I had the later 200cc 12 volt version of this here in the UK. Had it ten years. Great bike and so reliable . Not a bike for the highway though . Soon run out of steam . I have the Rebel 250 , 1998 mode now .l . Superb machine . So comfortable . Have fun with it . Enjoyed your video. Best wishes from Thomas .

Thanks you! Yeah, I noticed it probably wouldn’t like to be above 50 or 60 for too long lol. The 6v system really lacks foe lighting the signals and stuff. Surprised they would use a 6v battery with an electric start bike! I’ll be getting it back to the owner real soon for him to enjoy again. It’s a nice little cruiser!

I have a friend asking me to get one of these running again! Funny to see it show up

That’s crazy! It’s a nice and simple little cruiser. Super easy to work on with it only having one carb. None of that carb syncing jazz 😝

That little scoot is a good addition to the fleet. I like it. It looks like a fun little bike.

Thanks Chuck! This one isn’t mine though…I got to know it pretty well though!

That thing is sweet . I love the nostalgic vibe it exudes . And the adjustable pitch horn is something that no longer exists .
While I like a bike to do at least 100 mph there's no doubt that I could easily enjoy cruising this on backroads .
It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow .
What an absolute treasure you have found ! ❤ it .
    Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Yeah, I don’t know if it will do much above 60mph lol. Still a cool little bike. I’m thankful that the owner let me revive it and do a couple videos with it.

I own a twin star that I totally restored it set for 30 years the best thing I ever did was take the original carburetor off and swap it for a nibbi it made the bike wake up and run amazing

Really enjoyed the two videos on this bike, as you said a nice change from your usual type of bikes (and I have a thing for small Hondas!).

Thank you! This bike was a dream to revive. Zero drama and ran perfect after everything was cleaned up.

Always use the minimum scratch grade (like 0000) steel wool on chrome and lubricate with T Cut (do you have that in the U.S.?) afterwards a good quality wax polish to protect.
The trouble with cold water 'power washers' is that people think they will do the same job as a steam cleaner or a thorough hand wash with cleaning chems. They don't!
Glad you mentioned the chain, it did sound like it needed some lube and tension on the ride.
    Running well though, good recommission.

Yeah I had a very fine grade wool. I used to run hot water on my previous power washer but it ruined the orings in that thing lol. I need a proper steam cleaner!

May I recommend when putting on side covers, put a little oil or armorall on the rubber - these things are very old, brittle and tender - those posts break off really easy and those covers can be realy hard to find and expensive.

I just purchased the same bike same year. I am having probs with spark cutting out. Any suggestions on what to check?

      @Garage2Trail  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I would start with the easy stuff…make sure the plug caps are screwed into the wire tight, check and clean the points and make sure the coil is grounded to the frame correctly. If all that checks out you may need to start checking resistance on the ignition system with a multimeter.

Nice original clean old bike, never gonna be a thing of beauty in my eyes but a good little run around and will be very reliable for it's owner

It would make a great learner bike. So easy to ride, not intimidating, reliable etc
