieders case for $350. Tomorrow the RTX 2070 Super I paid $100 for is going in it. This is the real used PC pricing market. Not these 5-10 year old office systems for 200-400 dollars.
Buying this prebuilt pc doesn't make any sense to me, by adding 100 more you can get i3 10100f , rx 580 , 450 watt bronze certified psu, better case , dual channel ram with 3200 mhz, a tower cooler for cpu and a better motherboard. I don't know how this pc makes any sense, it feels like a crap 😂.

The low profile 4060 would be perfect for this. It uses as much power as a 1660.

@@hw.lds08ehhh still better than how the 550 limits the i7. Id choose the 4060 any day
@@hw.lds08 great point. I'd say 4060 reaches 85-90% of it's potential. You could always use frame gen to mitigate some of the CPU bottleneck.
