ABOUT HUMANELY KILLING THE LOBSTERS
After seeing everyone's reaction we realize we can and should do better. To be honest this is the way we learned and we never gave it too much tought, it was "just the way everyone does it". But we now realize were badly taught and poorly prepared and that is no one's reflection or responsability but our own.
We can do better, and we will alway aim to be better. That is why we love doing this channel with you guys so we can be constantly improving and challenging ourselves. We're glad to have you guys with us on this learning journey called Sous Vide!
I am always willing to learn and this channel has taught me so much. I will take this to heart and as Maumau said, we were taught this way. But I will do better!!! I thank everyone for their support and you can expect next time it will be done right!
Awesome!
Thanks for being humble and realizing your wrongs and making sure the future is done right!
I love this channel, but this response has given me so much more respect for the SVE team!
The fact that you put science in quotation marks shows exactly how much attention we should pay to your opinion, so thanks for making it easy for us to decide to ignore you.
Totally mature and humble response -- you guys rock -- much respect

_"Maumau, you used to go down like nothing! What happened??"_
"I used to be skinny, now I'm fat. Now I float more."
No. Sous vide happened.
+Black Rabbit 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Should have attached some of those sous vide egg weights to him. ;)
can't wait to see how you catch the steak
That will be AMAZZING...... MAYBE one day. 😂🤣😂
Sous Vide Everything when you catch it yell out PICANHA!!!
Yeah, and MauMau has to do it with flippers on.
Have you seen the Heston Blumenthal Christmas cooking where he has a goose raised on a specific diet that he later cooks?
Now that made me laugh... Twisting a cow in half should be a little more challanging i think... Dont change the way you where taught, I lived on an Island and was taught to kill Dungeonus Crab by taking a shovel, cutting them down the middle from head to tail and spraying out the guts with water and throwing them in boiling water with rock salt... Best Crab you would ever eat...

