In light of the recent government's plans, upon re-election, to repeal the Human Rights Act and to replace it with a 'British' Bill of Human Rights and to end the influence of the European Court of Human Rights in the United Kingdom. Academics come together to provide an informed analysis of the implications, legal and other, of the plans and their impact on people's lives.
The discussion aims to address some of the main challenges of the proposals, to examine the significance of the Human Rights Act, and to engage with the critique against it, as well as to enable attendees to ask questions