This is not only about Sous Vide, but friendship and celebration of food. Always put a smile on my face the pure enjoyment of these 3 friends. Thanks for sharing guys!
Thank you for demonstrating the whole process from ocean to table. It's important for those of us who want to learn. More like this please.
Man, this video is happiness visualized. Being able to do stuff like that with people you love is for real what life is about. I wish I had this kinda life
Maumau unquestionably deserves a raise...
Another great video, guys! Love the out-of-office experience. 👍👍👍
😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣
I miss these sve videos. It seemed like it was about you 3 having fun and joking around as much as it was about the food
Good work, MauMau.
50' is nothing to sneeze at without fins or a weight belt.
Especially multiple times. And catch a lobst while down there.
Kudos to you, man.
And obviously to Guga for cooking that delicious looking meal.
You guys are awesome.
+RustyDust101 yes he did an awesome job
Thanks!
I really love how genuinely happy you guys are about eating, and eating well. Thanks for sharing your joy with all of us.
I mean....I was taught that way too, using the lobster antenna to clean it and everything, I’m Cuban so that could explain that it’s more of a cultural thing
when tapping on this video, i honestly didn’t expect such great quality and camera work!
i absolutely love this, you’ve earned a new subscriber and i’m sure that there are more to come! :D
Obviously long episodes like this take a lot more work, but the presentation was fantastic! Keep the AMAZING content coming!
+Ryan Ristau yes it's work but it's so much fun! Thanks for watching!
Originally from Miami myself, and I used to go down to the Keys with friends every year for Spring Break. Lately, time and age has slowed that a bit, but this video brought back many memories. I also enjoy learning more about the sous vide cooking process, and I think your testing methods are simple, straightforward, and honest. Thanks for shooting this and your other videos, and I do hope recovery from the recent hurricane damage is as swift and painless as possible!
I LOVE THIS :D I love watching you guys chill out going fishing, the drone shots are beautiful and the music works.
Please, more of these kind of videos! Would be great to see you work with chefs and stuff to make super special sous vide food
Thanks I really appreciate that.
agreed teh drone shots were awesome
Absolutely agree , good edits good music pleasure watching along adventure !!
HAHAHAHAHA "He's a living buoy." I wish i had friends like you guys in my life. Keep it up guys.
"You're a professional diver!" .... "I'm also fat" Hahahahahaha. 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣
THat was crazy funny..... 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣
I just died after seeing that lol
Your filming techniques for an “Older Gentleman” (I mean older as in not 20-30) is absolute amazing, the editing is perfect and the shots you get are just brilliant.
Very fun vid! I am a lifelong fisherman (from the Midwest) but used to snorkel while in the Navy. I miss catching the languista and blue crabs off of the seafloor. Let's do more of these guys!!
The catch, clean, cook was great. Road tripping with your buddies is so much fun
+Chrus B it was a lot of fun!
Great footage when seen the sky that must have been scary but look beautiful and the scuba diver saving the day with lobsters fresh Bates to go fishing I like fishing on boat I haven't gone for years thank you for sharing those memories.
One of your best yet.
I am convinced to sous vide some lobster now, but I will be catching them at Costco!
Awesome.. costco has them real. good make sure you take your fins and dont forget them like maumau did.
I love this style of video!! From the field to the plate. Only a true cook knows how to prepare from start to finish.
Dude he could start a while other youtube channel about him going fishing and stuff! His video editing for some reason is just so freakin awesome!
Hi guys ,i am from Slovakia(middle europe) and when i see your videos i start use SOUS Vide .You are total best for me.I hope you make more videos .Best of luck .
It's gotta be said, you guys really are the bomb! Seriously, you genuinely care about your viewers, as well as (obviously) the food; I had no issue seeing the lobsters being prepared.
I look forward to each and every one of your videos and would love to see you do more lobster, or crab videos in the future :)
Many thanks, guys
I really enjoy catch/dispatch/clean/cook videos! Maumau is fitter than he looks. I love the way you prepared the lobster as well, I haven't seen it done this way before (though if I had lobster that fresh, I'd have some of them as sashimi).
I remember sitting on my porch during Harvey and just watching the Storm
U and your family or friends are very fun u bring a smile to my face
Those clouds were AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Great footage!
+Andrew Bell they were amaaaazing you are right!
When he said " A living buoy" I cracked up!!!!!!
Wow this is hands down my favorite video of them all. We need more videos like this man.
Catching and cleaning your own food and cooking it Guga Style. Yes we deff need a lot more videos like this plz 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
AAAMAAZZING video. One of your best videos so far.
It was really exciting hearing you guys chit chat, have fun, and be friends. That's something I really enjoy because it makes me feel like I'm getting to know you guys better and I can be excited for you. The lobster looked awesome and the instructional aspects were very useful.
If you were taught one way, that's no fault of your own. Bringing up your mistakes and trying to be better speaks very highly of your character, and I applaud you for being vocal about that.
One last thing. Personally, I really enjoyed the music and stylistic editing choices for this video. It felt very professional. I have been watching you guys for a very long time and I wanted to let you know you are getting better every day, and us viewers have noticed the hard work you put into these videos.
Cheers!
+Sous Vide Everything
+SVE MauMau
+Aidan Decker wow thank you so much.
Feel gud going back & seeing these old vids
One of the best video in a while guys.. keep it up! Maumau, you ROCK dude!
I sooooo enjoy you guys !! I only found you because I am just learning to Sous Vide, and am grateful for your quality videos !! Thank you, to all of you !!
A few days ago I watched my first episode and thought you were all insane people. Fifty hours later things have changed :) I still think you might be a little crazy, but man, those lobster looked good. But dont throw away those lobster heads!!!! Cut them up, gently simmer them in butter for no more than 10 minutes on low heat, add some white wine and butter, then strain and taste. Insane flavour. You will drink it as soup, use it as stock, or make a sauce out of it. An interesting experiment would be to compare your recipe and the same, but with the head put in with the tail after preparing it the same open way to expose the meat. You can cut all the legs and spikes off without loss. I think the main flavour component in the body is the bile or something. It's called the "mustard" in Australia and we never wash a prawn (shrimp) or crab , or lobster in my part of the world after shelling it because it would remove this amazing flavour.
Fantastic video, the storm, Maumau diving,
the fishing, and of course watching you guys eat the food.
Catch and cook is the best. Would love to dive to catch spiny lobster. You do great job with tour vids but in this one, with the drone footage and a bit of a story, you steped up. Good job.
Wow thanks for the support, I appreciate that very much.
All good.. Respect for the animals which provide us with wonderful experiences, and delicious sustenance.
This is one from your best videos guys. Super. Continue like this. Many greatings from Czech Republic (Middle Europe). Mantê-lo
Ahh going back through old vids on my day off I wish they did more catch and cooks
That was hilarious. Living buoy. My favorite video. We all float down here
I started watching this channel because of the food Lol.. but I really enjoy watching you guys just hang out.. all of you dudes are cool.. living buoy, Lol.
Awesome video! Loved seeing the entire trip from catching to eating. Very cool! MauMau - wow! Very impressive! I had no idea you catch lobsters like that. Not too many here in Oklahoma. :).
That’s Florida it thunder storms every day but the sun shines every day too.
I love how ninja is laughing at maumua being recorded naked:) !! Much respect to Maumua he's not only a programmer but a diver to!!
+EL Rico 😂👍👍
Hanging out with some buddies doing stuff that you like to do . I like that . That's living
Best video yet!!!
My fav too.. glad you liked it.
Sous Vide Everything Yes it was masterpiece, Drone shots were amazing! You should do videos like this more often..
I love the friendship of you guys
Wow! your subscribers have tripled since I started watching! I always love your videos and really love your catch and cooks. great work and keep it up! As always a thumbs up from me :)
Respect for Maumau for his diving and fishing skills and Guga for his cooking and hosting skills...
if you're going to the Keys, would love to see you get/make a key lime pie
I seriously give props to Maumau its really hard to dive with no fins and no weights man.
I love your videos and keep it up
You should do another fishing video with catching (using speargun) the invasive species, Lionfish, catch, sous vide and eat them
+Huy Nguyen spear fishing is awesome, a lot of work but a lot of fun! Will have to get some underwater cameras!
They did it
You guys are awesome! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Sous Vide Everything and have learned a lot from you. My wife and I love the Florida Keys and what you did in this video describes how we wish to live life: hammocks, boats, fishing, diving, eating, hanging out with friends. "Amazing"! Thanks for the video. Keep them coming.
3:30 I seriously thought someone killed a hippo and was dangling it on the side of the boat on the left... took me several seconds to realize it was only the casing for the engine xD
I’m extremely impressed he dove to ~50 that many times without fins and in a suit to boot. That’s like putting negative weight on.
As for the humane dispatch of the lobsters, yes you can do better and you know that now so nothing but love. Just work on your methods and all's good. As for Maumau's diving, well done sir. That had to have been difficult and you handled it like a champ. A fin/weight forgetting champ, but still a champ.
Shellfish don't feel pain tho

@@Carnivore.A.J are you a marine biologist?
@@Ntantosthereal Yes I am
Couldn't of been fresher! Thank you guys for sharing your adventure with us. Can't wait to cook it myself as it looked delicious.
You should do a poor mans steak, thus get a chuck roast which I find is often the cheapest per pound. And simply put make it a flavorful and tender steak. Thus cut it up how you want and season it how you want, but you have to cook it like any other steak. Because chuck I find is just a fantastic cut to work with, because it makes a nice flavorful steak due it it fat content. But you can also get a tender steak as well if you are a clever cook. Plus it's cheap, which only makes it better.
If you haven’t seen they’ve done chuck now twice
Bro... I LOVE lobstering in the Keys. My friends and I dive and do spearfishing and lobstering trips as often as we can. I love living in Florida.
Great video guys, one of your best. Please keep making them. Also, thanks for the warning before the killing began :-)
Thanks... I appreciate that Aaron. I know there are kids watch and I wanted to let the parents know. Thanks again.
Bring back catch and cook its so cool!
Great Video Guys!
Really enjoyed sharing in this adventure with you. Takesme back to when I was a kid fishing with my dad's and grandfather
Maumau is a living buoy. 😂😂 📍🏊♂️🛥️🦀
+Slappy Joe 😂😂😂😂 that was funny!
Chef Guga you are a true genius thank you for everything
You guys should do a whole sou vide turkey
totally agree !!!
Again... really? Turkey is very scary for me... 😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂
We choose to sous vide a whole turkey in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard"
Patrick Arceo or they could cut it up, faster cooking time. And a whole one might not fit in the tubs they have.
Ryan, actually, they are talking about doing an entire pig roast at some point. I don't think the size of the turkey is an issue
So fun!! Nice seeing you guy in your natural surroundings and not just in the kitch!!!!
Maumau, you're professionell diver!
Maumau: "But I'm also fat right now!!!"
Very much enjoy these educational and informative videos. They provide a different aspect to your channel and I personally think you should do more. Great job!
I don't know why but I fuckin love these dudes
+Jorden Baumblit thank you the dudes love you back!
Been on vacation for over a month for the holidays and hunting trips. Just told my son this year we are visiting Florida and booking a trip with Guga’s fishing buddy and doing some deep sea fishing and lobster diving. Keeps these videos coming been a sous vide everything marathon last couple of days due to rain. And also gonna order some tubs and sous vide machines from the links. Can’t wait to try this out.

huge fan of hunt/catch and cook videos!! i love cooking what i harvested!
Awesome video!
Thanks I appreciate that.
Fuckin cool video maumau needs to do cardio though we need more lobsters
😂🤣😂 I have to agree, more lobster always better.
Lol, you're an ass , he's all worried about his physique and the 1st comment.... I hate that it's funny smh.
Poor guy should have free diving fins and a scuba diving weight belt with just a kg to counteract the buoyancy of the wet suit. Just make sure it has quick release just in case. It looks like a 3/2 mm, but it all adds up!
I'm pretty buoyant as well 😂
I loved this video! I am the first to admit that I know nothing about the mental state of a lobster, but I respected the effort you put into being certain that no viewers were offended. Also, props to Maumau! 🍤
"i'm also fat" - my excuse for everything too. A+
Love the friendship between these guys! And Guga is SO sweet!! To friendship and good eats!! Cheers!

I've been watching this channel for years and just came across this video. It's amazing because it combines both of my most watched styles of TH-cam videos: Fishing and Cooking. This was an incredible video and I hope to see more fishing videos in the future. I wish I could have seen you cook some of that fish also. I'd love to see some sous vide fish recipes other than salmon.
Keep up the AMAZING work.
